"Kai, I don't think you're tall enough to play."
Iah stared down at Kaiyumi as the shorter girl stood before him, her eyes locked on the basketball he bounced in his right hand. Her eyebrows knit together as she replied, her gaze never leaving the ball, "Are you implying that I'm short?" She demanded, with a huff. Indeed, however, Kaiyumi was short for her age. The very idea of her playing a game against Iah was ridiculous - especially since she was a walking hazard. It wasn't unusual to see her stumble over her own feet, and crack her head on the cement.
On the contracy, it was almost a daily routine.
"If you're sure..." Iah rose a single brow. Grabbing the basketball, he clutched it with both hands, before tossing it towards the girl. "Here, you start with it then." Might as well give her the advantage.
The Growlithe boy merely blinked as the ball whizzed by Kaiyumi, after she made a clumsy attempt to catch it. "Oops." He let out a rather loud sigh, as Kaiyumi turned around, hurrying to retrieve the ball. This was going to be a painful game. Thank goodness he was patient.

Behind the basketball court at the swing set was a strange looking man pushing a plump little boy on one of the swings. The man had a wide smile on his face seeing that his 'son' most would asume was seeming to enjoy himself.
However, the little boy saw the basketball whizz past the lady and come in their direction. Being the kind little boy he was he stopped pumping his legs and got off the swings to get the ball and waddle over to the girl with it. He held it up to her with his innocent big brown eyes as he gave it back.
The man with purple hair came on over by the two to keep an eye on the boy and monitor what he was doing.

A hand flew to Iah's face as he watched Kaiyumi stumble over her own feet, pausing and windmilling her arms in an attempt to regain balance while the ball rolled farther away. Sighing rather loudly, he started towards his guardian, a look of amusement on his face. "Geez, and you think you can play a decent game with me..."
He trailed off as his gaze was pulled to a small boy who had picked up the ball, and started towards Kaiyumi. Iah merely watched for a moment, before grinning, jogging slowly towards them.
Having been completely oblivious that someone had picked up the ball, Kaiyumi hadn't noticed the little boy until he had walked up to him. For a moment, she stood silently, head tilted to the side as she looked over the child, before she smiled brightly, taking back the ball. "Aw, thank you!"
As Iah came up behind them, her attention drifted elsewhere, this time to the rather odd man who was approached them. Blinking, the woman rose her hand to point at him. "Heeeey, look! That guy has purple ha -" She was cut off abruptly, as Iah pressed his hand against her mouth, flinching a little.

Tanner nodded silently as the lady took the ball back. Once his hands were free again he stuck his thumb in his mouth and clung onto the mans leg as he drew closer to them. It was apparent that the little boy was kind of shy.
Don quirked an eyebrow at the girls fascination in him before the other boy came up and silenced her. "Good afternoon." The man greeted them with a smile as he put his hand on Tanner's head as the boy still clung onto his leg but was obviously very curious about the other two in front of them.

Hand still over Kaiyumi's mouth, Iah offered Tanner a grin, before turning his attention to the man. "Good afternoon," He replied back, before smiling sheepishly, embarssed. "I um, I'm sorry for Kaiyumi's rudeness." Removing his hand from the woman's mouth, he cringed as she proceeded to dramatically gasp for air, before abruptly shutting up and turning to look at Don. She stared at him silently, only to feel a nudge from Iah a moment after.
"What? OH. Yes. Um, yeah! I'm really sorry for have been so rude!" Grinning, she gave a little nod of her head. "And thanks again for getting the ball for me," She smiled at the child, "I'm um, not really graceful on my feet, to put it simply.

"It's alright." Don said with a laugh, "I'm used to it by now. Well I suppose I should introduce myself, my name is Don Piano, and this here is my son, Tanner, it's nice to meet you." He said with a charismatic smile and reached out to shake hands with the two of them.
Tanner looked up at the two new people and still shrunk back against Don's leg but let out a soft, "Hi." so as not to be rude.

Having stepped in front of Kaiyumi, Iah reached out to shake Don's hand first. "Nice to meet you, Mr. Piano." He said politely, with a lopsided grin before crouching down to Tanner. "And nice to meet you too, Tanner! My name is Iah." He said, the last part directed to both of them.
Kaiyumi then stepped up, and shook the man's hand enthusiastically, a large, cheerful grin on her face. "Yupyup, nice to meet you both! I'm Kaiyumi, though just Kai would work fine."

"Nice to meet you as well, Iah, Kai." He said after shaking both of their hands. He seemed to give off a natural outgoing and kind sort of aura about him. He seemed fairly laid back and over all nice at first glace. Once you got past the radical hair and body art that is of course.
Tanner looked at Iah, he was obviously a shy and rather quiet child, however he was a good boy. "Hewwo." Tanner said with an innocent smile to Iah however remaining beside Don's leg.

The childlike woman rocked back and forth on her heels, head tilted to the side as she did so. "So, what brings you two to the park today? Just bringing Tanner out to the playground?" Grinning, she fiddled with the basketball they she still held. "Iah and I came to play a game of basketball...until I lost the ball, that is." Just as she spoke, as if she jinxed it, the ball slipped from her fingers and proceeded to roll towards Iah.
Iah had grinned at Tanner, a small laugh escaping him. "You're a pretty sweet kid." Before he could continue, he felt something bump his foot. Looking down at the ball, and then up at Kaiyumi, the boy couldn't help but grimace. "Butter fingers, Kai?" He teased.

"Yup, pretty much, thought Tanner should get out today, maybe meet some new faces. Though he isn't the most outgoing type." Don said with a laugh as he put his hand on the boys head affectionately. "Sounds fun, I haven't played basketball in a couple years, I miss it." He said with a laugh.
Tanner looked at Iah confusedly, sweet? Did he mean he looked like candy? Tanner didn't personally think he looked like candy but he looked down at himself to see if maybe he'd stepped in gum or had dripped something on himself.

"It's good to get out every once in a while, hm?" Kaiyumi chirped, before raising her hand to point at herself. "And I suppose Iah and I are the new faces today!" Then, her gaze slid from Don, to the basketball, and then back. "Well, how 'bout playing with us? Doesn't have to be a serious game though, since I for one probably wouldn't be able to keep up."
Iah perked up a little, turning away to look at the man and his guardian for a moment, with a grin. "That'd certainly be fun. Just a light, casual game. We'll keep it gentle, so Tanner can play too?"

"Sure thing if you guys don't mind." Don said with a laugh then looked down to Tanner. "You wanna play kiddo?" He asked crouching down to him.
Tanner looked at Don and then over to Iah and Kai and then back to Don. He nodded his head with his thumb back in his mouth. He really didn't know how to play this game, but he did want to 'play' so he was going to at least try his best.
"Okay then, we're in." He said standing back up.

"Then it's decided!" Iah rose, stretching a little before turning to look at Don. "We'll all play a little game then. We'll need teams though!" He took a step back, hand on his chin as he surveyed the three people in front of him.
"...Well, I don't think Tanner and Kaiyumi would make that great of a team." He muttered, letting out a soft chuckle. "They're both pretty small in comparasion to Mr. Piano and I..." He trailed off thoughtfully, intentionally ignoring the yelp and protests from Kaiyumi.
Stratching his head, the boy grinned at Tanner and Don. "So our options are Kaiyumi and I as one team, and Mr. Piano and Tanner as the other, or Tanner and I, with Mr. Piano and Kaiyumi."

Don chuckled as he saw Kai's obvious offense to Iah's comment. "Well I really don't mind what team I'm on, you two can choose, you invited us to play, it's only fair for you to choose." He said starting to stretch himself out, the man was obviously, VERY flexible.

"Are you sure?" Iah asked, rubbing his head as he continued to ignore Kaiyumi, who was now attempting to jump in front of him in order to catch his attention. Instead, Iah turned to look at Tanner,. "Want to play on my team then, Tanner?" He offered, with a friendly grin. "Us versus our guardians?"
Having been totally ignored, Kaiyumi instead turned to watch Don, head tilted to the side as she watched him stretch. "How do you get like that?" She chirped, raising her brows at the man's flexibility.
