The old, brick-colored pirate had been wandering aimlessly along the beach, the waters from high tide passing over his toes every time they came along the beach with him, and he smiled to himself as an old tune ran through his mind over and over. He paused for a moment and looked down at the sea foam, grinning. He enjoyed the feeling of the water on his toes, as it was cool, and since it was keeping his paws cool, it was keeping the rest of his body cool; which was indeed nice, as it was a hot, hot day out here, under the sun. The scruffy, old male turned his gaze upward and glanced about. The beach was seemingly empty at this time of day, and he smiled again, then took a few steps away from the water, and then reclined to his haunches again, taking deep breaths of the salty, sea air.
A yawn momentarily took over the old male, and he stretched his neck a little, his jewelry jingling and clinking as he did so; and then he shook his mane, wrinkling up his nose for a moment and then looking back down at his paws. "Hmmm..." Funsani pondered to himself, quietly, before looking around again, hoping in the depths of his heart that he'd spot something nice he could take home. No luck right now, however. Maybe later; he thought with a shrug.

Zahi was feeling like quite the man lately. Ever since he had decided to just tease females instead of just hate him, he had discovered that life could be just that much more interesting, as well as more pleasureable. With a grin, he made his way across the beach, trying to get used to the feeling of wet and soft sand underneath his paws. It was much different then what he was used to, but he had also decided that he liked it more then the dry savannah grasses. Plus that sea breeze? There wasn't anything like it!
His grey eyes had picked up on a movement of something up ahead. Instead of being cautious, he instead picked his head up, his curley mane picking up bits of a breeze that was coming off the water. His ears picked up sounds before his eyes noticed that it was another male, but what a male indeed. Obviously had seen many summers, and been through hell and back as well.
"Hmmm, indeed," he mentioned casually, as if he had known this lion from times before. "To come across you." His form relaxed easily, letting his eyes wandered around all the battle scars that the red-earthed coloured lion had all across his body. "They say many things was up at the sea, but it is obvious that the sea is generous in it's bounty." He was referring to such a strong looking lion, perhaps one to even admire.

Funsani wrinkled his nose up, lips curling into a snarl, as he turned to the strange lion that was now approaching him. His tail twitched in anticipation of the other's obviously inevitable speech, as most others found silence to be out of the question. The old pirate noted to himself that he missed old-fashioned stare-downs, then rolled his shoulders in a shrug. "Ta come across me?" He lifted a brow and snorted with laughter. "Lookit hurr, I dun get why yer talkin' in such strange mann'r, buh...I'd hafta 'gree." He said, curious about this other, for a moment. "Tha sea brings summa...wunnerful thin's ta us." He added, raising both eyebrows and then nodding slightly. His tail continued twitching as his own icy eyes ran over the surly-looking male that now stood beside him. Though the brick-colored lion was still slightly confused, he'd admit, by the words of this other, he couldn't help but feel complimented, and there was nothing wrong with that; after all, this other had just made a rather acceptable first impression, in Funsani's books.
The scruffy ex-umade'mfumi stared out across the oceans, then glanced back down at his toes, claws flexing into the sand, just in case. "Wha' ye doin' out hurr so far, eh? Ye dun look like yer fro' 'roun' hurr." He stated rather casually, though some may have found it rude, he knew; though Ani seldom cared if others took what he said the wrong way, usually he was bigger than them, and if not bigger, he was definitely tougher, anyways. He chortled to himself softly, and then turned back to the other with a lopsided grin.

Zahi offered a grin towards the older male's question, though the grin was full of a bit more teeth then what was normally included in a polite grin. His tail flicked behind him once before settling, though his eyes didn't lose their spark. White toes were nearly fully hidden in the sands of the beach, and so it nearly seemed like his feet were the same matching purple of his mane. Feet that seemed a little tense, mayhaps if only for the teasing.
"No, I'm not, but I needed change. Heard many things about the sea, so I decided to check it out," he replied, his tone and manner of speaking falling into something a little more normal. "I am a bit lost, but whatever. I have no where to be." He shrugged, his large mane curling around his shoulders as his attention shifted back to the old lion. "And everywhere else to be, as well, if you want to look at it that way."
He picked up his right forepaw, brushing it against the sand to give it another good feel before letting it go, and letting his paws relax again. It was always fun to push buttons, no matter who's they were.

Ani chuckled again, then looked off again, still scanning the beach for anything interesting. "Arr, well, yer not intrudin' on anythan' o' mine, so I dun care." He again shrugged, tail still twitching, the bone band that went around his tail moving along it's length just slightly with every movement. "So...whar are ye fro' than, anyway?" The brick-colored male lifted his brow again as he turned back toward the purple and white male, admiring how his mane puffed and curled, just more than slightly.
He couldn't help but be interested in the long braid that was twisted in there randomly, either; the way it hung down over his leg like that. Ani wondered how it might have gotten there, anyways. There couldn't be a lion that would be able to do that, as it required more than just paws, he'd have thought. Though, some...well, you could never be sure. But a two-legger, one of those furless ones, they could've done it. He shuddered at the thought of them.

Zahi didn't really pay attention to where the old lion was looking. The idea of his braid was that it had just always been there, and every once in a while he'd wrangle the help of a bird to help him straighten it out again.
"To be honest? A new life. Isn't that why everyone moves on?" he answered the question with one of his own. He wanted to just forget everything from his past and start over. What better then to go someplace that was completely different? To Zahi, that seemed the best way to forget about things. If it was so different, the chances of some things bringing back old memories was nearly nonexistant.
"I'm assuming that you've been here for quite some time to, am I right?"

The old, red-furred rogue chuckled again, "Yarrr, hurr be me 'ome." He nodded, necklace clinking away as his body shifted positions. "I've go' a nice li'l spot ny too far fro' 'ere." he added, smiling as he flicked his tail, still. "S'hidden fro' ny' ev'rythin'." Funsani chuckled, playing with his labret piercing absent-mindedly as he continued to watch the other, playing with his toes in the sand; well...the sand did feel cool under the paw-pads of a lion. Ani flexed his own toes into the sand, and then looked back up, hoping the other hadn't noticed.
"Arr yee," He snorted, and then shook his head sadly, "I be Pirate Lord Funsani, whass yer dubbance?" The old, brick-colored pirate stated, then questioned, going about it...well, there was no being careful with Funsani, not necessarily. He chuckled again and then raised his eyebrows at the other, still watching the way his thick, curly mane moved about his shoulders. Did he even notice how impressive it was? ...Aye, could use a guy like 'im 'round tha ship; Ani caught himself thinking. --'E looks pretteh strong.

Zahi's ears flicked forward while he tried to pick up the thick accent that the older lion spoke in. With a little bit of wrangling in his mind, he was able to figure out just what he was saying. Hmmm. Something about hiding stuff. Guess there was more then meets the eye; he must find stuff along to beach and hoard it.
Shaking off the useless thoughts, he switched gears to introductions. He had always wanted to throw off the last bit of his name, his 'first' name you could call it, but something made his just....say it. "Zahi'jyotsna, actually, though Zahi suits myself just fine." His tail flopped itslef around to rest under his right paw, his braid dangling just above it, the little gold band picking up a glimmer from the sun's rays. "Lord, y'say? Interesting to meet you then, I should be feeling a bit honored to speak with you then, right?" He grinned, one that was much more relaxed and filled with humor then anything.

Funsani chortled to himself, "Bah, ye make an ol' man smile." He said, raising his brows and looking away exaggeratedly, wiggling his toes a little in the sand. "'Ave whichev'r way ye wan', ahm realleh jus' an ol' cad." The scruffy, older male chuckled. "I've no' even got me a crew no more." Ani added, rolling his shoulders into another shrug, causing the jewelry around his neck to jingle pleasantly, once again. Icy blue gaze passed over the waters again, then around the beach, and finally, settled on a small, glittering spot that had managed to evade his gaze earlier.
His eyes widened slightly, and he shifted restlessly, looking back to Zahi, and then to the mysterious shiny thing, then back to Zahi again. "'Tis a pleasure ta meet ye, though." He said, half absently, as his mind was on the shiny thing, but since they were being formal, he may as well. "Err..." He started, not sure how to go about this the right way. The right way, he rolled his eyes and grinned, "D'you mind?" He gave his head a nod toward the shiny spot in the sand, not far off, and then looked back at Zahi, once again, muscles rippling with excitement, as he couldn't seem to sit still.
All he could focus on at this particular moment was going over to examine that shiny thing. Maybe he would find it worthy of being tucked away under his mane until he decided to head back to the ship. Speaking of heading back to the ship...He figured he would probably try and head back soon, anyways. Maybe he could invite his new acquaintance back with him for a drink, or a meal, even, if Lord Ani was feeling generous enough.

Zahi wouldn't of even had a chance to tell this Funsani that it bothered him, because before the purple lion could really pinpoint on just what the old lion was looking at, he took a step back when Ani strode over to investigate. He wouldn't ask, but would instead wait patiently (or semi-patiently, anyway) for the Pirate Lord to finish what he was doing.
"Found something, I'm guessing?" he asked, though he didn't really expect a reply. If he certainly was a pirate, there wouldn't be any way in the world that he'd share even what he found. Zahi stood himself back up again, shaking himself to fluff out his mane again. The one bad thing about the ocean was the damn salty air, and it sure could get to your fur if you weren't careful enough.

The old male chuckled to himself as he managed to pick up the shiny little shell and tucked it away under his mane, and then spun around, a feigned look of disappointment upon his features. "Nah, t'was onleh me mind playin' tricks on meh." He rolled his shoulders in yet another shrug, and then sauntered back toward Zahi. He flicked his white-tipped tail and then gave himself a shake, from head to toe, staring out across the water a moment longer, before running his tongue over his lips. It dawned on Funsani that he was thirsty, and he gave a fleeting glance back toward the jungle behind them both. He knew his way to that little stream of his like the back of his paw...which wasn't actually a very even comparison, although it made for good sounding, when it was thought to oneself, or even spoken.
"I dunno 'bout ye, bu' ahm gettin' a migh' thirsty." He said as he licked his lips again, now unable to remove his mind from the subject of that little stream. "Ah've got a nice li'l stream in me lands, ny too far fro' hurr." He nodded in the direction of the jungle this time, tail switching again as he did so, muscles twitching slightly as he stood, one front paw lifted as he waited upon the response of the other male.

Zahi's ear twitched as he could of sworn that Funsani had found something, but he wouldn't push him about it. Besides, Zahi didn't care that much. It was moreso odd that he would just stop what he was doing and go investigate something. Whatever.
He also noticed that Ani was inviting him to go get a drink. Well, that was a good thing, right? Zahi nodded and picked himself up, his white toes leading his to follow the deep earth-red lion towards the jungle where he must make his home. Hopefully Ani wasn't leading him anywhere suspicious, but why would he? He had no reason to. "I'd be glad to get a drink with you, Funansi."

"Aye. Arrrr...it be a bit 'ard ta git thar, an' ye can' be tellin' no nuthin' at all abou' how 't'was we go' thar, a'ight?" He grumbled, turning back to look at the larger lion, and lifting a brow delicately, under his bangs. He flicked his tail from side to side again, as he waited, patiently as possible for Funsani; the little bone ring on his tail sliding back and forth, as it usually did when he moved his tail at all. The old pirate gave a slight sigh, and then started off again. There was a feeling of honour between himself and that white lion, he could, well...feel it. And he trusted that this other wouldn't say anything.
It wasn't often; if ever, that he brought others near his home, and especially TO his home, but, Funsani got the feeling, as well, that this other lion, Zahi'jyotsna, might want to stay at his wonderful home. Concealed in the jungle with loads and loads of treasure, all the game and fresh water they needed? Who wouldn't resist an offer like Funsani was soon to make?

Zahi's eyes darted around for a moment, as if he was sure that there was not another soul around. The white lion could tell that there was something different about what Funsani was mentioning. A different tone in his voice that told him he was being trusted, and he dare not break it. Fine by him, it wasn't like Zahi had anyone to tell, anyway. He wasn't a fool enough to even think about what the crafty lion might be hiding in these lands of his, either. Zahi himself would have his own hoard of junk soon enough, he could tell.
His purple-socked limbs followed after Ani, only pausing for a moment to shake his large mane loose from his shoulders again, as it was getting a bit uncomfortable again. Sure, he had one braid, but he didn't know how to braid. He'd managed to bribe a bird to help him out. And he'd need to find himself another one if he ever wanted to get this mane under control. Hmm.
The white and purple lion slipped quietly after Ani, keeping his thoughts to himself for now. Even if there was already a small bond between them, Zahi knew that he'd have to earn it for it to get any larger. Then perhaps he could speak to him about his thoughts. For now, though, a drink was on the hrozion.

Funsani walked at a brisk pace, toward the trees once again, and as he made his way back into the jungle, he turned for a second, just making sure Zahi was still close enough to see where he was heading. "Folla' me caref'ly, else ye'r gun' git loss." He said strongly, flicking his tail once more, and then strutting off between two large trees, their tops drooping from the weight of the vines and mosses that hung on the branches. Ani sighed contentedly as they entered further, and it began to get just slightly darker, he loved his little jungle hideaway. So much better than anywhere he'd ever been settled before; and he fully intended on staying here until he was ready to expire.
The jungle was like this old pirates heart and soul, and his ship...well, the jungle was the home to his ship, his riches, and his ship was obviously his own home, so it all worked out just perfectly. He couldn't help but give a small laugh to the trees and bushes, flowers and all sorts of other plants around him; they deserved his cheerfulness, as it wasn't too often he was in such a jovial mood. "So anyway. Whar ye fro' huh?" He inquired, trying to make converstaion, as the jungle was always incredibly quiet this time of day. "An' wha' was't tha' brough' ye up hurr too?"
