while browsing around my other message boards and some one posted something about Harajuke girls and ganguro girls . So I did some research and there isnt alot out there. What I did find is that they are concidered to some to be a part of the harajuku scene but mainly in the Shibuya and Ikebukurodistricts of Tokyo. SO I ask...what do you think of the trend of being a ganguro?

heres a website if you dont know what Im talking about

Ganguro's not something I'm reaaly interested in since I see plenty of tanned girls with light-colored hair since I live in California. n.n

But there's still something kind of... intriguing about it, no?

[Edit] Since the time I posted this, I've actually become quite fond of Ganguro. xD But I still prefer lolita. <3 Very much.

Ganguro, it is not related to lolita at all, other than being a (street) fashion.
I don't like it very much, because I don't like to look like that... And , like Chrome Butterfly has said, I live in California too, and many girls here have very tan skin and light-color hair. Only thing is, they do not have purikura or white eye make up.

They look like the girls at my school. Except they don't wear the make up...

I can't stand it. Even kogal is better *shutters* since the golden rule to the fashion is to "spend your parent's money, look cute and giggle a lot." And the way they come in packs and go to those sticker booths and put them into their sticker books that they always carry around gonk . One thing can be said about the kogal and gugoro fashion, without it there would be no goth lolita since goth lolita is viewed as a reaction to that stupid fashion

*shrugs* I must say, I don't have much of an opinion about it. I mean, it's certainly not a style that I would partake in, but I don't really mind if others do. It's simply a different style than Lolita and people are allowed to dress the way they want.

*eep* the Ganguro girls in Fruits scare me, the make up is so ridiculous that they bear a slight resemblance to clowns- one of the things I'm scared of! The clothes arent that bad though sometimes.
I wonder if ganguro will come to the UK and America?

I don''t really care for the ganguro style at all. It''s not appealing in my opinion, just tacky. Isn't there a Ganguro Girl hentai game even? xP

There's both, really. I've seen advertisements for porn/hentai that features girls dressed in lolita clothing. :O

I personally don't like the fashion, since I've always prefered pale skin over tanned for Caucasians. Maybe because I like fashion from the previous century, and women with pale skin were considered fashionable. That and the makeup seems a bit strange. Having white makeup on dark skin seems a bit strange to me.

Being a girl of many different styles, I consider ganguro to be one of the more shocking yet cute and fun styles out there. I would participate in the fashion to a degree, though I must admit that the idea of bleaching my virgin-tohairdye hair is frickin' frightening to me.
