It had been weeks since the run-in with the skinwalker, and at last, Plague felt like his old self again.
Stretching his limbs as he walked, he spread his wings out and ruffled them, sending dozens of black feathers onto the ground. The morning had started off lazy enough, and his jaws were back to their usually aching. He had been strong enough for the past few days to hunt down his own food, so it seemed fitting enough he should do so this morning as well. After all, he couldn't depend on that mare of his to continue doing everything for him. What was he, a foal?
Hollow eyes looked over his environment as he neared the edge of the forest. He was still becoming acquainted to this area since he had been injured close to these parts, but he was growing accustomed to his surroundings. Perhaps this would remain a suitable living spot for the next few months. Only time would tell.

Pink eyes fluttered open as Diabetia woke up to the morning light streaming in at her from between the leaves of the tall trees looming overhead. Her head lazily rose from the soft grass it had been sleeping upon, and she let out a long yawn as she shook her head, pink curls bouncing in every direction. It was a quiet morning, and her head turned to search the small clearing she lay in. There was no sign of the large mutant... had he gone out on his own again?
Over the past few weeks she had nursed him back to health, as dutiful as some silly old mate would be towards her stallion. But Dia refused to see herself in that light... she was still, and would always continue to be, the Dia both she and Plague knew. If anything, she helped him out of the continuous feeling of obligation she had towards him, as he had taken care of her for all those years before. Yet, her curiosity got the better of her, so instead of dozing back off to sleep, she rose from the soft ground beneath her, and went out in search of her companion, curious as to where he had wandered off to. It wouldn't come to a surprise to her if he got himself into another predicament with another skinwalker.... males were such typical creatures.

Gray eyes darted back and forth, and she motioned her head once again.
For the weeks since she had last seen them together, Torment had grown restless and frustrated. She couldn't fathom why her Father would return to that wretched Mother of theirs, and it upset her in the sense that she felt replaced. Were his children not meeting his expectations, so he went back to her because of that?
She didn't know, but she was going to find out.
It had taken her weeks of searching high and low over the fields and forests, but she had found her youngest brother. Taint, as horrible as he was, had every right to know what was going on. Aside from that, Torment didn't know what to do in this kind of situation, so perhaps her sibling might be able to assist in that regards. Despite the fact they loathed one another, they were still siblings. Tarnish as well had the right to know, but Torment continued to stay as far away as she could from her other sibling. He was reckless, and he was dangerous. While she felt somewhat on equal grounds strength wise with her youngest sibling, she knew the white mutant had grown far more powerful than both she and Taint, and she kept away. Though, she had passed on the news of what she had seen throughout the forest, and perhaps the news had reached the mutants' ears. Either way, she wasn't about to approach him, not when she didn't know what he would do, to her OR their parents.
So, she had retraced her steps, and now was leading Taint back to the area she had first spotted their makers at. No doubt her nose would soon pick up either the sweet scent of the treacherous mare that had birthed them, or the foul stench of the Father that had raised them.

Tarnish watched them. He knew this well enough without feeling the need to tell his sister. She was enough of a mess without that knowledge... But how else would the know the things that he did without doing so? He had to be watching... Even now as he moved throughout the forest beside Torment.
He knew well enough what Tarnish had planed for at least one of their 'parents'... And the other? Well, she was no concern of his and nor was what happened to her. He had told her to be prepared for what came and if she didn't heed that warning, so be it.
Silence was imperative as they moved. He did not wish to alert either his sire or his dam to their presence, nor did he wish to do something that would draw Tarnish out of his hiding. His brother could choose his own time to move and he would. Oh, yes... He would.

It had surprised him greatly when Father and the nuisance of a mother had shown up in the forest he'd started to call 'home. Neither of them had noticed his presence and that suited him perfectly. If they felt at ease it would only serve to make his job easier in the end. Father, the fool, must have come into contact with another demon that roamed this area. He'd seen his weakness and seen his pain but he wouldn't add onto it. No. He'd wait and bide his time until he could crush Father again.
Torment had also gotten the idea it seemed to keep an eye on Father. He hadn't expected his sister to show her little face around but it was a welcome surprise. She could see just what it was she feared for once.
He watched the two siblings carefully. Taint knew he was near but he expected as much from his brother. His sister was clueless and that was useful. Were she to know he was around she would certainly alert Father before he wanted his presence to be know.

There was a quiet to the forest that seemed rather unsettling. The birds had stopped chirping, the squirrels had stopped rustling high in the trees. Everything aside from the weather seemed out of order today, and Plague kept his eyes out for any disturbances. True, he felt strong enough should he need to defend himself, (though what had he to worry about defending himself from, aside from skinwalkers?), but he'd rather not find himself in a scuffle this early in the morning. While he enjoyed a good fight, today was not the day for one.
Instinctively, he turned away from the forest's edge that he had been heading towards, and returned back to lurk deeper within the forest. Remaining hidden among the tall trees would be his best chance at finding any meal this time of day, away from the revealing sunlight.

She glanced among the trees, her nose in overdrive. The woods were filled with the stench of rot and decay, so it was hard to tell if she was getting closer to the stallion, or further away. Perhaps she was growing older, if it was getting harder to smell.
Dia hated and pushed away the thought of aging, just as she had for so many years. Slowly, however, she was coming to terms with the fact her body was not as young and spry as it had been, but she was still just as beautiful and was determined to remain that way for many years to come.
Her ivory head turned when she herd the sound of rustling in the bushes, but she quickly dismissed it as being some horrid little creature, since the rustling was soon to stop. Had it been Plague, it would have no doubt continued for Plague was a mutant who hadn't a care for hiding his large presence. Such a typical stallion. So instead, she took the opportunity to shake herself out some more and give her rested body a good stretching... morning was such an awful time of the day, after all!

After a bit of searching, they had finally spotted one of their parents.
Remaining still behind the bushes, Torment watched on, yards away, as the pink and white mare groomed and preened herself. They had nearly lost their cover due to an annoying little beastie roaming around the brush, but Dia had ignored it, and returned to giving her full attention to herself. Short curls gently brushing against her white skin, she was indeed a beautiful mare. A heartless, evil mare, but a beautiful one at that. All the more reason to give Torment a purpose of hating the mare who had birthed her.
She glanced over at her brother, as if silently questioning what they should do. There had been talk about revenge for so long now... had the time truly come for it to happen? Torment had planned on one day returning the favor her mother had failed to do, namely killing her offspring, and she had trained long and hard for this moment. But... was this the moment?
Seeing her once again with her own eyes made the rage and anger grow stronger within her, but her mind was still doubtful. If Dia had been able to take on Plague and escape, she was definitely a notable opponent, despite whatever training Torment might have had at her young age.

A smirk curved his lips as he watched the pale mare from their 'hiding spot'. The way she preened reminded him of a large, feathered bird... Or of his dear sister. He leaned closer to her, lips brushing against the soft skin of her ear as he whispered softly; darkly.
"Look at her, Torment... Do you see where we get it from? The desire to be beautiful... No, the knowledge that we are beautiful; you more so than I, of course. You do take after her, Torment... If this were a fairytale she would be the wicked but beautiful queen... You do know what happens to the beautiful, wicked queen, don't you?" He nudged her to watch the mare once more. "She strikes down everything whose beauty threatens hers... Wouldn't you rather be that mare, sister? Wouldn't you like to show her how much more beautiful you are? That you are nothing like her?"

He stopped beside a large tree and smirked. He could smell the horrible scent of rot that followed Father and the sickingly sweet smell of his mother. Neither were pleasant on their own in any way but mingled together than almost made his lips curl. He knew they had been together if their scents were mingling in -his- home.
Continuing to move though the trees he spotted his mother preening and not far behind her his siblings. Good. Perfect.
Now there was just one more little player that was needed on the stage.

Torment choked on a growl as her brother's words echoed in her ears. She was nothing like Dia, save for her appearance! NOTHING. It was getting to be too much to bear... first this mare tried to kill her before she could even defend herself, TWICE, no less. Now she was attempting to steal back the one stronghold Torment had in this world, apart from her own self. Plague didn't love his daughter, Torment had known this and it came to no surprise to her. But she had depended on him and he had raised her, teaching her what he had to share with his offspring. That alone warranted respect in Torment's eyes... Plague had every opportunity to leave her and her brothers to Diabetia, but he hadn't. And she'd be damned if she let that harlot mare get that opportunity to take him away from his family, dysfunctional as it was or not.
Unable to control herself, despite her father's haunting words to never act on her overemotional tendencies, the younger mare rose from her hiding place in the bushes and leaped over the leafy brush, headlong towards the older mare.
"I am NOTHING like you, you... you b***h!" She screamed, lowering her trio of horns as she directed her head towards the candy kalona.

Her head hadn't been quick to swivel back around as she heard further rustling in the bush, accounting it towards yet another insignificant forest creature. But when her delicate ears had heard the hooves pounding on the ground and the screeching voice of another, her defenses flew up and she was quick to turn about, ready to face on her opponent.
It came as quite the surprise to see the dark filly she had birthed coming straight at her. It was something Dia had never seen coming in the least. As much as she had despised her own offspring, she had never once had the inclination that perhaps the feeling was mutual between the two parties.
Growling, Dia didn't have time to completely dodge the attack, and her front leg found itself being jabbed by one of the sharp black kalona horns atop the younger mare's head. Enraged at the sudden pain, though still caught off guard by the spontaneous attack, Dia let out her own screech and reached down, grabbing a chunk of maroon hair and dark violet neck with her jaws.

Out of the silence in the forest came a scream, and though the words were distorted, Plague knew the voice as sure as he recognized his own. Torment, of all creatures, had no reason to be roaming within this very forest... and why in the hell was she screaming, of all things?
His questioned answered itself, however, as he heard then a second scream, this voice also familiar.
So the two had found each other at last.
Dark hooves turned and followed in the direction of the screams, and his pace quickened. It was inevitable that the two meet up, but he hadn't planned for either mare to die just yet, especially by the power of the other. If anyone had the control and say over who died, it would be him.

Rather content with the way things were currently going he stood back to watch, eyes on the movement of the two mares. He wouldn't step in to spare his sister this time... No, she had foolishly gotten herself into this mess. She could get herself out of it.
