It had been nearly a week since she had given birth to three foals that Mad H had reassured her were just as perfect as their parents. It had been nearly a week... And everything still seemed quiet. Too quiet.
She was starting to grow curious as to what the foals looked like beyond the odd appearances of the baskets. She wanted to know what their voices sounded like... Who they would look the most like... What they were. She had so many questions and the baskets, just sitting there, weren't doing anything to answer any of them.
She had heard noises from time to time coming from outside. They had been strange... But not strange enough yet to cause her to want to move. It was comfortable even if it was starting to get a bit cramped. She would have to move eventually... She was just waiting for the right moment.

He'd liked whatever he was in for a while. He was warm and comfortable and it had even been relatively quiet. Now he could hear things and smell things and it was getting harder to get comfortable. He was starting to have enough of this and wondered if it was just too much work to try to stay, well, wherever he was.
Nudging his nose against the top of the thing he blinked as it moved. Well that answered that question.
It was well onto night as he wandered back from finding dinner and back into the grove where he and Katarina had made their 'home' of a sort. The baskets were still sitting there just as they had been except for one small thing.
Frowning he walked over to them and nudged at the almost white one with his nose. "Kitten ..... have you noticed anything odd about this one today?"

She could hear movement around her... why was something waking her up? She was having such a peaceful sleep too. The comfort of the basket around her was indeed becoming tight... but it just felt -right- to her.
Lifting up her head she felt it 'thunk' against the baskets lid. The lid lifted up, but went back down just as quickly as she lowered her head.

"... I've noticed various things odd about all of them. That one..." She nudged the green baskets. "Looks like you, for instance... And that one over there?" She tilted her nose towards the one with the striped top. "Still gives me the chills." And would, most likely, continue to do so until whatever was in there came out without wings... Or fangs.
"That one?" She glanced down at the third basket, blinking after a moment. "... It moved."
The noises had started again. She could hear them... Noise One and Noise Two. She had given them names, of course, as she was certain somehow in her little mind that all things should have them.
Her nose wrinkled as she shifted, basket creaking as it stretched around her. Oh, no... This would never do. She needed to find something bigger to curl up in...

"It has..." He nosed it again and grinned. It seemed they were all starting to move one way or another. Moving over toward the mare he nuzzled her gently.
"It seems you'll get to ask your questions kitten"
Alright that was enough. They were talking, whoever they were, and he wanted to know what it was. Pushing at the top of the basket he managed to shove himself up and ...
And out and right onto his face. So whatever he hadn't been using still didn't work and he was flat on his face in the dirt and he didn't like that.

Her ears pricked as there was a loud noise right next to her, it seemed to come after whoever was talking... Did talking always respond with a loud noise?
Not being over curious like her brother she decided to take it easy. Remembering the lid had lifted last time she raised her head, she poked her head outside. The lid slid off her neck and was craning off of the side of the basket.

She stepped back closer to Mad H as one thing... No, one foal... Stumbled out of its basket. Her golden eyes narrowed slightly as she leaned down, giving it a gentle nudge. That one... Had her face! Her eyes! Her mask! "Yes, that one's ours."
... Then another one moved. The one with the striped lid. She jumped back, eyeing it cautiously from almost behind Mad H. "... You check on that one."
Well, they were all out there making noise and leaving her out of the fun. She gave her small body a little wriggle before lifting her head, nosing the lid of the basket off so that she could stand up. Once she did that she stood there for a moment, waiting for attention to come her way. She wasn't all that sure whether or not her legs could make it to the attention just yet.

"Well considering it looks like you i would hope it's ours." He nudged the little boy up onto his feet carefully before he moved to check on the almost solid pink head that had appeared. He had no idea why Katarina didn't like the basket but he thought it was darling.
"'ello little one."
His eyes widened as first one and then a second of the huge things nudged him. The second one at least got him back on his feet where he wobbled slightly. Right, no more sudden movements or he'd end up back on his face.

Her ears folded back as she saw one of the larger things jump at her emergence. Was she really that hideous?
Eyes rolling first towards her two siblings, she saw they where standing....or trying to anyways. Before the second large soquili walked over to her she too tried to stand, but like her brother found herself unable. The lid of her backet slid off completly, and she fell onto her rump within its contents.

She eyed the little pink one for a moment before moving cautiously towards her. No fangs... No wings... Letting loose a sigh of relief she moved closer, leaning down to give the small one a gentle nudge. "Almost... Come now, try again."
Her nose wrinkled as she took an awkward step forward, lifting her hoof to step over the edge of the basket. Unlike Thing One and Thing Two she was going to conquer the whicker. She managed one step... And another... And promptly stumbled on the third, tumbling towards a large, minty green leg.

He chuckled softly as the little girl with his coloration stumbled against his leg. He couldn't remember being that awkward as a foal but then again that was so long ago. Leaning down he nuzzled his daughter.
"Too much in a first day doesn't become a lady"
He scrunched his nose as he was spoken to and then one of the other things his size stumbled toward him and the big thing. Right. No more of that at all, ever. He decided to just stand there and then no one would be able to knock him over and he'd .... do something.

With that last push the filly was able to hoist herself up onto her hooves. She wasn't the steadiest foal in the world but hey, She could stand up!
Lifting up her weak legs she attempted to make a few steps forward, They buckled harshly and she stumbled, but not enough to toss her off her feet. Turning around she eyed the larger pink one and snorted, this was the one whom cringed when she came out of the basket.... she wouldn't forget that anytime soon.

Mad H seemed to have two out of the three under control and that left her with... Pinky. She smiled softly as she leaned down, touching her nose gently to her daughter's. This... Wasn't so bad at all. She could handle this 'mother' thing.
"You, darling, are going to need a name... All of you are, of course. We can't just... Go about calling you 'little one'. Well, I'm sure we could... But you won't always be little." She nuzzled the filly once more before turning her head to look up at Mad H. "Do you think they understand us?"
There was... A nose. A big nose. She stared up at it, golden eyes wide with awe. Was this what she was going to look like some day? Was her nose going to be that big?
She pushed herself back up, wobbling on her hooves for a moment, stubby tail flickering behind her. Ha! She got it! Now it was just a matter of staying there... And not landing on the ground ag---
What was that? She turned her head towards another sound and saw two pink bodies; each one different. They seemed as if they were closer to being her size... And one of them looked a lot like the big pink one. She nickered softly as she stretched her neck out, touching the small, pale shoulder of her brother with her nose.

"Understand in the sense that they comprehend everything we're saying? Heavens no. Though i would think they understand body language and sound well enough" You had to learn from somewhere and that was a good place to start.
He leaned down and nosed the mostly pink filly that was near him again. "You're going to be almost as much a princess as your mother i think."
His eyes widened as he felt something touch him. It was one of the other things that were his size. Huffing slightly he turned his head and nudged her nose with his.
He rested the side of her nose against his and watched her for a bit.
