She had grown considerably since she had first started swimming after the dark, blue sea stallion. Her body had lengthened and now, instead of looking like an awkward foal, she looked -almost- like a proper lady. That guise might have been believeable had she not still been somewhat fond of talking... And had she not gained a good bit of the stallion's vocabulary in the process of 'learning' from him.
Her swimming wasn't nearly as awkward as it once was. She could keep up with him easily enough and the sharpness of her mind matched the sharpness of his teeth. She was even willing to go as far as to say that he enjoyed her company... Even if he wouldn't admit it.

He had mostly ignored the little fish that had followed him around. She was useful enough as now half the time things he wanted to eat assumed he wasn't hungry since he hadn't eaten her. He wouldn't admit she was useful ever though.
Currently he was following a trail of scales being dropped by a fish he'd taken a chunk out of earlier. His little shadow hadn't seen him do it but it should have been obvious by now what he was doing. If she didn't like it then she could hop the next warm current to the closest reef.

She knew him well enough to know what he was up to by now... She had learned from it the first time she had seen him in action. It had frightened her, yes, but it hadn't made her back down. If anything it had only served to steel her reserve. She wasn't going to be like every other fish.
She followed after him silently, remembering where they were so that, if need be, she could head back to the reef. She had done it often enough while he was 'resting' so that she could find her own food. Her stomach didn't always crave the things that Alo's did... Sometimes she was glad for that.

His muzzle pulled back into a grin as he caught scent of the fish he'd bitten earlier. His tail flicked sending him ahead of his little orange shadow and after his prey. It was struggling just up head near the surface. If he was lucky nothing else was in the area and he could pick it off easily.
Sinking down into the depths for a moment he made sure that there was nothing else before heading directly at the poor fish. It didn't stand a chance and his teeth sawed it in half easily. Two bites and it was gone.

She winced slightly as she caught up just in time to see the pieces of the fish disappear. Her nose scrunched and then she was over it, giving her head a light toss. She swam closer to the sea stallion, swishing her tail as she brushed past him. "... Good thing you caught that. Maybe you'll be more pleasant now."

He licked his muzzle and floated for a moment as he swallowed the bits of the fish. He almost sighed when the little, or not so little anymore, annoyance appeared again. Couldn't he enjoy a meal just once without conversation?
He snorted at the idea of it making him more pleasant. "Doubtful"

"Worth a shot." She nickered softly before swimming off ahead of him. The water was starting to get cooler and she knew that there was a warm spot not far ahead that she wouldn't mind lingering in or a bit.

He scoffed at the notion and kept going at his leisurely pace. She could go swimming off ahead and hopefully get herself eaten and he'd have peace again. Nope he wouldn't miss her in the least. If he could only get a better grip on her and she hadn't gotten so damn big he'd have done it himself.

After a while she turned tail, swimming slowly back towards the sea stallion. She didn't mind the quiet, really... It could be pleasant every now and then... Even if it had taken her the hard way to find that out.
She still had the marks from teeth on her tail from when he'd first bitten her... And a scratch or two on fins as well. They added character, she figured. Good thing, to have character.

He had closed his eyes but as he felt her come back in his direction they opened slowly. "Haven't you gotten eaten yet?" He was far too old to be babysitting her anymore. She needed to go find her own kind to play with or get eaten.

"Has your personality changed any since we met?" Her brow lofted slightly as she peered at him for a moment before sticking her tongue out. "You don't need to be such a sea slug, Alo. I'm not that bad... Anymore."

"If i were a slug i'd be crawling around on the sea floor." He glared at her for a moment before he changed his direction slightly. There was a sea mount nearby and it would have some prime hunting. It might even persuade her to get lost.
"That bad? ..... no but you're still a nuisance"

She snorted softly as she continued to swim after him. "You're just... Cranky. Very cranky, Alo. Have you ever thought about oh, I don't know, getting out and having a bit of fun? There is more to the sea then your stomach."

"Yes .... there could be mares were i of the sort to care for that sort of thing." He could think of better things to do than chase after mares. Eating for instance.

"There are mares... You just don't seem interested in them." She smirked as she swished her tail before swimming off ahead of him, turning after a moment to face him. "You could be a bit more amiable at least... How often have I managed to somehow bring food to you?"
