I can't believe no one has replied to this! Oh well, I'll be the first. xd
I personally plan on watching it just for the laughs. But I am rather annoyed too because now I bet alot of people here in America who hadn't heard of Death Note will think it's a spin off of Devil's Diary (should they ever come to learn about DN after watching DD). So really, that's my only complaint, at least at the moment. I'm sure more complaints and annoyances will come up as the days go by.

*Twichs* Damn Hollywood and their *****ing anime rip offs, first the Battle Royale rip off for which I don't even remmber the name of because it was so stupid and now Death Note. I wouldn't be surprised if Ohba Sensai found out about this and sued their dumb a**'s. Hollywood should leave anime ALONE!!!!!

when my friend told me about this i just died laughing ..... it's just crazy i dont know who thought this would be a good idea but i do have to wonder...
with how crazy death note creators have been will they try and sue them?

Nah, even if it's funny of think of it as one, I don't think it's a Death Note rip-off. The only thing they really have in common, it seems, is a little black notebook that does bad things to people when one writes in them, and even that's not exclusive to Death Note itself. But anyways, the recipient of "Devil's Diary" doesn't seem to be using it for the same reasons as Raito did (more like, "HAHA I'm so hardcore and dark and stuff" instead of "I'm gonna pwn all criminals so I can make my god complex a reality"). And it seems like an extremely angsty horror tearjerker with supernatural aspects movie instead of an exaggerated mystery thriller with supernatural aspects. Not to mention, apparently the person that acts in an L-like role is a priest?
....But it is funny, I admit, to imagine Light looking like Avril Lavigne.

It could be a rip-off...although they could argue that it's NOT stare Everyone do complain to their diaries, just that the diary just lay still and listen to you.
I personally prefer a Death Note than a Devil's Diary blaugh
Come on...it's fun to manipulate rules than just "Dear Diary, I hate (...insert name...). I wish (....insert whatever actions...) ." and wham! that fella's in a deep trouble.
Besides...Death Note can help train my people recognizing skills sweatdrop I can't match the names and the faces I met...
