The stallion was waiting for nothing in particular, and he cast himself on a hill and overlooked the moving grass with a quiet composure. His long hair also danced in the breeze, and he shuffled his feet at the feeling of being chilled. He was strangely elegant, but yet his spikes revealed a more gruesome truth to his image. They weren't as noticeable as his brothers though, and he ignored them as if the weren't there. It was only when others commented on his spikes or headwings when he would realize his true fate on this earth.
The breeze was steady, and he found it soothing while being silent. He usually wandered by himself, since he found himself avoiding others. Sometimes he didn't understand why he found others displeasing, but for the time being, he just kept himself quiet while watching the nothingness.
It was a terrible habit of his, and he left his body and drifted into a strange daze.

(image will be replaced when I get her tag!) The world was eerily still from her position. Odile looked at it dispassionately from her place near a cloud. Creatures, big and small. Dirty, lustful, hateful creatures. Even if it was the nature of the beast, so to speak, it was... Rothbart perched on her back, his talons digging into her hide, causing pinpricks of pain. She gave a whinny, sweeping her wings, causing the hawk to give a screech and fly away, displeased. He would be back to haunt her. He always came back. She gave a shaky shudder and moved lower, finally landing on the ground. There was wind? Teal eyes blinked as bits of her mane were brushed into her eyes.
It was cold down here. Not cold as in the sense of the weather, no. Cold as in the things she had seen. Mothers, fathers, abandoned foals. Killing, feeding on the flesh of others, fighting to survive. War. Death. This world was cold with the sense of dying.
And it was the life she had chosen. She shut herself away, closed her heart to the suffering that closed in on her. She was angeni. It was her place to bring peace, she reminded herself. It was her place to...
Above her, she heard Rothbart's screech, then from below, the scream of a rabbit as it tried to flee. The hawk always found his way back to her, and with him came death.
Odile fled, running aimlessly away from the hawk.

Dante thought he was dreaming when he saw a strange figure running in front of him below the hill. The dark and silver, and many-winged body looked as if it was flying, with feathers and hair dashing in all directions. It was beautiful, and he watched it happily before realizing the figure was real! He decided to walk down from his perch, and see what it was for himself. Its free movements and elegant stature caught his eye, and it would be unwise for him to just remain uninterested.
As he drew nearer, he noticed that he was in her speedy path. She was running now towards him, and it helped him see the many details on the mysterious thing. Up close, he was able to finally tell she was a female, and her wings looked oddly familiar. His sister Meera possessed such wings, and for a moment, Dante felt panic drip into his body. Was this female related to his father? Did she somehow have a terrible connection? He didn't see those wings often, and he felt shakey with worry.
She didn't seem to have spikes.. or a devil tail.. so he decided to catch his breath and watch her quietly. He felt terribly uncomfortable, since he was clear in her view now. Dante held a soft expression, but avoided the female's light eyes. He wasn't sure what to do or think, so he just remained silent for a moment before awaiting to see what the female would say.

She was dripping sweat, shaking when she saw the other figure and pulled to a slow. Surely... surely with others she would be safe. She had to be. Wild teal eyes saw nothing of the creature in front of her except for a vague outline. A male. She let her head fall forward, taking deep, gulping breaths.
Cold flooded her lungs, and her hair was whipped up again in the breeze, flying every which way. But the creature in front of her.. was life. To counter the death HE brought. She took a shaky step forward, closer to the creature, unthinking. Jerked away with a shudder.
He was a wingless thing, but for behind his ears. All hair, with spikes along his spine. Grey and black, and res. The red of blood. She stared at the ends of his mane, eyes wide. Dripping blood, the color of taken life, destroyed life... She made a noise of alarm, tossing her head.
High above, she heard Rothbart's screech.

Dante lifted his head and looked at her with concern. She was.. silent back?! But just then, he also heard the sound of a strange bird, and he lifted his head up towards the empty sky. Was she chasing from something? The stallion was utterly confused! Didn't she have wings of her own? Why was she running?
"Are you.. alright?" he said, in a quiet tone. It wasn't like him to address someone first, so he looked down right away so he could avoid her eyes. The female had wonderful eyes, and in Dante's mind, he didn't have the right stature to look into them. He knew that he was more worthless then others, and there was something incredibly elegant about the female. Her eye color was especially unique, and as much as he wanted to gaze into them, he held his composure and looked away. He continued to gaze at her two front hooves, until he heard another sound in the sky again.
"What is that?" Dante was almost worried, it was a beautiful but yet scary shrill of a noise, and it floated in the air before bringing silence to the land again. If it was a bird, it was an incredibly loud one. His body felt chilly at the thought of something scary.

She was frozen, staring at the creature until she realized... he seemed to be as afraid of her as she was of him. Or something like that. He kept staring at her hooves, and she frowned, looking down at them to see what was so interesting about them. She could hear the bird above them. "Rothbart." she whispered finally, in answer to the stallion's question.
As if the eagle had been waiting for proper introduction, he gave a screech and swooped down, dropping his mangled prey towards Odile with a cackling noise. The mare shrieked, feeling a few droplets of blood land on her as the rabbit dropped between herself and the stallion, and fled again, as the eagle pulled back into the sky, wheeling above her, following.

The mare had gone and vanished, and Dante stared in the direction that she fled in. There was still a dent in the grass at where the strange female stood, and Dante himself was lifeless in thought. What the heck had happened? Was he dreaming? It was strange that he couldn't compensate reality and his dreams anymore, so with a large sigh, he turned himself and moved in the other direction, hoping to distract his eyes with other thoughts for the time being.
The female had spoken.. and he walked away with the word 'Rothbart'. What did that mean? He was seriously frustrated in his current state, so leaving the area for awhile felt like the best option for his sanity.
