We've all heard of the Goodwill store, where you donate old stuff you don't want anymore and they sell it to people who do want it for dirt-cheap. Well, this is the Goodwill store of Gaia! If you have a bunch of extra stuff that you never use cluttering up your inventory, or if you’re just feeling generous, you can donate your extra items and we’ll give them to people who need them. Only here, it’s all completely free!
How does it work?
All the items we have available will be listed in the item list stickies in the main forum. Just brows the list to see what we have. Inexpensive store items (999g and under) and other common items will be listed in the “Request Item List” thread. Expensive store items (1k and over), uncommons, rares, even items, and monthly collectibles will be listed in the “Raffle Item List” thread.
Request Items:
If you see something you want in the
Request Item List, just ask for it! Of no one else requests it within 24 hours of your request, it’s all yours! If someone else does request it within that time period, and we only have one of that item, one of the crew will use the “random number” post feature to decide who gets it. You may request multiple items if you want, but please don’t request more than 10 items at a time. We want to spread them out a little, and 10 items at a time seems more than fair.
Raffle Items:
If you see something you want in the
Raffle Item List, click on the item name and it will take you to the raffle thread for that item. Just post in that thread that you want to enter the raffle (and post the spot number if you have a preference), and you’ll be entered. There will be a fixed number of spots in each raffle, and once all of them are full one of the crew will use the “random number” post feature to pick a winner. You may enter as many raffles as you want, but you may only have one spot per raffle
The Rules:
1. Please don’t request to be sent or entered in a raffle for an item which you already have, or that cannot be worn by your avatar. The idea is to give the items to people who want to use them, not sell them.
2. Please keep your posts in the appropriate threads. Keep item requests in the request item threads, raffle entries in their respective raffle threads, and please don’t carry on conversations in the request and raffle threads. It will be much easier for the crew to update raffles and such without having to weed through conversations to find the entry requests.
3. Be polite and respectful, and follow the Gaia Terms of Service.
4. Please don’t repeat your requests. We read all of the posts in the request and raffle threads. You only have to post your request once, and we will see it.
5. You may enter as many raffles as you want, but you may only have one slot in each raffle.
6. If you are sent an item, please confirm the trade within 15 days or the item will be put up for grabs again. Or in the case of a raffle, a new winner will be chosen from the list.
8. Keep in mind that this Charity primarily donates items, not gold. You may advertise your quests in the appropriate thread, but please do not beg gold from us.
How do I donate?
If you want to donate items or gold, send a trade to the mascot, G.G.W. with "Goodwill Donation" in the subject title. All gold will go to purchase items for the charity, or be given out in special raffles. We make no profits from this what so ever, but do it purely to help our fellow Gaians.
