It was a nice day and the white lioness wandered out of the den she had spent the last few nights in. Her violet eyes scanned the area around her before approaching the waterhole nearby. Once reaching the water's edge she stared down at her reflection absentmindedly.
She then sat and continued to stare at the waters surface. She sat almost completely still, only her chest moving up and down and her eyes blinking every now and then. Suddenly she lifted a paw and dropped it in the water breaking the surface tension that made the water so very smooth.
Malika's eyes followed the ripples as they moved out away from her paw before finally vanishing only to reappear again when she lifted her soaked paw out of the water.

Well, at least now Noyana had found her limit for her size. Though she could bring down a klipspringer, she was still too small to even attempt to bring down a water buffalo. The young lioness had run when it charged her, and she was still running, though she knew she'd lost it. Never EVER take a chance, not with something of that size. She would be willing to bet that it could even kill a full grown lioness. She finally reached an exhaustion point, however, and had to stop at the water hole. She didn't even notice the white adult at first, not until after she'd gotten a huge mouthful of water. She practically inhaled it before saying to the stranger, between pants, "Hello there."

Malika snapped out of her daze the moment she hear the juve's voice. She turned her head toward the source and smiled lightly. "Hello." She replied in a cheerful but soft tone of voice. "Were you just playing a game or hunting small prey?" The adult questioned tilting her head slightly when she heard the pants.
"Ah, my name is Malika'Eusi." She told the other politely figuring that it was never bad to get to know anyone, not now at least. Besides she had never had a bad experience with a young lion.

"Large prey, actually," Noyana said matter-of-factly. And yet, somehow, there was no pride in her voice, none even for the courage she'd displayed by attempting. She found her abilities amazing, but... Nothing worth noting to the average lion. She didn't brag to strangers unless they provoked her ego.
"I went after a water buffalo," she said with a sheepish grin. "I've brought down a klipspringer before," she neglected to mention that it had been old and injured, "and those are bigger than me. I just decided to try one more step up. Found my limit though," she said as she caught her breath.
She pondered the lioness' name. "Malika... I don't think I've ever heard of you before, are you new around here?" Noyana asked as she took a seat, twitching her ear to make sure she didn't lose that feather of hers in the flight. She was relieved to find it was still there.

The lioness chuckled lightly. "Aren't you a brave one?" She asked still smiling. She remembered hunting when little, but she had never gone after a water buffalo, those were waaaaaay too big for her at that age. Even now she had problems with them, and she was fully grown!
To imagine a lioness, not too much older than a cub but old enough trying to take on that prey beast? Well it a bit foolish since she could have been killed, but she condemmed her on her bravery.
"Ah! Well yes, I've been here a few day. So yes, I'm new." She replied looking to the water ever so briefly before looking back at the yellow juve. "It's nice to meet you"

"Nice to meet you, Malika," she said before realizing she hadn't told the lioness her name yet. "I'm Noyana," she tacked onto the end of her last sentence quickly. "Have you been shown around? Finding food ok?" Noyana asked. She took her duty to feed pridemembers, and even non-pridemembers, very seriously. Even at this young age, she was already feeding younger mouths; older ones too. Civil duty and the reputation of being a good huntress, those were the two parts to feeding others that she saw.
She gave the stranger a smile as she sat down. Malika probably didn't understand the politics in the pridelands- most members didn't know they existed... Yet. Taka's grandchildren, though, were her age. They were getting stronger, Noyana knew that the day the rightful heirs took their place was not a matter of if, but when. But she wouldn't bother the newcomer with such matters, not until the day comes when everyone absolutely must pick a side.

"Noyana, that's a nice name." She commented thoughtfully. She then nodded at the juve's question. "Yes, thank you. My friend has been showing me around." It felt nice to have someone ask her if she was being taken care of, even if it was by someone who was younger than she was. "That's very thoughtful of you, thank you for asking."
Malika had only been in the pridelands for a few days but she was already loving it. Everyone that she had met was all so nice and it was comforting to no. "I haven't seen all of the pridelands but every bit I have seen has been so beautiful.

"Good to hear you like it," Noyana said with a cheerful smile. She checked quickly to make sure nobody was around that would get her in trouble for her next suggestion...
"Have you seen the huge canyon just beyond the borders?" She'd been there with Tufah before and had had quite the adventure... "Or maybe something else interesting?" The bright lioness tilted her head. Nothing excited Noyana more than exploring someplace that could very well get her killed. Surviving such things made her feel stronger, more cocky, and she just enjoyed the rush.

"It's hard not to." She replied still cheerful as ever. Then at Noyana's question she had to think about it.
Finally she shook her head. "No I haven't, unfortunately, I haven't strayed very far from this area..." She paused before laughing at herself. "Afraid of getting lost I suppose."

Noyana beamed at the lioness' response. She took a quick look over her shoulder for no apparent reason, really, but she decided it'd be best if her family didn't overhear. No reason for her mother to needlessly worry. Nothing would happen, but... Her mom might be concerned to know Noyana was meandering out by (and beyond) the border. "I know the way, you won't get lost! I can show you around the borders," She said brightly.
She always got a rush from meandering out by the borders. Perhaps it was the fact that danger could be lurking out there, even though she'd never run into it.

A quizzical look formed on the pale female's features at the yellow female's rather...odd behavior. She nodded slowly, her brain registering what had been said. It sounded a bit dangerous but at the same time it sounded rather fun. It couldn't hurt right?
"That sounds like fun." She glanced back at the distant den before looking back at the younger female. "Lead the way please." Malika had never done anything dangerous. Well really dangerous, she had to admit that back when she had first run off she had done some stupid and dangerous things, but then again she hadn't done any of it on purpose, it just sorta happened.
Now to do something that could be dangerous sent shivers of excitement down her spine. She'd be careful though, it would be terrible if something bad happened to either of them

The female's face lit up (As if it could get much brighter) "Awesome! Follow me, then, we'll have tons of fun!" She said taking a single bound forward then checking behind her to see that the female was following her. Where to take her? The water hole out there? The gorge? One of the millions of other cool places that surrounded these lands? Noyana wasn't sure, but this she knew: This would be a ton of fun. "Got any ideas of what to do?" She asked. This'd help her decide, at least.

She chuckled lightly at Noyana's enthusiasm, she seemed so excited! She followed after the other making sure that she wasn't too far behind her as she bound off. This was rather exciting, it was great that she was getting to see the lands and even more so that she had met someone new and they were showing her around.
Where did she want to go? That was a very good question and she had to think deeply about it. "Um...." She wrinkled her nose before deciding on something. "How about the canyons you told me about earlier?"

Noyana smiled an ear-to-ear grin. The juvenile had hoped that the white-and-green lioness would chose the gorge. Noyana loved the place- the gorge was amazingly vast, it was almost impossible to fathom. She kept at the same pace in the direction of the border, and beyond that, the gorge. "You'll like it, it's so huge! There's so much to explore and discover out there," she said as they walked. "I can almost guarantee that you've never seen anything like it!" She threw the almost in there because honestly, she'd had no idea what the lioness had seen in her life.

"I bet that I will." she agreed still smiling at the juve's enthusiasm. Her white colored paws padded softly as she followed the brightly colored female. "I probably haven't seen anything like it, I spent most of my time in this...oasis in the desert." she replied not going into any detail since she didn't really want to talk about her past.
