A figure stood poised between the many trees. It was straight and tall--prideful, one could say. All around it fluttered the remains of many leaves, sliced into uncountable pieces. Each day, with training, he could feel his control over this unusual form grow stronger and more precise. Claws flexed under furred forepaws. And yet, despite this feeling of control, he couldn't hold back the annoyed feeling that rose, slithering through his being in a detestable manner.
Cold eyes opened to the world, casting an angry glare out over the unoffending scenery. Training was one thing, but without proper battle, his skills would grow rusty. Kanda had yet to find a single Akuma in this place. For what purpose had he been sent to this world? Slowly maneuvering himself to the ground, he stretched out. Just a momentary respite from practice.

Soft paws pressed gently against the ground as the Exorcist headed towards HQ. His light colored eyes wandered about as he continued down the dirt path. This place was still new to him. Maybe some of the kitsus inside could help redirect him back to his home world.
His eyes focused upon a figure not too far in front of him. Without realizing who it was, he called out, "Hello there!" as he rushed towards the figure.

The day was peaceful enough. It even found this particular male's eyes weighing heavily. Perhaps it would be best to head back to the HQ and rest. It was slightly uncomfortable without his own room to disappear into, but the couches were softer than the ground. Muscles stretched gently as he moved to rise. But before he could do so, an annoyingly familiar voice met his ears, causing them to slide back in surprise. No. I couldn't be. Not after all this time alone.
Craning his neck, he glared behind him, lips wanting so badly to curl back and reveal angry fangs. So, it wasn't just a random, overly friendly Kitsu out for a walk. The stark, white hair and unusual scar were too obvious. "Beansprout..." he muttered, pushing himself to a stand with new quickness. "So," he sounded uninterested, while still watching the other's movements. "You're here too."

His long ears twitched at the familiar voice. The blood rushed to his face in anger as he heard the constant insult his arch nemesis always called him back in the Order HQ. His pace quickened as he glared at the taller figure.
"Who are you calling beansprout?!" He shouted as he tried to catch his breath. Gray eyes met up with Kanda's cold ones, as if eying him up for size. His angered eyes remain fixed on the taller male.
Relaxing his pose a little in all seriousness, he answered his friend [though he would probably never admit it out loud] in a curious tone, "When did you get here? And are any of the others here, too?"

Snerking, the older Exorcist shrugged as if saying 'who else?' Raven hair fell over his shoulder as he took the unspoken challenge, sizing up the competition, as well. Too bad for Allen, he had to look down. It seemed they'd both been given strange forms in this world. For what reason they'd been shifted to match the locals, he wasn't sure. At this point, he doubted the other knew, either. "I've been here for a while... A month, maybe."
A booted paw scrapped along the ground as he took an easy step back, vaguely surveying their surroundings. "No others, that I've seen," he responded further, ears sliding back. Although he hated to think it, his chances of returning to the Order and the Akuma hunt were probably increased now that he was no longer alone.

His ears flickered back slowly towards the back of his head. The news Kanda gave him was not what he was hoping for. But at least it helped to know the two of them were not alone--even if they may have preferred different company. What Allen wouldn't give to return to the Black Order...to home.
"I see..." He replied in a disappointed tone of voice. "Have there been Akumas here lately?"

The next question struck a sour chord. The logic in this mission of their's felt non-existant. First, Komui had sent him here, to this place seemingly void of Akuma or Innocence to protect. And now the moyashi was here, too. Just what had the science head's point been in sending away two of the Order's strongest with little to no guidance? Riddles weren't the older Exorcist's cup of tea. He was given missions and carried them out with precision. If that fool had meant for him to learn a lesson through this--or something equally stupid--he'd be sure to wring his neck upon returning.
"No." Just speaking that simple word darkened even the normally unpleasent expression. "No Akuma. No Innocence." He'd leave out that part about mistaking nightmares for the Earl's creations. "This mission is pointless," he added in an annoyed tone.

He frowned at Kanda's answers. Even though he knew deep inside that was the answer he was expecting, he still didn't want to hear it. Why did Komui send them here again? Not even Tim could reach The Black Order HQ. This was rather distressing. "Why did Komui-san send us here again? I can't seem to reach him through Tim."

Why? Looking around provided more questions than answers. Just why had they been sent here? He couldn't remember. It was annoying. Eyes narrowed as he thought, trying to recall anything about the mission specs. Even more annoying, the only bit of Komui's voice he could hear in his head was something about Linali getting married without telling him. Kanda mirrored his companion's frown, though in a much more bitter manner. "I don't remember," he revealed unwillingly, shutting his eyes in obvious discomfort. If honestly felt as if he'd been sent here without a briefing first. Could this place be making him slowly forget? The thought was unnerving.
