A big thank you to every one who participated in the Birthday Event. This is the first time that we've ever tried something like this, where people could not only RP but give each other points based on the participation.

I'll be sending trades to every one who participated in the event, whether it was creating an account in the database or posting in the thread. Every one who participated will get 500g just for participating, plus gold for the points you earned plus gold for every point you spent. So, someone who earned 100 points total and spent 50 points on other people will get 650g (500+100+50).

You can check your points and your ranking here. The password is "omgzlol" and you must hit the submit button. Hitting the enter key will give you an error. Here are the trades that I will be sending according to the points that people have right now:

Mr. Eccentricity: 4056g
Kyu Kohana: 4160g
Roka_Shotar: 2136g
lily564a: 1510
Fenrir SongMoon: 1555g
CantiNaota: 1574g
Elexa: 1982g
Unintentional Happiness: 845g
Disseverance: 781g
selphie395: 510g
lapair: 510g
Rukas: 510g

People who posted but didn't create an account, or created an account but didn't post, who will be getting 500g:
Luminatus: 500g
flyinghawkgirl: 500g
S1N1ST4: 500g
uBpNegima: 500g
[of.the.round.table] : 500g
shauna_marie: 500g
HFBSKFB: 500g ? this username does not exist?
Euphoric Ghost: 500g
Midnight Pain: 500g
cipheralex: 500g
kurohime_ito: 500g
Rakashi Uchiha: 500g

Well, I think I got every one!

ANY FEEDBACK WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. Did you join the event and why or why not? What could we do to make it better next time? What did you think of the points system? For instance one thing that I would do differently is have this idea for the prizes before we even started, so that people would be more motivated to spend their points liberally.

I joined the event cause well I thought it'd be fun. whee Make it better next time..? Hmm.. I'm not really sure. sweatdrop It was set up really well and I think more people should've participated. o3o After all, it's a big event. If you guys had announced the prizes beforehand I'm sure more people would've joined BUT it was a VERY pleasant surprise to find out you got gold in the end without any notification before. xD <33

The thread seemed good but the guild seemed severely underused, probably just not enough people got involved overall to really use it but it had the possibility of becoming just as active as here, and we've gotten 60 thousand posts since just before the party started.

also the point system seemed really skeletal, just a bunch of forms, that probably lost some peoples interest in it. maybe next year we could have some sort of generated images that show our progress on a selected quest and a url we can link it to that will put people in just the right spot to assist with our quest.

Overall it was good and fun, though I kinda petered out half way through from no fault of yours

I like the idea of generated images. I don't know how to pull that off but I'll ask around if we do something like this again!

Honestly, the event started around the last weeks of summer school and it started around the Gaia Summer Festival. I've been somewhat braindead after finals, and I'm still kind of drained from it. Haha. It's not complicated now that I read the rules and how the events worked, I actually really wanted to get a Literacy crab! But I gots lazy. neutral

Hum, I liked the event, but it came at a pretty bad timing, I was really busy. And I got a bit confused with the side-quests system. But all in all it was a great idea, and I'll be hoping for more next year! blaugh heart

(is that Italian in your signature?)

I agree that it was bad timing. I wanted it to be around our birthday though and our birthday isn't going to change just because of the Gaia-whatevers and school. However, maybe, if it were a much longer event, it could start BEFORE all that and END on the day of our birthday.

I noticed that people only "signed up" for the literacy and the kool quest, and pretty much only gave points for those, too. If the RP were going to be like this one was, then next time I would just take the other quests out and then that would also reduce the # of items and that might help, too.

What about an RP where your characters have to actually work IC to earn "money" and then they could spend it IC for things that they need for the RP. It's possible to set it up so that the GM(s) can give out money, say if your character worked for that day. Would any one be interested in something like that for a future RP? That is, assuming that the RP actually had a plot and all that.

See, my birthday is the same as The School Of Dedicated Poleplayers, so I tryed to post but I didnt really have enough time. It was an excellent idea and I hope they do it again next year!

I think for the best timing it should start before the actual birthday and end after then have some sort of in-RP event like a ball drop, fireworks, or a cake cutting when the birthday happens. Then with the weird time flow that RP worlds have the event could 'take place' over a two day period, but we have a week or two to RP it.

That's even better!

And we'll make sure to celebrate any body else's birthday that is falling about the same time. xd

What about doing something like this for any of the holidays?

As a community spirit raising drive I'm sure it would be a hit =). Everyone likes a little holiday fun be it birthdays, haloween, hannukah, christmas etc etc.

Halloween would be one of the best subjects for an RP celebration there is, xmas+newyears too, thanksgiving might be a little tough though.
