"Sooo," Keanu drug out the word as he practically leaned his head into the depths too far. "-do you think these things work?" The question was directed at the pale creature beside him that was also watching the black depths of the well curiously.
"Not much." The dragon replied, shifting suddenly to draw away from the pitch black. It seemed to narrow, it had actually made the hybrid feel claustrophobic for a moment after staring too long. He wasn't too large yet, but he'd managed to get caught in a few rather small doors, and squeezing through just wasn't his thing. He much prefered the brilliant sky above, or his own personal cave that they'd have dug up in the backyard. Much more suitable and spacious. "Happy though?" He added, casting a look back to check on the leopard and make sure he hadn't fallen in.
"Yea, if these worked there wouldn't be any evil in the world anymore." He mumbled, shoving himself back into an upright position and grinning at his partner. "But you're right, people feel better when they wish." People did it without thinking really, wishing for this and that. He knew he did. So why not have something you could toss those wishes into and feel more secure about it possibly occuring, even if it seemed so far off. It was that little ray of hope that shone through everything and gave people a reason to go on. That wish for their dream to come true. Whatever it was.
"But you know..." Keanu paused in walking over to Ymir, watching the white dragon a moment. "It brings up a question..." He glanced briefly at the well, then back to the dragon. "What would you wish for?" He was actually a bit curious. Ymir didn't usually mention what he wanted, so what would his wish be?

Relief, that's surely what she felt. Finally getting away from the chaos of their new home was as warm and inviting as a quilt on a cold winters day, just after a long snow. "Are coming?" Her voice was horse, but her expression was soft. "You're moving awfully slow, what's taking so long? I thought you wanted to get as far away from home as humanly possible?" Sahra grinned crookedly, her pace slowing as she alloted her companion time to catch up to her frighteningly hurried stride. They had both been under much stress as-of-late, and with her mother off working all the time, and Yin doing god knows what, they'd had no time to themselves.
"I'm coming, I' coming. Give me a break, Srra." His eyes narrowed as his stony gaze locked for a moment with hers, a quick sigh escaped from his mouth, and he rolled his eyes. "Slow it down. Watch the world around you. I know how much you want out of there, but take a breather and relax." Ephrem took a quick bound forward, slithering up to Sahra with what seemed like one quick shot. He pushed himself momentarily against her shoulder, nearly knocking her over.
"Hey!" She hissed, as he took off again, racing forward, to no particular place. "What was that for!?" She stumbled over a wide berth, a tree catching her fall. The feline let out a huff—she wasn't just about to let him get away with that, no sir! Her legs seemed to get the point before her brain did, and she was off after him like an angry wasp before she even realized it.
But were was he?
He wasn't to either side. He wasn't ahead. Where did that darn dragon even go? She had no idea. But she did wish she knew—she wish she knew a lot of things, too many—and that was asking to much. "Re?" She shouted, her run turning to a jog, then shortening to a fast walk. Her eyes scanned the horizon, but she didn't seem to come up with any elongated looking form. "Where is that dragon?" She mumbled under a another huff of frustration. Then she saw something, a strange looking contraption that she had never seen before, accompanied by...figures? Sahra blinked—maybe one of them was Re? No, no. They didn't look right. Maybe one off them had seen him. She hoped.
Jolting onward, she came a quick halt as she squinted her eyes. They looked awfully familiar...but she couldn't quite place it. Her ears twitched forward, flickering, trying to catch some audio. Wishing? Hm. She hunched down into a stalking position, easing forward slowly. Instinct, sometimes she hated it.

A low noise escaped the dragon as he tilted his head, starring curiously at his partner. "Wish for..?" He mused quietly a moment before what might have been a smile made it's way onto the dragons face. "Say wish no happen." Not that he truly believed in wishing. Action was more likely to bring about the results he wanted than any little thought could. Action combined with wishing for it was effective though. Certainly he could see using the dream as a way burner to brighten the drive. Yes, it was a good way to do things. "But for scratch?" He added, shifting slightly to nudge his head against the boy's arm to suggest he fully intended to have that wish fulfilled.
Keanu was more than happy to rub along the dragon's head around the fin that ran down his neck. "Hmm, so you won't say." Not that he couldn't guess. "Peace maybe?" He offered up, only receiving a grunt that meant no. "More? Less?" Another grunt that meant no. "You really won't say?" He paused in the action of carefully scratching under the dragon's chin seeming slightly annoyed. Then shrugging. Maybe Ymir just had some things he liked to keep even from him.
"Tell no happen." The dragon echo'd from his earlier speech. Seeming to relax before suddenly perking to attention and narrowing his eyes. Keanu hadn't been facing the direction, but he swore he'd seen something move in that direction before crouching down. The previous relaxed nature quickly dissapeared as the dragon drew to his full height, moving toward whatever it was and getting between his partner and it. An enemy? It had seemed to want to hide from them.
He sighed, finally giving up on the topic. "Alri-" The leopard paused as the dragon's attitude suddenly changed and he began slowly moving toward a target. A quick turn as he flicked an ear and tried to spot the target, but follow behind the draogn none the less. "What?" Ymir rarely hunted for food outside of the forest bordering hte backyard, so he certainly wouldn't be after something out here, so what was it? It wasn't as if someone was going to attack them at random, right?
The dragon merely grumbled before continuing forward at the thing. "Is hiding." He grunted over his shuld at Keanu before looking forward again, this time speaking loudly. "Come out."

Her slow stalk ceased, and her eyes widened. A horrified look struck her face, as if a boulder of enlightenment was suddenly crashing down onto her head, or a wave, as it usually went, but that was to run-of-the-mill. She hadn't even stopped to think if those figures might possibly be figures that posed a threat! How could she be so, so, unintelligent!? You don't just go barging up on people like that with possibly no one else around, in case something happened. Oh how she wished more than ever that Re hadn't shot off on her!
Her knees his the ground, and her ears flattened against her skull. Tail thrashing nervously, she swallowed down several yelps. A quick hiss escaped from her teeth as she shoved herself backward, trying to put more space in between her and the large form that was advancing on her. What did they want, anyways? All she wanted to do was ask a simple question! And she ended up on the ground curling up like a cornered cat.
Sahra couldn't hold them back any longer. A very frustrated yelp left her mouth, ending in a short growl. "REEE!" She called at the top of her lungs, her voice hinted with shaky unease.
From not to far away, Ephrem heard her call. What was wrong now? Was she lost? She didn't normally give up this quickly—but something alarmed him—her voice almost sounded fearful. He weaved his way out of a thicket of trees, and took off at top speed. Pushing his body tightly to the ground, his eyes were fixated on the location he believed he had heard her call. And he was right, as usual. There she was, hugging the ground with her body in a threatening posture.
Immediately he was in front of her, constricting upwards in front of the two encroaching beings, blocking their way to his precious Sahra. "Back off!" He snarled, lips curled over barred teeth—he snarled several more times in warning, and continued a constant growl. A large—what appeared to be a dragon of some sort—was approaching their standing at an alarmingly slow pace.
"What do you want? Wait..." Blinking, Ephrem's expression eased for the moment, as he gave the oncoming things a side-ward look. "You look familiar. Spotted...who else do I know that's spotted? That annoying Gopher girl, but you..." Relaxing his body, he eased to the ground, narrowing his eyes, trying to match a person with a name. "Hm...Keanu?"
Sahra wound her way up to Ephrem, sprawling herself over his long, constricted form. She sighed in relief, pressing her face into his spine. She was far to shaken, or maybe just embarrassed, to say anything, she hadn't even looked to see if it was whom Ephrem had said. But she trusted in her judgment. A pathetic mew, accompanied by a groan, slid muffled from the cheetah.
Re burst out into laughter.

The dragon had simple continued moving slowly toward what was possibly a threat, only freezing as whatever it was called out loudly. Re? What was a Re? And the thing sounded familiar, though not so much. Still, the fact remained it hadn't come out as he said, it wasn't to be trusted. Especially when something that was certainly as aggressive as he was darted out and in the way, and yet... it just wanted them getting back?
Still, instict said to respond with a similar approach. Pressing his feet further into the ground fo rbetter grounding the dragon barred his own teeth, ready to leap at the other dragon should it come forward. "You came first." It was true, he wouldn't have worried had the other side not acted as such, this certainly seemed like an aggressive pair. Something to be concerned over. Until the dragon spoke up, seeming to turn it's attention to Keanu and saying his name. The dragon eased up slightly turning his gaze to the leopard curiously. Perhaps they were fine?
"Ymir..." It was more of a scolding tone really. You didn't lunge at someone first, they had to actually do someting wrong before you should see them as dangerous. Especially when the person was a friend, this was just akward. Still, he wasn't one to dwell on it and gave the dragon a smile and a nod. "Yep, and you're Ephrem if I recall." He'd once been introduced to the dragon, hopefully he was right. Certainly that was the only of it's kind he'd met, and Re, that was his nickname?
As the girl got up it was obvious he was right, who else would be with Sahra, though she didn't seem to pay as much attention. Although Ephrem now seemed greatly amused with the whole situation, which did lighten the mood a bit. "Ymir was just worried, he didn't mean anything." An apologetic gesture as he gave the dragon a quick look. Ymir was just a stress case sometimes.
The dragon sighed, before shifting to give both of the other's a look over. They were familiar, not too much, but somewhat. Still, the dragon merely issued a light grumble as a last say on the topic before seeming to lighten up entirely and stretched as if to pretend nothing happened. "Simply worry over threat." All the explaination that was needed over the matter. Then strolling over casually to the pair in his usual manner, seeming far more friendly than previously as he moved as if to nudge the girl's hand. He wasn't above ignoring Ephrem in hopes of snagging a nice scratch for it.
And there he went doing what he always did again. So quick to forgive and beg for affection. Still, it was a better attitude than he'd had moments ago. "So, what brings you two out here?" He'd honestly just been walking around and found the area by accident. In truth he'd never seen a wishing well before so he'd gone to it out of curiosity and nothing more. A label on the side had spoken of what it was and brought up the conversation. Though perhaps the story was different for them? "And how have you two been?" It had been a while really, mainly his fault he was sure. Being cooped up for months had made it hard for people to run into him afterall.

Ephrem's laughter quickly faded as the unfamiliar dragon spoke. "Maybe, and I understand your advancement, it's only fair, but I think you got her rather wound up." A long sigh slipped out from in between his slightly parted muzzle. It was hard enough to get her in a good enough mood these days, she was so often mopey and stressed out. "I assure you, we are no threat, that, I promise." His muscles seemed to ripple as his muscular body coiled, twisting his head around to rest in Sahra's lap.
To her surprise, Re almost seemed calm, it was almost ethereal. But then again, he seemed to have obtained the position of the cool collected one as of late, since her emotions had gone haywire. "Uh, yeah..." She mumbled, ears lolling as she released a long breathe, closing her eyes tightly. Her hands fell to her dear dragon's head, and stroked him gently. "I'm just, I don't know. A little easily distraught right now, sorry. I didn't mean to cause an uproar." She groaned and let out a frustrated chirp. She bent downward, pressing the side of her face into the back of his head.
Ymir's advance caused Re to squirm out of Sahra's grasp, slightly alarmed, his head raised and his eyes narrowed. Just because he was being corporative didn't mean he wasn't still wary of unfamiliar organisms, particularly dragons. There weren't many he had meet and actually grown to like. He huffed a warning, uncoiling and slithering off the side, evading his like-kin.
Sahra shook her head, eyes following her partner as her slinked off a short distance, resting his head on a fallen log. "Well, at least someone's sociable!" Smiling softly, the feline willingly turned her darkly shaded hand palm outward, stroking his muzzle. She lifted her free hand to the side of his head, stroking in conjunction with her other appendage.
The girl didn't mind giving the dragon affection, as he willed, if at all she enjoyed the close contact, though she wouldn't freely admit to it. She seemed to relax a bit more, finally grinning as she would normally, teeth and all. "Running." Her response was quick, accompanied by another quick, wicked smile. "We got tired of the track, concrete and all, so Re convinced me that random running would be fun." She tilted her head, "What's brings the two of you out this way?"
Turning her attention back to the hybrid she knew as Ymir, she listened with a blank expression to his next question. Carefully she thought out a reply, trying to sort through everything that had happened so far, and decide what was appropriate to surrender, and what was game to be locked away deep in her subconscious. "Not so grand, as of late." Sahra answered truthfully, "Things are very...Hm, chaotic—very hectic. A lot more than normal. And it's very...frustrating." With in her eyes one could see, easily, that her mind was adrift somewhere else, somewhere far far away. "But that's beside the point, I guess. How have you been? Doing better? I've heard some things around from time to time, but I know no one can trust gossip."
Re shifted lazily, silver eyes peeking out halfway from under his lids. "That's for sure."

Not much to be done, he had simply been concerned for the health of his partner. Had she reacted in a different manner he wouldn't have been so paranoid about the matter, he did recognize her from the class afterall. She wasn't a threat really. At least, he didn't believ her to be one. Still, the dragon offered a simple nod in reply to the dragon showing he accepted the statement. They were harmless enough.
The pair did seem far moe at peace now, certainly the mood was lighter. Ephrem calm and laying down and speaking quietly. Obviously she was still a bit on edge, but not as much. "It's fine, as I said, he just worries." The leopard shrugged, not wanting to keep up the topic. It was obvious she wasn't as comfortable with it, and guilt was never fun to deal with. It wasn't like there was a reason to keep it up anyway. "If anything it's his fault for being paranoid to that extent." He added, sighing. Not that he should be giving the dragon such a hard time about that. It was his fault Ymir worried. "It's not like it was any trouble."
Ymir didn't give much note to Ephrem's retreat, all the better for him really. He'd have her all to himself. So a few steps and he gave the girl the best smile a dragon could. Though likely it was less comforting than worrisome. "Yes." He replied lightly to the comment, more than happy to simply turn his head to give her easy access to any area she wanted to scratch. Ahh, this was much better. He prefered things to be like this. "Is good." It was practically a purr more than speech. If anything there was no greater pleasure for the dragon than a good scratch here or there. Mainly on his head and neck, due to the rest of him being too covered in the harder crystaline coating he had. So he took what he could get, and that was a nice rub on his head.
Keanu paused at the reply, before nodding. Concrete wasn't nearly as nice to walk on, he did prefere the more natural feel. Partially do to the fact it was better footing and easier on his feet than concrete would ever be. "Just walking. The house was a bit loud so it was time to get out for a bit." He shrugged. "We saw the well over there and decided to look at it. Aside from that, no real reason to be out here." That was all the reason he ever needed to do anything though really.
"Eh..?" Keanu frowned at the reply, seeming at least troubled that someone else was unwell. Not that he knew what to do about it. Her troubles were with life, not something he would know how to fix. "I'm sorry to hear that, I hope things calm down so it's easier on you." Was that really all he could offer? It really did make him feela bit useless. Something so simple and yet he couldn't do a thing. Though the next comment caused a brief pause.
"Is better." The dragon chimed first before giving the leopard a chance to reply. "Not all good. Better." He grunted, briefly scowling and raising his head a bit to look at his partner. "Not good happen." He added before leaning back down to submit to more attention from the girl.
He sighed, shaking his head. "It wasn't a big deal, Ymir just worries because of it." Which was true, to an extent. "I'm fine really."
The dragon grumbled at the denial, but didn't move from the spot. "Is big deal. No more." Not that the command would have any effect really, saying it again and again was a slight though.

Sahra watched Ymir's facial expressions as the conversations continued. She could see the emotion playing about his face, his particular draconian smile made her smile herself. "Understandable." She stated simply in a wide manor, no doubt a catch all response for several things. The situation seemed to be uncomfortable for everyone, so she decided against saying anything further. It really wasn't that big of a deal. Actually, if anything, Ymir was doing a very noble thing, as little as she enjoyed getting her fur ruffled.
A frown formed upon the felines features, twisting the corners of her mouth downward to the slightest degree. Her gaze went from Keanu to Ymir, and back again—two completely different points of view. She sensed that the subject was touchy for the pair, so she stopped where she was for a moment to think. Well, she didn't want to push anything, that was for sure, Sah knew how that felt. The most important thing was that it was gone and past.
"Well," She began, struggling at slight for wording, "If you ever need to talk about something, I'm good at listening." She gave a firm nod, "And things for me should, hopefully, calm down soon. I just need to get used to everything, is all. I'll find ways to manage." Her shining white teeth seemed to appear from nowhere as she grinned in a mischievous manner, trying to change the mood.
Ephrem didn't appear to be bothered terribly by either of the individuals, and was lounging happily against his log. Letting out a large yawn, he flipped himself side-ways almost playfully, and slide his body along the cool ground until he could shove at Sahra's back with his nose. His tail thrashed about, long body sprawled out as much as physically capable. "Re, what?" She twisted around to look over her shoulder, hands still entangled around Ymir's head, stroking him to his hearts content.
The lindworm peered up at her from his upside-down position. He rolled his eyes and chuckled as best a dragon could, being playful with his bonded, complete with a motive.
That made Sahra giggle, a welcome response to Re. The cheetah quickly moved onto a new topic, taking the odd moment for all it was worth. "So you guys found a well on your walk, huh? I've seen those in movies on T.V. before. But I don't think I've ever seen one in real life. What're they for, anyways?" All she knew was that people got stuck in them sometimes, and that they were so deep, you couldn't just climb right out. She shivered for a brief second, thinking about another possible way one could get themselves stuck somewhere; she'd have to steer clear of the thing.
Re flipped over, head lifting from the ground in an alert stance. He had a curious glint in his eyes, and he kept looking between the other pair, awaiting an answer to his girl's question. It seemed something had finally sparked his interest.

The dragon was quite pleased with the girl's response. At least he wasn't being scolded again for worrying with good cause. Not that what Keanu did was really scolding, he simply stated things as he saw them. The dragon understood that and didn't let it bother him. Which was partof why they got along well, they knew not to lose their tempers with each other. Part of Ymir's heritage was fairly laid back and it showed in the dragon so long as there was no danger. Not much ruffled his feathers so to speak.
Although it was true that the topic was one that got to the hybrid. He worried, that was all. Danger was involved and he quickly lost the calm he enjoyed durring most hours when he feared for the overzealous boy that was his partner. He didn't like to worry, nor did he like seeing him carted off by people he didn't want to trust, but was forced to. He didn't like any of it. That was where the problem between the two lay. Keanu had already let it pass and he was unwilling to do the same. This was something he didn't wish to brush aside.
Though the silence was broken as the cheetah spoke up again. Ymir simply closed his eyes in response, not truly feeling there was much to talk about, and Keanu gave a brief nod. "I'll remember that." Though there was little feeling in it. It wasn't something the feline had any intention of talking with anyone about. It was just one of those topics. "But it's good that things will calm down. I'm sure you'll be fine and it will be a lot easier on you soon." And smiles were rather contagious, so one quickly popped on his face to match her's.
Afterall, what good was holding onto a bad feeling? It really was best to get over it and smile about things, holding onto it merely meant you brought yourself and others down. So when the topic seemed dropped as the darker dragon scooted up to nudge at the girl's back it was compeltely dismissed. Soon followed by a new topic.
"Well... this one was for wishing." Keanu replied, glancing over at it. "You throw in a coin and make a wish." He grinned, crossing his arms behind his head. "Do they have that kind on T.V.?" Honestly, he didn't know, he didn't really like to watch it. And even if it was on Tai had chosen the channel or it was a children's show for one of his siblings. Not that he stayed inside long enough to check which most of the time.
Ymir cast a minor look at the other dragon as it crawled up, but made no move to protest. Afterall, he was still getting his oodles of 'love' so to speak, why should he have a fit. "Wish good." He added, recalling the question he'd been asked earlier. "If wish come true what wish you make?" It was a good question in his opinion, even if they didn't answer. It made them think afterall.

Sahra felt a lot lighter at heart once she saw everyone around her so happy. It had been a while since the girl had gotten away from the gloom of their new home, and the general bitter mood everyone seemed to be in these days. Apparently she needed to try and get out of the house more often that she had been, see more people, instead of mopping around, afraid to go out and explore Durem.
"I hope you're right." Sah mumbled to herself, keeping her disgusted tone to herself. She really was getting tired of all the things her mother kept putting them through, whether it all had good reasoning, or not. The least the woman would do was swallow her stubbornness and overprotective nature and just let everyone know what was going on. Didn't they all deserve that much?
Lifting himself off the ground, Ephrem slithered up along Sahra's side, lying his head down along side of her leg, coiling partially around her. His stony colored eyes wide open.
Her tail twitched, green eyes falling half closed. The cheetah could feel herself slipping into a bit of a daze, as she always did when she thought about something a little to hard. "Wishing, huh?" She asked in a husky tone, "Never would have guessed that. That thing doesn't look like something that will grant wishes." Her expression became that of puzzlement, gaze befalling this 'wishing well' with the utmost befuddlement.
"Well," She bite the bottom of her lip, pausing a moment to think again, "I don't think I have seen this kind of well on TV, but then again they could all be the same? It kind of looks similar. I saw it on the News one night, some girl fell down one and got stuck." With all honesty, since she had started confining herself to the indoors like some pet cat, she'd started watching a lot of TV.
"What does a coin really have to do with it all?" Out of the blue Ephrem spoke out, his voice almost tangled in his thick accent. "It seems strange and out-of-place." He held his head up, constricting his lanky snake-like body upward until he was at a comfortable height.
Sahra blinked, turning her head to lock eyes with her dragon companion. "That is a good question...?" She pondered on that, but only for a moment--another question caught up her attention before she could come up with any of her out-of-contrast solutions.
"Wishing I guess can be good." It always depended on what was wished for, obviously if someone wanted to rule the world or something TV-showish like that, then it wouldn't be good. "What wish would I make? Hm. I don't really know." The feline shrugged, stealing one hand away from Ymir to pat Re on the side of the neck a few times before returning it. "Maybe a new bow?" Squinting, she quickly sported a large toothy grin, giggling a bit here and there in a sort of 'I'm kidding' fashion.
"There's so many good things to wish for. So many minute changes that could really help make things better. To many choices." Re chuckled slightly before quieting once more, his attention was caught up easily, and he appeared to be watching something off in the distance. Probably another bird.
With a smile still in tact, the cheetah nodded in agreement. "What about you two?" She asked curiously. "Anything more interesting than our useless rants?"
