It was bright and cheerful, the perfect place to bring a child or a lover. It was a happy place, full of good things and smiles. Emi had been there before.

She had been smaller and it was before she had known Dagger. It had seemed much better then but now the ice cream just seemed... icky. Like big globs of sugar that Madame yelled at you for eating. Dagger didn't seem to mind but Dagger was lovely.

The blonde was curvy and successful and loved by quite a few people. She didn't have to dance. She was outgoing enough and had plenty of friends. Despite not being thin and perfect, she was beautiful.

Emi didn't want to have any, though. Dagger had her fingers wrapped firmly around her daughters wrist and was pulling her inside. She heaved a tremendous sigh and, in the door way of the shop, turned to face the dancer.

"I thought you LIKE ice cream." Her voice was commanding and it made Emi flinch. Dagger wasn't like the Madame. She wasn't cruel or angry. Just very demanding. She wanted more out of Emi then any dance instructer did. She wanted Emi to be like any other girl. Outgoing, smiling. Beautiful.

For a moment, Emi didn't think she was going to answer. She had to. She HAD to. Her mother loved her and only wanted the best... Dagger simply didn't know how overbearing she could be.

"I do.." The swan managed to whisper finally, her shoulders hunching up against her ear-fluffs. "I just... It's fattening and Madame says--"

"Emi, you are the size of a twig. If it bothers you that much, we'll get you some sorbet or gelato, alright? It's less fattening and tastes just as good. Mybe better. Okay?"

Another moment and Emi nodded, the gesture minute. She was pulled inside.

Revon shuffled slightly as he folowed along behind his guardian. Even as mean as Flower was to him, as misbehaving as he was, it was strange not to have him along. The raven had grown accustomed to attempting to keep the dragon in check and felt akward without the clicking nails echoing behind him on the sidewalk. So... akward.

And yet relaxing.

Flower had been left in the stables for the day, Haruki deeming it to be one of those days where people just needed to relax. This was actually an excuse made due to the fact he'd taken note that the child was starting to seem more stressed than usual, barely seeming to sleep. He wasn't utterly oblivious afterall. It was also the reason for their destination.

Ah yes, ice cream, always so refreshing. And the usual shop that Haruki prefered, because the man was rather habitual in his ways. He found a worthwhile location and stuck with it, that just happened to be the current shop.

A quiet ding as the bell above the door range upon being opened. Boh figures walked in, the elder moving purposefully for the counter. He took little notice of thepeople around him, which was the cause of him not noticing the child he'd met once before. Not personally, but seen. Revon had spoken to her though.

However, the young raven did quickly notice the pure white creature he'd met once before when he'd been much younger. Emi, that was her name right? He'd briefly spoken to her after Haruki had commanded it, saying he needed to talk to more people. How odd to meet her again in the same place, still... she was a friend. So it brought a smile to the boy's face as he started to take a step forward as if to say something, then paused and glanced at Haruki. Would he be angry if he went to speak with her? Or pleased that he had a friend..?

And what if Emi didn't like him anymore, like how angry his brother had grown with him. He faltered, clutching his arms lightly before taking a breath. He'd... just say hello. And if she got angry ask her to forgive him. Haruki liked when he made friends so this was good. He was being good. That's what he wanted.

A few steps closer before he managed to speak up slightly, though he was almost as quiet as the swan in his speech. "U-uh... E-emi?" It was Emi right? Oh, how akward if it wasn't...

The girl was agonizing over what kind of sorbet she was going to get. Just one scoop. A tiny one, in a plain waffle cone. But what flavor? Raspberry? Strawberry? There was a blueberry gelato. Gelato was good too. Dagger was chatting up the guy at the counter... He was more impressed at her chest then anything she was actually saying. Emi knew she tried to make it so. She only said things that mattered to Rakhazbun or Daemon.

She hesitated, chewing at her lower lip at the intense thought until...

"U-uh.. E-emi?"

Anothers person small voice made her shoulders tighten and she twisted around, eyes widening when she saw a familier face. Keivlos? No. No, this was the softer spoken one. She was smaller when she had first met him and it seemed almost like a different life.

She knew she liked him, though. He was sweet.

"Revon?" Her voice was hesitant in return. She hoped that was his name. It would be horrendously embarressing if she mistook Keivlos' twin (They WERE twins, right?) for another name. Lst time she had saw him, Emi remembered, she claimed that Keivlos had stolen the other crows face.

Dagger paused in her talking, casting the little boy and girl a curious glance. Thankfully, she ignored them. Emi had to talk on her own, she had to learn when to talk and when to make friends. All of those good things.

"Hi." The next word was a little squeak and the girls cheeks colored pink, almost as bright as the boys hair. "It's been a little while, Revon." A hesitation and... Well, honestly? Daggers prescence made her gain a bit more confidence. Or at least fear in not displaing fake confidence. "You... you have a brother, right? Keivlos? Or.. or there's.. there's a boy who looks a lot like you."

Of course, it didn't occur to her that Revon might not LIKE the other boy... Ah well. That for another time.
PostPosted: Tue Sep 11, 2007 8:06 pm

Flavours were actually simple for the boy. Strawberry. It had always been his favourite due to the shade it was. Which was why the boy's guardian bother to ask what the child wanted and simply continued on to get in line. Which seemed like it wouldn't be moving for a while. What a bother.

Ah! He'd been right. The boy beamed, nodding a bit at the mention of his name. she didn't seem mad either, she'd even said hi. "Hello." He nodded at her next statement, it had been quite a while. Long before he'd gotten Flower, and... he didn't remind. Quite a bit though. "Uh-huh. Is my brother well?" There was a hint of sadness at that. He hadn't seen Keivlos since the fight, which caused a bit of pain inside of him. He didn't like thinking his brother was angry, nor did he like being away from him so much. "I... don't get to see him much." He added, glancing off before forcing a smile back on his face. "So, how is he?" He didn't realize that it might have been a bit akward to ask her that, that perhaps she hadn't seen him recently either, but... he wanted to know. They were brother's afterall.

As for the matter of liking Keivlos, ah, he adored his brother. He was one to be idolized afterall. Keivlos never did anything bad, not like him. Keivlos was a good bird, that's what he wanted to be. But he just seemed to mess up everytime he tried. He sighed slightly at the thought. "And... h-how have you been?" That's right. He probably should at least ask about her, it was only polite. Even if he was more concerned about his brother.

Haruki frowned at the woman's back as he crossed his arms, waiting silently as she gabbed on seemingly endlessly with the man. He wouldn't care much if it wasn't for the fact he needed to speak to that fellow about getting the ice cream fo the raven. Not that it seemed he'd be leaving anytime soon with the child speaking with the young girl. How ironic, hadn't he met her in this very shop?

Emi let the boy work out his own emotions and words quietly. She was good at that. Good at listening anyway. That's what Rakha said, sometimes, when he told her stories of the place he had come from. Daemon said she was too quiet for her own ggood and if she took everything so seriously, she wouldn't escape from the house alive. She didn't know what that meant but she knew she rather liked being alive. Breathing was a plus, in her book.

"He.. He's fine. Very quiet though..." Small lips pull down into a quiet, contemplative frown. "He never talks very much to me but.. but he appears alright? I like him. He is very nice."

Now he was, anyway. Keivlos had stopped yelling at her ever since she had asked him not to. He had even showed her his toys and his little doll. She thought it was all rather sweet... That the boy just needed someone to care for him and listen to him and let him express himself. Emi was good at that. Keivlos was just as quiet as she was, really. It made her sad that he didn't seem to have so many playmates.

That, and his toys hurt him. That was always a sad thing.

"I.. I've been alright.." Emi nodded a little bit, shifting a bit self-conciously. Talking about herself was... it was a pain. She would prefer to talk about someone else, SOMETHING else. Anything. Everything else. She would prefer the boy to start chatting her ear off, like Cleo or Dagger or someone. They were easy to deal with. Revon required equal communication.

He was just like her. The thought was rather pleasing. She almost smiled. "...what about you?"

Dagger paused, after ordering her daughter two scoops of strawberry gelato and herself a small bowl of french vanilla. There was a man there. He was glowering and looked rather unpleasent. Considering that there were only two other people besides herself and Emi, she could only assume that Haru was the boys father.

"Are YOU this little boys father? You're too young and handsome to have a boy his age!" Her voice was cheerful, small hands perched on her ample hips in a same flamboyant manner. She could tell Revon was a boy, oddly enough. She had dealt with Emi enough and her sister and others enough to know exactly what was what. ...unless they were transgender. Those people confused the poor blonde. "I'm Emi's mother. My name is Dagger~ It's a PLEASURE to meet you!"

The blonde was a bit overbearing and very much into being out there. She considered her warm welcomes a gracious attribute, alog with other, tangible, features. There was a bright smile on her face as those arms, slim and strong, reached up to grab Harus shoulders. It was a hug, of course, that she was giving him, but it involved yanking the other persons face down and right into her chest.

"And so TALL~ It's so hard to find a good looking man who's so tall and who can still glare and look attractive! There, there, Emis friends father, we'll get to be the best of friends!"
PostPosted: Tue Sep 11, 2007 9:45 pm

He was doing well. The boy managed a small smile, still fairly depressed over the fact he couldn't see Keivlos himself, but looking a bit pleased. Especially with the fact she agreed in that his brother was nice. Haruki hated Keivlos, he hated him so much. It really wasn't a good feeling that was left when he knew that if he got what he wanted, to be a good bird like his brother, he'd be hated too. But he wanted to get along with his brother again, to have his brother tell him he did well. That's what he wanted most, so he had too... right?

Tugging lightly at the end of his skirt, he finally shoved it aside enough to nod and reply to the girl, a quick 'I'm glad' before he listened to her speak again. "That's good." Certainly, he liked to hear that other's were well. Wasn't that the point to life, to do well and be happy? But aside from finding that out... He paused, glancing at the floor, what did he say? She hadn't suggested anything, or even said more. Aside from asking about him, which wasn't something he wante dto talk much about. "U-uh... okay?" It was a rather unsteady thing. He wasn't doing too poorly, but he truly missed his brother and wanted to see him. He was upset at himself for being so stupid and bad and making Keivlos angry. But he wasn't ill, or tired. He was... alright. At least he thought.

So question answered there was a bit of a silence as the boy tried to come up with something to say. All that came was asking her what she wanted to talk about. He really was lousy at this... maybe he should as Haru- or not.

The boy was just looking up to look for advice in the matter when he noted the woman speaking. How had he missed it before? She was being a bit loud, announcing her name and such. He stared silently a moment until she literally grabbed his guardian and caused what appeared to be a faceplant into her chest. Which earned a severly shocked expression from the child. He'd never seen that happen before. Never ever.

Finally, she'd ordered. He'd be able to get Revon's treat and find something more interesting to do than glare at the woman's back. Or so he thought. The moment the woman turned around she was talking to him, complimenting him. Which was rather akward, he didn't know this woman and she was just saying things about him? If anything it caught the red-head a bit off guard, enough that he missed the fact she'd called him Revon's father, something he would deny instantly normally. And she was still talking, looking a bit upset over the fact he was apparently 'too young.' He was twnety now wasn't he? That wasn't so young. Was it?

Still, the woman had introduced herself as the swan's mother, apparently named Dagger, what a name, and she was oh so happy to meet him. Not that his expression had changed much, aside from the brief brow that might have raised at her earlier comment he'd managed to look a bit unimpressed through her talk. Bored really. And then the woman moved rather quickly, catching his shoulder and dragging him down into something rather... squishy and...

It was about that time that he realized WHAT his face was smooshed up against as the woman kept talking. More compliments and a statement. But he wasn't paying too much attention, his mind was wrapping around the fact that his face was squished up against the woman's bust. Which was rather large, not that he'd cared much before, but it seemed to matter now that he was being held against it. Not in that way of course. More for the fact he didn't know how to get loose, he could just push away, then he'd practically be groping her, but he couldn't stay like this. He wanted to escape, oh yes he did, but how!?

For a few moments his arms waved as he attempted to get the point across he was NOT happy with the situation before the lack of an answer seemed to cause a pause in thought. He just froze, arms dropping down suddenly. And it was as if an off switch had been hit. Possibly because little truly shocked him into a lack of action, and perhaps combined with the fact that he had a general rule of not liking physical contact, it has been as if someone flicked off his switch. A short circuit in his system in hoeps of clearing the overload of attempts to put two and two together and make something other than five. Either way, it was obvious that the man couldn't handle a face full of boobs. To put it quite bluntly.

Emi fell silent with the small crow boy. Yes. What was there to talk about now? They had done the nicities and, while she liked Revon, Emi was much too shy and try to initiate more conversation. But he had started the initial conversation...

Didn't that obligate her to continue it, as she didn't offer anything new to begin with? Or was that his job, as he was the one who started it? The complexities of real conversations were lost to her, leaving the girl stumbling wildly throughout her mind. So her shoulders just stayed rigid and -

Oh no.

Dagger was talking. Dagger was talking loudly and she was introducing herself. Oh no, oh no.

Blood colored Emis cheeks before she even turned around to see the action. Revon was staring and that only meant one thing. When the picture came into view... Emi groaned inside of her head.

Oh no.

The swans hands flew to her mouth in horror as Dagger spoke cheerfully to the man as his face was buried against her ample bosom. While she was smiling, there was a glint in the blondes eye that she only got when Daemon made a snarky comment or when Rakhaz was being particuarily grumpy.

This wasn't going to end well.

Dagger released the man after another moment, after his arms had gone still, and she held him at an arms length. A cheerful smile was etched on her lovely face, a movement practiced and strained by years and years or wearing it.

"Well, Emi's friends father, you're probably wondering why I did that. Glaring irritates me." The smile grew and it's beauty cracked, sparkling like a mirror. She was too used to smiling and to being forced to do so to honestly mean anything bigger thena small grin. "It irritates me quite a bit! Rapier dishes out as well as she gives but I only have the shock value. So please don't glare at me anymore, 'kay?"

Emis face was still pressed into her hands. She was groaning. This was bad.

Revon hadn't noticed the other child's reaction much. Just that his guardian seemed to briefly panic before he stopped moving. Haru had never done that before, at least not when someone was near him. He always seemed annoyed. Angry. And he wasn't pushing her away. This didn't make sense at all, which did cause a bit of worry in the young raven. Not that he voiced it, he simply watched as the women held him away a bit and spoke. Though he did raise a hand as if to reach out before letting it drop.

Haru simply stared blankly at the woman, though it wasn't so much as at her as he was trying to regain what sense of mentality he had had previously. System had shut and and were still trying to restart. The little tick going along as they inched further along to being where they had previously. Talking, talking. Someone was talking. About how glarring bothered them, and to what extent it did. So no more of that..? Was that it. This could all be avoided with no more of that. But was was it that would be avoided?

"H-ha?" It was a quiet question from the boy as he inched over to check and make sure the woman hadn't somehow killed his father of sorts. It was obvious the boy was fairly vexed until it seemed his keeper suddenly snapped to attention.

As if a timer had gone off the man suddenly took a jerky step back, lifting an arm as if to ward the woman off, obvious annoyance on his face. At least that hid the embarrassment, and god knew what else was going through his head. "Have you no sense of personal space!?" And... the request had been lost on him, he was already glarring frostily at the woman, though much more on guard now.

Revon actually seemed relieved at that, althought it quickly turned to worry once more. That wasn't good, he wanted to be able to be friends with Emi, if Haruki fought with her... "U-uh..."

Dagger beamed at the man as he stared at her, canting her pretty face to the side. She knew, from years of practice, that it made her look even more innocent as those blonde waves tumbled over her face and over her shoulder. Dagger was a lovely woman. She knew it. She exploited it.

She ignored the young boy, even as Emi bemoaned her fate quietly into her hands. The womans rather diminutive hands remained on Harus shoulders until he took that step back. They fell limply to her sides, that smile still on her lips.

"Not since I was twelve and sold, nope! Besides, your glaring disrupts MY little personal bubble. It's not like my breasts were going to smother you anyway. They don't bite. And you aren't -gay- either, I can tell. Here you go, dear." The strawberry gelato was pushed at Emi and the swan girl looked up with a rather horrified look to her face.

Emi obeyed anyway, taking two small steps over to tentively take the ice cream from her mother. She retreated almost immediately, chewing at her lower lip as she looked between the two.

THe poor girl almost let out a sigh of relief when the practiced smile left her mothers face and Dagger was... herself again. Overbearing and a bit loud but not really as destructive as the concubine facade was. Not as prone as squishing boobs, either.

"Look. I'm sorry. My name really IS Dagger, though, and glaring really DOES piss me off. I'm sorry. Start over?" She thrust her hand out cordially, offering a milder smile, not so broken and cracked like the other had been prone to. "Let me buy your ice cream as an apology to almost drowning you in my chest."

Sadly, all the appearance in the world wouldn't change the man's view of her. She could look however she wanted, the fact was ththis opinion of her was anything but sweet or innocent. He saw her as nothing, but trouble, which was likely not far from the truth the way the woman abused that. Alas, all the beauty in the world wasn't going to shake the man, he was, infact, good at ignoring such things when it came to people. Afterall, he'd been working to hate everyone so long. That meant hating their appearance too.

Though her response did cause a slight faulter in his anger. Sold..? It didn't last long though, a good guard was important when dealing with people. Even if that was chipping at the back of his mind as he tried to comprehend what she meant by it, even if he already knew. He didn't want to imagine it really, or take into consideration she knew anything of the sort of pain that came with such. Honestly, it was easier just to resign himself to the belief people could never understand. Someone knowing the same thing... was too much trouble. He wanted no part in it. "I don't see how that even begins to make sense." A glare in no way closed in on someone, and how did the fact it hadn't hurt him make it right? Honestly, such logic. And presuming so much, what a bother. She knew nothing, how could she pretend she understood.

Revon frowned slightly, but let it go. Haruki didn't seem to want to be involved in the conversation, and it wouldn't do to try and butt into something like that.Best to avoid it, besides, there was a new topic to possibly bring up. Something that would hopefullly ease the knot forming in his stomach. Afterall, talkinga bout things he liked was more fun.

Managing a small smile as he backed off along with the girl, he gave one last look to the parents. It wasn't too odd anyway, Haru rarely got along with anyone. This was... normal. Normal was fine.

"S-so you l-like strawberry too?" He finally managed to ask quietly after looking away, digging on foot into the ground a bit and trying to push back the previous feelings. It was ok, things would be ok, nothing was wrong. This was all normal. Yes, it would be fine. Hopefully.

An apology? Not that it changed the man's opinion of the woman much, but it seemed she'd as least decided that it wasn't fair to do what she'd done. He'd at least bestow a more neutral expression on her for that, even a brief business-like handshake. She was a parent afterall, he'd need to be on some form of terms. "There is no need for that." He added at the end of her statement. And he'd prefere she not mention that moment any further. "I'm capable of dealing with things myself." He withdrew his hand as soon as the shake was over, seeming rather eager to be done with the formality. "I'll have to update the file." He added under his breath with a sigh, closing his eyes before starting for the counter as if to disregard Dagger. As soon as he returned to the office he'd make a note of the insanity this woman seemed to be held by. In the meantime he needed to get Revon the ice cream he'd promised. Nothing for himself of course.

"No, I don't suppose you do..." Her voice was musing, although she only spoke until after he shook her hand. That small smile was still there despite Harus rudeness, and her hands moved to her hips to drum gently fingers at the contoured skirt. "I didn't say there was a NEED, mister man who refuses to tell me his name. Not everything in this world is needed - luxuries are good for you sometimes."

Dagger shrugged, glancing at the still staring icecream man. "Besides. He's far more interested in pleasing me then pleasing you, Emis friends father. Come on. I'll bet your a chocolate man. Simple but not as flavorless as regular vanilla and if some of it falls, it doesn't stain as badly if it hits dark clothing."

"Not that I think you'd let it stain." The woman amended finally, glancing over towards the ice cream attendent. With her ears, long and slim, like an elves, she heard Revons comment on the affection for strawberry. "And two more - chocolate and strawberry, please."

"Momma's a little bossy." Emis voice was just barely a murmur, just a soft breath of air and she took a quick bite into her ice cream to keep herself from flushing. She was a biter when it came to her ice cream, licking only when it got closer to the cone. The swan swallowed the bite of ice cream as it started to melt and gave Revon a slightly nervous glance.

"Uh-huh. Strawberry and raspberry... They're good. And pink." For a minute, the brown eyes watched the little frozen treat before taking another, smaller bite . "I like pink. Momma doesn't let me wear it anymore."
PostPosted: Sun Sep 16, 2007 8:30 pm

Of course not. Why would he. He saw absolutely no point to any of it, or even the conversation they were having. He crossed his arms after the shake, casting the woman a brief glare at the comment. "You never inquired." He said curtly before pausing. "But since you seem to want to know. It's Haruki Mitsu. And the boy's name is Revon." He added, not bothering to speak further. Though it seemed things wouldn't be dropped there. Oh no, she had to go further over the line.

Casting the woman an icy glare as she dared to try and guess what he liked, even going to far as to believe he was a 'chocolate man' as she put it. He didn't want ice cream in general, much less to have someone buy anything for him. Though she was right about one thing. He'd never let it get on his clothes. That would be wasteful and sloppy. Two things he prefered not to be described with.

"Cancel that chocolate, and I will be paying for the strawberry." He quickly said tacked on before further damage could be done by the woman. Dagger might have been bossy, as Emi put it, but Haruki wasn't the type to let someone get the better of him twice in one day. The 'hug' having been the first. "And that is the final say on the matter." He added as he began to get out his wallet to pay for the ice cream, casting a look at the woman as he did. "You're wrong. The answer was none of the above. I hate sweets."

Revon simply stared at the exchange, quite thankful he wasn't part of it. She did seem bossy, like Haru was really. Having to have things done her way really, and just going about them as if everyone agreed. Never giving an inch. "A bit like Ha.." He replied as quietly as Emi, turning to the girl.

He nodded. "Raspberry is good too, but not as sweet as strawberry." He replied, pausing as she stated the last bit. "That's no fun... I'm glad Ha let's me wear pink." He managed, pausing slightly. "But... I don't think I can wear it anymore." He added, starring at the floor briefly. "But I do like it."

"Ignore him." The cheerful reply made the worker falter, his youthful face flushing. He wasn't sure what to do - either way, a customer would be upset. Dagger waved her hand at Haruki, ignoring him long enough to reach over and tuck a bill - enough to pay for all of the ice cream for both orders - into the workers shirt pocket. He stuttered wordlessly and the blonde woman flashed Haruki one of those trained smiles. "Even if you hate sweets, cutie pie, it'd be rather rude to turn down a friendly gift, wouldn't it? Give your kid double if you reaaaaally don't want me to be right."

A cross between a smirk and a smile rested on that pretty, pretty face; Daggers hip popped to one side, one casual, soft hand resting on the curve of it. "Or if you really don't want me spending my money, I am always open for dinner - especially for a cute guy who didn't check me out after I squished him against me! Good moral character and I'm sure you have some interesting view points on things like philosophy, politics and other such fun affairs, right? We should do dinner. Oooh, do you like books? There's this one place RIGHT near this lovely little bookstore and they have the cutest little lattes."

Emi winced as her mother kept talking, looking back to Revon with a long-suffering expression. "I have a new daddy kind of like Ha. Except his skin is like yours and he treats me real nice even while they're arguing. They always make up, though." The swan confided in a quiet whisper. She edged a bit closer to Revon, her wings flexing just a bit at the slight movement. Her eyes widened a scant bit when she heard that he might - just might! - be forced to stop wearing pink and, in a very rare move of empathy and physical contact, Emi reached out to clasp one of Revons hands with both of her own.

"Why not?" She asked, still in that same small voice. "If you like it and he lets you, why not? I wish I could wear pink again."
