NAME Alena Tana Brightwaters
STAGE NAME The Mistral Dazzler
GENDER Female
AGE Chronologically 184; Apparent 16
HEIGHT 5'5", although she's constantly floating. So it's a tad difficult to tell.
WEIGHT A bit rude to ask a young lady, isn't it? ~90lbs, due to light frame.
EYE COLOR Aqua
HAIR COLOR Platinum Blonde
COMPLEXION Pale
RACE Sprite - Sylph
WORLD B - Titania, medieval fantasy Europe.
LANGUAGE (s) Sylvan (Fae), Common (English). For the sake of simplicity, Common in the world of Titania will stand identical to our modern day English, although she often speaks Common with verbal errors; generally misusing idioms or speaking without contradictions.
APPEARANCE Compared to the many others of her race, Alena doesn't exactly stand out physically. The Fae have always been known to be quite enchanting to the human eye; but for a sprite growing up within a society that is filled with others competing to perfect their natural beauty, doesn't exactly raise a prominent aspect for herself. Her face round and delicately refined; although childlike features are still very apparent. She has a small yet subtle chin, with a matching soft (although not necessarily flat) nose to boot. Like many of the fae creatures of Titania, her ears are slightly pointed. Her eyes are wide and can be described as almost insect like, but of course they are anything but distasteful. Her irises are a very vibrant shade of Aqua, while her pupils are simply a darker shade then the traditional black.
Her hair is naturally wavy, and is almost always kept down. All large flower rests upon her head, worn as a hat. Her platinum hair matches her pale complexion quite well. During the evening, her skin naturally exudes light, once in contact with the light of the moon (as with all members of her race). Because of her relatively weak constitution, her skin is easily damaged when given proper impact.
Like many others of her race, her build is slender and very light weight. The bone structure of sylphs are very petite when in comparison to humans. Their bones are hollow, and their anatomy processes food much more efficiently then humans, a reason for their natural physique. Still, the gift of flight is traded with a weak physical resistance, so minor wounds and diseases may prove more drastic for Alena. Her voice is described as misty and soft, although frightening and vocalized when angry or upset.
Her most astonishing feature is obviously the pair of semi-translucent, gossamer butterfly like wings. These delicate and fragile wings allow her the ability to hover almost indefinitely, and fly for short distances. She can probably fly at the maximum height of 30 feet, at the optimum speed of 15 mph. If these wings were injured in any way, they would slowly regenerate depending on the damage. Because of their dainty nature, Alena is often fluttering place to place, and is rarely ever seen walking.
PERSONALITYAlena was once a very cheerful young sprite, capable of expressing herself amply and pleasantly in nature. However, with the death of her father years ago, catastrophic events soon took place, shifting the very base of her happy childhood. Her mother soon remarried, and she was unfortunately taken under the fallen wings of her Step Father. After these events have successfully taken a prodigious turn on her life, her personality soon became heavily influenced under her Step Father's reign over the Brightwater manor. At present time, Alena is much more of a solemn person then she once was, due to the bitter years she had to endure with her integrated family. Her Step Father was cruel; his dictation soon led the sprite to a calamitous life. And because of that, Alena is often pessimistic at times.
Still, she not entirely consumed with bitter feelings or wishful thinking. She still displays strong idealism and independence, and it is obvious to see that her Step Father has unexpectedly brought her up to become a strong feminist. She is not afraid to speak her mind or administer blunt comments and remarks. Honest to the fault; yet still rebellious enough to be considered a lover of chaos, Alena strives for freedom. She is very brave and courageous, and she is never afraid to try new things. Obviously, she is easily angered if she is rudely commanded, and may unexpectedly unleash her powers in dangerous manners.
Deep down, the sprite still carries a bit of her wild, jubilant nature from her childhood. Although quiet, she is generally amiable to strangers; never to far to lend a helping hand if required. She is undoubtedly hard working and fair, never quick to judge nor quick to anger. Secretly, there are times in when she derives a bit of pleasure from playing harmless and humorous pranks and games, a trait then many of the Fae folk share. However, she is often trying to conceal anything that sounds preposterous, Alena tries desperately to remain serious when having a bit of an urge for some light hearted fun.
At times, it seems she is slightly anti-spontaneous. She's not the person that should be expected to roam around, introducing herself to people. It makes her sound slightly snobbish, but she prefers to have others introduce themselves beforehand. Reserved and stoic, she doesn't have any problems with doing manual labor before reaching her goal. Having been reduced to performing mundane chores and physical labor when her Step Father had taken over, Alena has become accustomed in cleaning and various household work. Oddly, she herself has grown to be attached to cooking and cleaning, but of course, this is something she would never admit.
Aside from all the above, the sprite often keeps her sadness and grief to herself. She has learned to be realistic in accepting failure or tragedy, often redirecting these feelings to her work and chores. Still, she is often restless when staying any where too long, and deeply dreams about an adventurous life. She remains at the manor, until her first flowering (mark of womanhood for Sylph, equivalent to the age of sixteen). With this, she escapes her dreary life as a simple household maiden. And this is where her story begins...

HISTORYAlena Tana Brightwaters was born to a blissful, wealthy noble Sprite family within the capitol city of Florenadail, to two equally loving parents. She was the first female born to the Brightwaters family within several generations, and therefore, their daughter was held within high regards. She was exceptionally talented in the field of sorcery, being born with the rare, innate talent to manipulate and generate storm fields; in other words, she could control various aspects of the weather in small degrees. As these abilities soon became apparent, news quickly spread across the city. This news soon came to the attention of a powerful yet ambitious wizard, Shadar Dolorias. Although Dolorias was a remarkable spell caster, he was also very greedy and cunning, and was known to be quite odd in comparison to the typical sprite. Dolorias was immediately intrigued by the ability of the young child, soon searching for numerous ways to contact the Brightwater family. After finding the family manor, the wizard soon offered his teachings to the young sprite, proposing that Alena should become his apprentice, so she could expand her powers. Although Alena wasn't taken to Dolorias at first, she reluctantly accepted his offer due to the constant carping of her parents. Their contract came in form of a necklace, one that Alena must always wear.
Unfortunately, many appalling events began to kick off once his offer was accepted. Soon, her father was mysteriously taken by an undiscovered illness. Her mother soon then began behaving strangely around Dolorias, a rather eerie flirtatious relationship started to reveal itself. Alena was very suspicious of her seemingly open instructor, she constantly knew that something didn't seem right. Although he did seem to have the best intentions in mind, the young sprite couldn't bare with the odd events that surrounded the manor. Alena's mother growingly distanced herself from her daughter, almost deliriously referring to her as obscene titles as the "maid" or "that girl." And by each passing day she spent with Dolorias, she found that she was not only losing her once, grand zeal; but for some odd reason, her magic slowly deteriorated, until the point of powers were very weak. Her instructor merely shrugged at her questions, only suggesting it was just the result of ineptitude and loss of will power. Her continued questions only fueled Dolorias's lack of patience, and soon, his anger gradually adapted to overall mistreatment of his apprentice.
Years continued to pass on. Dolorias soon married Alena's mother, something that the sprite could not immediately accept. As her rage and rebellion started up against her new father, the odd tragedies continued to arise. Soon, she discovered that her mother had not only agreed to Dolorias's cruelty, but also had stationed her as a household servant, her items and belongings soon discarded. Forced to work as a maid for the house, Alena grudgingly worked with constant argument. She could feel that she was losing herself day after day... until she could no longer rebel against her Step Father. As she watched her mother and step father enjoy their gaudy life, she developed feelings of bitter depression. Her passive aggressive nature continued to spark the fire of hatred that burned against not only her step father, but her life itself.
One day, after trailing into the Calamitar forest to fetch water from a nearby river, she had noticed a pair of fae children, fooling around by the riverbank. She watched them closely as one was playing the dominate leader, while the other simply followed and took orders. As she continued to observe this, she mentally compared herself to the submissive child. She could see what exactly happened for her to fall to such a state. As she was about to daze off into her own thoughts, the submissive child tripped into the river after taking a command from the other child. As she quickly soared across the river to attempt a rescue, images of her life flashed through her mind as she dived into the cold waters. Images of her childhood dimmed into her present life; she felt as if she was watching someone else. While in the water, she quickly grabbed the body of the child, forcing herself to ascend back to the surface the water.
”No one controls my life…If I am to continue on with this life…I will simply end up like this child here. Drowning. Drowning in my own foolishness…”As Alena swam towards the bank with the crying child, she was filled with feelings of inspiration that she had not felt for a long time. After drying herself off, she quickly led the two children back into the city, scolding each of them before returning home. As she made her way back to the house, she closely examined the necklace that Dolorias had given her, all the years ago. Roughly pulling the necklace from her neck, she tossed down onto the ground. Taking one last look at the necklace, she bristly pelted the necklace with her shoe, stomping it several times. Strangely, after she destroyed the amulet, she could feel raw energy that seemed to completely rejuvenate her fears. Upon stumbling across her home, Alena decided it was best to linger around this broken family. Quietly fluttering back into her room, the sprite gathered her belongings ravenously. After taking her most prized belongings, Alena took one last look at her home. Ascending into the sky, Alena knew that she was finally free. And with this achieved, she flew high above the forest, with a new outlook ahead of her.
*Secretly, Dolorias is a Warlock, a type of forbidden, dark spell caster that consumes magic and spells from other magicians themselves. Alena's innate powers are extremely rare, and prove invaluable to warlock such as Dolorias. For his plan to succeed, he had to get close to the little sprite in order to obtain her abilities. From there, he required a palisade of some sort to retain her magic, an item of some sort that would slowly seal her abilities away. He gave her a necklace that she was required to wear at all times, and as time continues to pass on, her magic is slowly withheld within the amulet. The magic is completely stored when the sprite has completed her first flowering, a sign that she is beginning to transcend into adulthood. (Once a sprite comes to proper age, their antennae would fall off, and they would be able to conjure a perfect soul orb, a dazzling sphere of spectrum.) However, if the amulet is somehow broken before this event, the powers would be returned to the user.
Once controlling every aspect of Alena’s life, Dolorias became arrogant in believing that his goal of stealing her powers was already set. He had taken close eye to how she acted, and once he had examined that she had no longer the will to fight back, he could only wait until the first flowering. He was the one who murdered her father, and enchanted her mother with a love potion. Also, just some time after Alena’s 184th birthday, the first flowering had taken place. This occurs before she finds Cirque: du coeur torve.
