O, swear not by the moon, the inconstant moon,
That monthly changes in her circled orb,
Lest that thy love prove likewise variable.

Saphire hued eyes read the lines over the upteenth time, knowing them well. They were the lines of Lady Juliet the female lead of the famous Romeo and Juliet. Though she had read the play over (and seen it) many, many times, she spent a good deal of free time rereading the play and (over) analyzing the characters and innuendos hidden in the storyline. Her chin sat in her palm, her elbow perched on the cafe table outside the small shop on the boardwalk. It was closed, and within a few days it would be another addition to her family's bakery.

Fall was beginning to move in; the air was chillier with a light breeze, and some leaves could be seen being pushed off the wood and into the air, landing a few yards away. However, it didn't stop the tourists and those shopping, as many passed by the tanned, rose-haired girl as she read outside the closed cafe. Out of the corner of her eyes she could watch the passerby but didn't, afraid of catching someone's eyes and inviting them over to sit with her. Not that she would mind... but she did not like mindless chatter.

And with that, she leaned forward and went on reading, the girl attempting to enthrall herself with the all-too-known love story. However, the overbearing thought of going to a new school consistantly crept up on her thoughts, causing her to often sigh audibly and stare blankly at the text filled page. She was positive she'd stick out at Ouran, with tanned skin and red hair, and her family was surely not the richest (but certainly wealthy). That day loomed over her like a rain cloud, one she wished she could blow away.

She shook her head lightly, her brow furrowing as she attempted to bury herself back into her reading.

A blond haired boy with bright pink streaks in his hair walked past the window. He seemed quite equiped for the weather dressed in a red shirt with a black and yellow tie, over which he had a black and white striped cardigan. He had a big red and yellow scarf wrapped around his neck. It was so long that it went just below the knees of his jeans. He had fingerless black gloves on and red converse and seemed all too happy to be bundled up. He always wasn't aware of how the red in his outfit seemed to clash ever so slightly with his newly streaked (not by his own choice) hair.

Satu loved autumn. It was his favorite season. As soon as the leaves started to fall and the weater got a little cooler he would whip out his scarves and his gloves and his jumpers to wear. Satu walked along the boardwalk a small bag clutched against his chest. He had just been to the bookstore and had descided on a new book to buy. It was called "Number Nine Dream" and it sounded like a fasinating story. He walked along, ipod on, in his own little world.

Suddenly the temperatue dropped and a great gust of wind came and almost blew Satu off his feet. Seeing nowhere for shelter Satu moved over to a little corner by the closed cafe. It was the only place he could shelter himself from this sudden wind. He looked in the window, only to see a redhaired girl sitting at one of the tables. Satu, being caught off guard by this jumped about a foot in the air with fright then, worried that the girl noticed him turned around again while turning bright red.

It was hard not to watch the world going on outside of her little corner, her eyes every now and then flitting to take a glance out the window. Juliet and Romeo's constant sworning over their love had grown a tad tiresome and repetitive, not like those walking outside the closed cafe. Their lives were inconstant like the moon, and could not be guessed upon. So it was quite the shock to see someonejump outside the shop. Out of the corner of her sapphire eyes she watched him, her lips upturning slightly into an amused smile.

It was an awkward scene, smiling with amusement at a stranger outside, even if it was only a small one. He had swiftly turned around, and her smile smile disappeared. Yes yes... Awkward, she was. Against her will, she leaned over and tapped on the glass, her brows pulled together in a inquisitive look, trying to catch his attention.

The door was unlocked; he could step in for a moment and hide from the barrling winds... Or whatever made him jump.

As Satu turned around, his face still bright red his sharp ears heard a tapping behind him. His heart stopped for a second 'Damn it she saw me didn't she?' he though to himself. He waited a second to turn, to let his red face calm down a little.

Great now Satu was fairly sure that the girl though he was a complete oddball, maybe he should explain to her or something? But then again how to explain. After all Satu was off in his own little world again and it wasn't entirely normal for someone to be in their own little world. So an explination was probably out. He sighed as he felt his face starting to go back to normal. He turned to face into the girl, giving her an inquisitve looked, azure eyes meeting saphire.

His inquisitive look mirrored hers, and against her will Seraph's lips upturned into a small smile, a chuckle nearly slipping by. She swallowed it and placed pushed her book aside to a corner of the table. Her other hand came up a bit and gave a small wave as a gesture to come in, though... Hopefully he would understand. He was looking quite odd out there looking in on a closed cafe (despite someone being in there already), and his funny jump earlier...

Pushing her feet against the hardwood floor, she pushed her chair back and stood up without looking at him again. If he left by the time she opened the door well... That was fine. Seraph would rather prefer it if he didn't walk away, as it would be nice to finally meet someone that looked around her age range. She twisted the ornate handle on the door and propped it open, sticking her head out into the cold. She grimaced at first, wincing at the cold, her lips pursing to blow away strands of red hair that whipped into her face. "You can come in, if you like," she said more quietly than she would have liked. It was weird to want to welcome a stranger so readily, but when it came to actually speak to one made her shy side come out.

Satu watched in slightly confused eyes as the red haired girl got up from her chair. She had gestured to him to come in, but the cafe seemed to be closed. Satu watched nervously as she got up. Was she going to leave him staring into an empty cafe for passers by to look at him strangely? Satu thought of leaving but something was stopping him. He was intested in seeing why this girl was in the empty cafe in the first place so he stayed put, his azure eyes watching the red head through the window.

He watched her going to the door. 'You should just leave now, otherwise this is going to be so awkward and you'll make a fool of yourself infront of her. She probably thinks your stalking her or that your increadibly odd. Either way shes probably just going to make fun of you." said the little voice in Satus head. We if he was going to leave he had better leave now but Satu stayed put watching as she opened the door.

Satu could barely make out her words but for once his sharp hearing came in hand. He nodded, his pink and blond hair being blown into a fluff mess around his head. "If you don't mind." he said, his voice deep but rather distant, as though the wind was carring the sound away. He started walking over to the door as he pulled his scarf further up his face.

When he nodded, she caught onto the pink streaks in his hair, but dimissed it quickly enough. Was it the trend here to dye your hair two-tones? She was snapped out of her thoughts when he replied, his voice deep but muffled by the wind. She must've looked weird, gawking at his hair, she pushed the door open as far as it could go as to let him in, giving him room to pass by her. She did not want to walk right out into the cold.

The boy had pulled up his scarf... Was he hiding something? A ping of worry hit her. Was he hiding something? Laughing at her? She grimaced inwardly at the thought. He was cold, that was all... Right? "Umm," she began glancing in on the cafe, "You want something to drink? Hot cocoa?" She said meekly, not sure how to treat a guest in an empty cafe. Though her family did own it, she knew where the supplies were... But it was still under renovations, and was not open to the public. Hopefully she didn't appear as some hobo living in closed shops.

Satu noticed that he red haired girl was staring at his hair. He really wasn't surpriced. After all the only reason why it was dyed in the first place was that stupid dare. Now people would stare at him when he was walking around, thinking that he was trying to look stylish. If only they knew the truth.

Once Satu got into the cafe he pulled his scarf back, feeling the warmth of the cafe flood into him. He smiled plesently at the girl, his nose starting to go red with the sudden heat. "Anything warm would be brilliant thank you!" Satu said smiling again. He looked around the closed cafe. It looked like it was going to be really cosy once it was opened. "Do you own this cafe?" Satu asked with interest, his curiousity getting in the way of his well taught manners. "Oh by the way, I'm Satu, Satu Kimura. Pleased to meet you. Thanks for giving me shelter. Its freezing out there!"

She was quick to shut the door after he entered the cafe to keep the chilly wind from entering. Her fingers immediatly went to comb out her hair from being toussled gently by the wind that did mess it up, her eyes surveying her guest breifly. He as smiling - that must be a good sign that people were kind here. She had yet to meet a friendly or rude face, so it was reassuring to meet someone who accepted kindness from a stranger so easily. Her lips pulled into a very slight, shy smile with a nod, and Seraph turned briskly to walk over to the counter. Her hands were quick to push the small swing door open to get behind it, and at once set to work finding a mug.

The red-head tensed a little a his question, and glanced over her shoulder at him. Was it really that obvious? Then again, why else would someone be in a cafe that ws under construction? "Well, my family does. It's still needs some work..." Her blue eyes flickered to the unhinged door to the bathroom facilities, and the one table she had set up for herself earlier that day. She busied herself with making a quick hot cocoa, popping the drink into the microwave and setting the time.

"Oh! You could bring a chair over to the counter if you want. I haven't really set up any other tables..." She tapped her chin as she quickly surveyed the room, before looking back to him. Seraph smiled a little and nodded, giggling lightly. "Well Satu, I'm Seraph Tanaka. Pleased to meet you. I apologize if the lack of furnishing here will turn you away from the cafe once it's opened." She flashed a sheepish grin, before turning back to the microwave as it beeped loudly.

"So, Satu," she repeated his name to memorize it, "Do you attend a school nearby?" There was no harm in making casal conversation. It was a lot more refreshing than Romeo and Juliet's constant dribblings.

"Well I just kind of guessed." Satu explained awkwardly. "Also I live here so I had noticed this place being constructed. It looks really nice so far." he said smiling.

"Oh okay thank you!" Satu said walking over to the chair and lifting it over to the counter. He sat up on the chair looking around the half constructed cafe happily. He liked the look of this place. It was a quiet, dry place amungst the wind outside.

"Pleased to meet you too Seraph! Well I go to Ouran High School which is kind of near here." Satu said, thinking. He wasn't sure how exactly close it was from here to the school because he was always driven there. "Where do you attend?"

In a drawer, Seraph pulled out a pair of oven mits and slipped them on without hesitation. Her back to Satu, she pulled out the overheated mug. It was an embaressment to have to use the microwave to make hot cocoa, but due to the stove not being functional yet and not having all the correct materials... She set the mug down on a small plate, glancing over her shoulder at him. "Thanks. Hopefully it'll be open when the new school year starts..." She trailed off as she went searching through a cabinet or marshmallows.

When he mentioned the school he attended, she paused on her way to reach for the ornate bag used to keep the deliciously fluffy snack fresh in. "Ouran?" She repeated quietly to herself. She grabbed the bag gingerly with both hands as she had neglected to take the mits off, and set it on the counter where she worked. "I'll be attending Ouran when the weekend is over. Class 1B, to be specific." She couldn't help but smile as she spoke. It was very reassuring to meet a kind face that attended the school. It made her outlook on attending much more pleasant.

She unsealed the bag, and turned to look at him. "Marshmallows, or no? These have been set out to be moist, so they won't soak and expand in the cocoa, but set nicely." She spoke fondly of the food without noticing as she set the small plate and the mug infront of the boy. She took a quick, evaluating look at his face. He looked like he could be a freshman... Maybe a sophomore.

((Err... Well, I got her in a rehoming event, so I just assumed that when everyone else was a first year she'd just be transferring in. Her previous owner rped her as if she was a first year before the rehoming event, so I just decided to start fresh, if that makes any sense/ She's supposed to be promoted like everyone else too, but the artist who did her hasn't done so yet. x__o''

So I guess this'd be in the past? ))

((Okie dokie! Just wanted to make sure before I replied! ^^))

Satu smiled as he watched the girl. "You're going to be in Class 1B huh? I'm in that class too so I'll be able to show you the ropes!" he said with a kind smile. He always liked to help someone out who was new. There was nothing worse then being new and having to try and do everything on your own. "I'm sure you'll love Ouran though. It's a very nice school and everyone is very friendly there so you'll fit right it!" he said happily.

Satu nodded. "I'd love some marshmellows! Thank you very much!" he said looking down at the cocoa. It looked very tasty indeed. Satu wasn't a very good cook infact completely the opposite if the truth were to be told. He couldn't even cook toast without it being burned. He always had a huge appreciation for people who could cook. "This looks very delicious Seraph"!" he said kindly. Satu had slowly turned into a kind, happy boy rather then the spoiled little child he had been at the start of the year. He liked himself much better this way.
