Why was today so boring?!?!? Ugh, it was driving him nuts! The dark furred kitsu boy lay sprawled on his tummy, legs out limp in his state of boredom. Soul glared around at the world....or at least hte small area around him. An empty grassland, with nothing but grass to tickle his senses. Some trees created a line further down the horizon...but Soul was too lazy to go explore it.
Flicking his bright tails, Soul rolled onto his back, draping an arm over his eyes. Might as well just sleep through the whole day.

Something moved in unkempt grass. The tall blades bent to its will and form, clearing a path. A rich color swished through the green, standing out obviously, followed by another and another. Three tails swayed, rustling the grass. Paws stepped down tentatively. And finally... He pounced, latching onto the tree with a furious, yet playful growl. Tails flailed excited, lashing the grass away from him. And then, he let go. The bark just wasn't as good. It wasn't as soft as Kitsu flesh. Wasn't as gentle and tasty... The male shook his head vigorously, shooing away the unwanted thoughts.
Backing away from the tree, he moved out of the tall grass and into a field much shorter and not as itchy. Shaking a few stray pieces of green from his fur, he sighed, staring out ahead of him with curious, icy eyes. What was that? Cope jumped. Something, something, he was sure! Grinning, he bounded for the unnatural colors on the grass.

Hmm, perhaps sleep wouldn't come so easily. Teeth were shown as Soul's maw twitched in aggitation. For as 'colorful' his creativtiy was, it was difficult to pursue without motivation. "Gaaah!" Rainbow striped arms flung in the air, the kitsu throwing a tantrum. "Where is everyone?!? Did someone have a party without inviting me or something?!?" His face pouted out at such an insult, before he shrugged it away. "That's cool. Whatever. I'm too cool for those things anyways."
Reassuring himself with a confident nod, Soul made to stand. Stupid grass had clung to the back of his fur. Soul tilted his neck, sneering as he made to brush them away. That is till he caught sight of something bounding at him...almost too fast. Soul winced and flailed his arms, expecting impact. "HEY YOU, WATCH WHERE...ooph!"

Laughs erupted from the charging male as they collided, sending him head-over-heals. It hadn't been his original intention to make contact like this, but heck, it wasn't a bad thing. It only made things more fun. And fun was always good, right? Fun was distracting. Plopping down on his bottom behind the other--a near perfect flip--he laughed louder, paws favoring his already happily sore belly.
"Sorry," he said between chuckles, looking back, eyes catching black. But black wasn't the only visible color. It didn't take long for him to become captivated by the color as it seemed to pop from his victim's fur, moving in interesting patterns. His eyes widened as he followed the designs, staring thoughtlessly, mouth ever so slightly open. It wasn't that he hadn't seen colorful Kitsu before. The neons on this one just jumped out from the contrasting black.

Who the hell? Soul oophed and huffed as the weight tumblied him over, then flitted off. Well, that was certainly not boring. But it wasn't too amusing either. Mumbling and grumbling to himself, he darted up to his hinds, pointing a paw to the giggling male. "What was that about? Don't you know common courtesy?! Like leaving your superiors alone?" Teeth ground as Soul narrowed eyes, taking in the offending boy.
Or was it a boy? With that giggly energy and bubbly smile. That mask was kinda cool though. Agh, what was he saying?! Of course his own markings were way better. "Yeah, you better be sorry." Soul huffed and swished his tails, as if still not forgiving the other. A brow raised when he noticed eyes scanning over his form. "Geez dude. Go ahead and take it in, I know it's hard to ignore. X3 But I don't go that way." Nope, he lived for teasing; not flirting.

Almost all of the others words went in one ear and out the other, answered with a mere 'mhm' or 'uh-huh'. The notion probably made him seem even more discourteous, but he didn't much care at this point. Colors had captivated his senses. He was easily distracted, that was for sure. Icy eyes continued their sweep, stopping on the face and watching the speech. Speech. Yes.
Looking as if he'd finally zoned back in, Cope smiled. "Of course, I'm very sorry." It was a serious apology in his book, though it may not have sounded like one. Following suit with his newly found company, he stood, holding only his blue-marked paw above the ground in an innocent looking manner. But he was no fool and far from naive. The smile grew into a smirk as he let his eyes roam the other male again. "You don't? Isn't that too bad?" Lips parted, sporting a sharp looking set of fangs. Luckily, he hadn't inherited his father's poison. Had he, it would be a bad day for all of his biting habit victims.

A hesitant stare was all Soul could give, raising a brow at the strange boy. Was he being serious, or just a smart alick? Pft, that wasn't his problem. A dismissive shrug peeked from the black fur, and Soul lowered his offending paw into a wave. "I'm sure you are." But the issue was done and over; what did he care? Short attention spans, gotta love them.
One eye closed, the other remaining carefully on the bouncy kitsu. He didn't want another sudden attack, but at least now he was awake for it. Ears smoked in color teetered at the words, and he couldn't help but smirk. "I know, I feel so sad for all the hearts I've broken." Yes, what a shame. There just wasn't enough of him to pass around.

The fanged smirk remained a while longer, giving the younger boy a look torn between seriousness and play. But whatever seriousness there may have been faded away with his gentle laughter. "Many, I'm sure," he responded, setting his blue-marked paw down with the others. It seemed he no longer needed his cute trump card. Then again, the way things were going, it probably wouldn't have worked very well, anyway.
The corner up his lips twitched, faulting the smile ever so slightly. They'd only known each other for a few minutes and already he felt that urge welling deep within his stomach. His fangs itched to taste this one's flesh, as they did with everyone he met. "Mine included," he added jokingly to the game from before. "I'm Cope, by the way."

Soul laughed aloud as the other played along, in his own odd way. Well, this at least brightened up his day. He did blink, however, when he finally chilled enough to realiz the blue paw. His eyes glowed with a random joy. "Heyyy, you gots one colored paw like me!" A one out of four odds, that was enough to make it cool. But it was obvious who's was better. What with the stars and the swirls and the rainbow. X3
"Cope?" His head shook with a snicker. "What, you depressed or something?" His anger was thrown out the window, now in the mood to have some actual fun. "Awww, poor lad. Don't worry, it certainly won't be your last."

One colored paw like-? Lifting said paw back up from the ground, he eyed it curiously before looking, back and forth, between his own appendage and the other's. "So I do," he responded, giggling. "Must be fate." And yes, Cope really did believe in fate. The softening of his expression was enough to convey that idea. Of course, it didn't last long before he brightened again, giggles evolving into the stronger, playful laughs he would eventually be known for.
"Depressed? Me? No." A vigorous shake of the head agreed. "Far from it. I honestly have no idea why my parents named me that." Catching the final statement, he had the horrible urge to add 'maybe a little depressed because of you,' but he held it in. Still, the grin that split his maw showed his difficult attempts to hold in the joke. "Mind letting me know what I should call you? Besides gorgeous, of course." Okay, so maybe he couldn't quite hold in his jokes.

"Told ya. But geez, I figured you'd already notice that." Cope seemed to be at a slower pace of life. Just smiling and chuckling much more than retaliating back harshly. Interesting. Soul couldn't help perking his ears at that word. "Fate? What fate can there be in pelt slashes, eh?" He didn't believe in all that mumbo jumbo. Each day was just another day to wake, eat, tease and sleep. Nothing more to it than that. He prefered to call it freedom.
An open grin replied Cope. "Yeah, you don't appear one to be depressed. At least on the outside." There were so many things a smile could hide after all. "Your parents are just wierd then." His teal orbs blinked before squinting over to glare at the side. "Name's Soul-Lexis. Got that? Not girly things like gorgeous or sweetie." Those were just.......ugh. Made his fur shutter.

"Just unobservant, I guess," he decided with a shrug. While things could easily catch his attention and keep him distracted, there were times he didn't notice the most obvious of things. Banded ears slid back, flicking gently. A smile masked whatever argument he may have wanted to put up in fate's defense and soon the feeling faded. It wasn't worth losing good company. "Not much, I guess," he agreed, a genuine smile taking the place of the earlier one.
"My whole family is weird," Cope responded, laughing openly despite having just insulted his family. Hey, he couldn't help it if it was true. And the mad laughter only increased at the side-glaring and name giving. "No harm in having a feminine side, Soul-Lexis." He stuck his tongue out. The feel of it sliding between fangs made his stomach clench and shoulders stiffen. He continued to giggle, willing the feeling away with his happiness.

"Heh, that's your problem." Whereas Soul was just...rude. Ignoring things that weren't interesting wasn't a crime. Was it? If so, then he was a convicted kitsu. His star struck tails waved back and forth, enough of an excersize to entertain his sitting form. He nodded, glad that Cope at least wouldn't argue his views. That would only bristle his fur and turn his day sour.
The darker male was left blinking, before giving a throaty laugh. "Oh man! At least you can admit it!" And here he thought the other may tear up, his giggles turning into blubbering sobs. No way to add salt to this kitsu's wounds, eh? Wait, what? Soul's jaw dropped at Cope's little comment. "What on earth would be any good to having a feminine side?!? All you'll get is mood swings." Dx He was happy enough with just the hormones, thank you very much. A brow raised when his tackler seemed to freeze up. "What, cat got your tongue?"

"Ah.. No, sorry." Cope shook himself, fur fluffing out just a bit. There was that urge again. Either he'd have to find something else to distract himself or a tree to chew on soon. It had to be inherited. This need to bite things. He couldn't quite understand why it would happen otherwise. And honestly, he could do without the horrible feeling that came with an ever dwindling lack of control. "Just... nothing." A sheepish laugh.
Trying to draw attention away from his seemingly random interjection, he fake-pouted. "It's not all about mood swings, you know." As if he were an expert on women. "My sisters wouldn't agree with you, I'm sure." Or at least, he thought he was sure. He hadn't met other girls that weren't family. Who was he to say that strangers were nothing but emotional wrecks? Scrunching his nose curiously, he canted his head.

"You sure bout that?" Soul crossed his arms and stared hard at the paler kitsu. He looked antsy, or as if a cold wind had just blasted him. The star kitsu glanced around, finding nothing but grass and dirt. No threats, and no strong wind. He listened half-heartedly to Cope's explanation. Even the pout was well played into his voice. His ears did perk, however, when Cope added another interesting detail. Eyes shot back to the masked boy, Soul flashing a toothy grin. "You have sisters, eh? Ohhh, I'd like to meet them!" Always one for the ladies. Or at least making them remember his charm. X3
What a minute, what's this? Soul stood there, dead still, as Cope was....blinking. Not just blinking, but doing it as if dumbfounded. "Haven't you ever hung around other girls?" Boy was this kid sheltered or what.
