 He had reached a conclusion after his conversation with the lovely green mare... A conclusion that had taken him too long to make. As a result, it had taken him even longer to find the stallion that he had come to the conclusion about.
He recalled a bit of a conversation that he and Crowley had with one another durring a previous meeting... When he'd commented on never being able to find the stallion. It was then that he stopped moving, slipping into the shade. He wouldn't need to come to Crowley... Crowley would come to him.

"Ah, so you do remember our conversations occasionally." He'd been watching Azriphale for a bit and had been waiting for the other stallion to either start huffing about not being able to find him or for him to realize that he was already there.
When his friend had stopped he'd ducked out of the shadows he'd placed himself into with a smirk. "In need of company?"

His nose wrinkled slightly as he gave his head a light toss. "Really, Crowley, must you have so little faith?" He could, most likely, answer that question on his own. Yes, he must... It was in his nature.
"I remember our conversations more often than occassionaly." He remembered them quite often, in truth. He thought of them often as well... Even if he would rarely admit it and frequently feign forgetfullness.

"Generally you always forget certain bits of it that i distinctly remember saying." He laughed softly to himself as he stepped up beside the other stallion.
"You know i must. How often do you tell me yourself that i have no faith?" He had plenty of it. It just wasn't anything like what Azriphale though it should be.

"My memory does not fail me nearly as often as you would like to believe it does." He snorted softly as he held his head a bit higher. "I didn't come here to bicker with you, you know..." Crowley always turned conversation into that, of course. It seemed to be some sort of talent that he had... Amongst other things.

"Who said i was bickering? You just always seem to take it that way." He laughed for a moment before he nudged his friends shoulder with his. "That argument aside .... why did you come looking for me my dear Azriphale?"

"Looking for you?" His brow lofted slightly as he cast a glance at the darker stallion. "... What makes you think that I was looking for you? I..." He paused realizing he was about to catch himself in a lie and lying was never Good.
"Actually, if you must know, I was. It's been... Far too long since we last crossed paths and I..." He lowered his head for a moment, clearing his throat while trying not to seem too flustered. "... Missed your company." There. He'd said it.

"See now? That wasn't so hard was it?" He laughed slightly as his white friend lowered his head. It was never easy to get the other stallion to admit that he'd missed his company. Even if he said it first it was hard to get out of him.
"I did miss you too. It's just not as fun if you aren't there correcting everything i say."

"I don't..." Then he cut himself off, realizing he was just about to do what he was going to say he didn't. Instead he huffed, nostrils flaring as he pawed lightly at the ground, shifting from hoof to hoof.
"I am more than certain that you have a good bit of fun when I'm not around. Afterall, being corrected constantly doesn't always enable you to... Be yourself, as it is." There would never be any changing of Crowley. It just wasn't something that happened... Or, rather, it wasn't something that had happened in ages. He was rather well set in his ways now.
Then again, so was he. They both had their own sides to uphold but, in the process, they still managed to meet on common grounds. "... Have you been well, Crowley?"

"Now see, you forget that while you hate it when i correct you i find it rather amusing when you do so." Mostly because Aziphale's corrections stemmed from his side of things and rarely took into account Crowleys until after the fact. It never ceased to amuse him.
"I've been absolutely wonderful given that i've done absolutely nothing of interest" He hadn't met anyone or anything worth mentioning. "I believe i've started to give into one of those wonderful little things you always complain about. Loafing about and all since the heat is unbearable."
He grinned at the other stallion as he spoke. "I trust you haven't had any more mares try to chase you down then?"

He brushed aside the talk of chastisement and corrections for more pleasant conversation. He had always found that, while necissary, things like that really weren't all that Good. They couldn't be when they did little more than ruffle metaphorical feathers... And sometimes real ones too.
"Well, it make sense, of course... Sloth is a sin and you aren't exactly opposed to those; part of your nature and all." He shook his head, resisting the urge to tsk as the other stallion until the conversation was shifted once more.
"Chased? No, but I did have the most delightful conversation with one. We chatted between sips of water and it was most enjoyable. She even gave me a new story." He beamed as he looked towards Crowley for a moment before turning somewhat sheepish. "She... Also suggested it might be an idea to... Come speak with you again."

"It's a rather fun sin too. I'd suggest trying it some time but you'd never take the opportunity." It just wouldn't be like the white Stallion to go laying around for hours on end. He'd get bored and start demanding company or some such thing.
"Did she now? Smart girl then." He had been able to tell that Azriphale was ignoring him but it wasn't as if he hadn't been ignored before. Things like that came and went and eventually they got over them.

"Oh, no..." He shook his head, golden curls bouncing against his neck as he did so. "Beyond it being a sin, I simply couldn't. Not when there are so many things that need doing... And so many stories I have yet to hear."
He pawed lightly at the ground with one of his forehooves, glancing down at the grass beneath him. "Yes, she did. I have been a dreadfully horrid friend, haven't I? We... Are friends, aren't we?" His brows lofted slightly as he peered up at the darker stallion.

"You could always lay around until someone came along with a story you know." He shook his head and turned to n** at an itch on his shoulder. Not that his friend would but he could.
"I would say we are. Perhaps not the most wonderful example of such but still friends none the less." After dealing with the itch he leaned over and nudged Azriphale's shoulder. "Horrid, no. I wouldn't say you deserve the friend of the year award but then again neither do i"

He closed his eyes after a moment, turning his head to brush his cheek against Crowley's. "We do well for who we are... And for what sides we stand on. It wouldn't be right if everything were so easy afterall, for two on opposing sides to be friends, would it?" Of course not. It... Would be terribly lonely without you, Crowley. It's good knowing that some things never change no matter how much the wind whispers that everything else is."
