The night was young, the veil of night was slowly drifting down upon the land as the glory of the sun set behind the mountains. Virgo watched as twilight graced the land and bathed the valley in the pale purples of dusk. His silver tail flicked softly, catching the hues of the sky and slowly fell back to earth where it pooled as liquid on the ground amid the grass and dew.
His hooves slowly pawed at the ground. The starlight stallion was waiting, ever so patiently. Waiting with breath caught in his lungs for lady night to take her thrown and for his star to appear.

As the canvas surrounded her with a thousand twinkling lights, Andromeda soared through the sky as if a comet had started a long journey. As if a musical chorus were playing just for her, the fanfare of the stars was the ever diligent audience. Shifting her stride she flexed her long graceful wings letting each one sift and glide along the wind that guided her. Kicking out strong legs of muscle and elegance she dipped downward towards the awaiting ground beneath her as if a star had fallen from the sky. A silver streak, glistening and brilliant as hooves gently touched upon the ground with a soft musical sound. Looking around her she searched for someone, another that flickered with a glimmer as she.
How long it had been since the snow had come and gone she pondered swaying her long elegant neck this way and that. Then with a flicker of her heart, a subtle beat she spotted him waiting as if a lone night that waited his lady fair. She shined even in darkness as her hooves advanced toward him with softness yet urgency. Though her dreams and memories were scattered, her senses were wide open with a tingling sensation, glowing a happiness only she could. He had remembered she be descending on this very night

He had known and he had counted the days since the night she had left him. The snow had parted from the land and the grass was now full green and thick. Yet the chill of autum was on the air again. His eyes glimmered in the light of the moon as he saw her slowly drifting from the heavens. His star had returned to him.
As her dainty hooves touched down on the ground her rushed to her side. Silver hair streaming out behind him like liquid moonlight as he approched. "M'lady. You have returned."

Something drifted in her mind, a thought that needed to be addressed to the one that stood nearest to her. But a matter of that importance wasn't something you bring up so lightly, more like working into it smoothly and uninterrupted. The way she'd know was to to judge his reactions, response and feelings.
"Yes I have my starry knight," she breathed with a soft wisp of chill that escaped her nostrils. She watched him intently wondering what he was pondering as his own distinct orbs that carried a way to his soul gazed upon her. "A star always, when it falls, has a reason, a purpose for being" she mused letting her tail slowly swish back and forth. As the coming autumn moon shimmered above them, her coat radiated like a star sitting high in the black canvased sky. Even her own pendent necklace from a dream complimented in silver, helped her shine.
"Even though two seasons of passed I've not forgotten you assisted me in my search. T'was a trying time indeed, but you were there with me when the snows gently fell upon this land. I thank thee for that". She leaned in closer to him smiling, though the secret that the star protected was much more than he could have realized.

Virgo smiled as he watched her, grace, a dream... etherial and wonderful. A smile slowly pulled at his lips as he watched her. Her warmth flooded him, and as always surprised him as he had always thought stars to be as cool as the nights touch. No this mare, this star of the heavens in mortal flesh was as warm as summers day as she leaned against his side.
"And I, maiden, have counted the days through the seasons for your return. Marked this night upon my heart and waited for your grace to fall from the heavens once more. As breath taking as the night I first saw you land. Pray tell me, Lady. What does a Star need upon the mortal plains once more, so long ago the snows of left the land. Perhaps my Lady of light still needs help in her Journey?"

The sky glittering high above was her courage as her breath silently crept to mingle with the air around her. Soft translucent clouds willowy and light escaping from her lungs in the autumn evening.
"My journey is never ending Sir Virgo. For memories cheat and elude like tattered cloths upon a snow white Princess, "she frowned softly yet smiled, "But, my vigil will never deter from my goal of finding my guardian"
She stood with a swish of her tail, standing quite still as the moon reflected it's own beauty upon both equines. Such an array of starry overture that breathed true life, exhaling harmoniously in the light of one another.
But things were unsettled, needed sorted and primed in the mare's mind. There were secrets left untold of that snowy encounter. Memories were sown and cultivated into three tiny miracles in the care of childish familiar and the grace of an icy elder mare.
She leaned inward to his mane still catching the breaths her lungs so needlessly desired... afraid he'd scorn her for news of the awaiting three. But it had to be taken care of, nurtured, for in their union on that starry night she'd found something more than what she sought.
"Virgo. I have a query of you that must ease my mind from that long and perilous flight I took upon myself many moons ago," her head pulling upward to look serenely into his own, "What do you remember of that fateful night when the snow was falling and the darkness was thickening?'
She simply had to know what he himself remembered within that cave, for her memories were jumbled and full of uncertainty. But she knew without a doubt the foals couldn't belong to anyone other than him and herself as they gallantly shined so bright and fair.

Virgo looked over at her as she leaned against him, he was a little confused about why that night would really matter now, but it was night that had been on his mind since she had left.
"I rememer seeing a star fall from the sky and tell me of her quest, the snow started to come down thickly and so I helped you to a cave my Lady, where we spent a most wonderful evening." he said with a small smile.
Did she not remember? If she didnt then why did she return this night and why did she remember him?

His words settled in her mind like that falling snow light and numerous of that memory many moons ago. So he did remember that night as vividly as she, a setting most announced with her wondering how the three newborns were easing into the world.
"That is quite well that you'd remember a night of glistening ice patterned as a blanket of white lying about the land. Snow will be returning in full circle as when my hooves first touched upon this very dream." Her words were like a lyrical melody, soft with harmony upon each spoken phrase.
She nuzzled in closer to him feeling slightly at a loss of how to speak of their waiting family.
"There is something of importance that I must breathe to you," she murmured searching for the right words, "Upon our parting I searched many days for a sign, a glimpse of one from my dreams.. but only found something more precious than I could ever imagine..." She paused turning to look deeply into his deep set eyes and smiled, "How deeply did you wish upon that single fallen star that you would travel with and keep safe? I must lead you to my single breath that melt into three awaiting my return. Tell me will you follow me back dearest Virgo?".
It was a simple request yet she was dead set on her words in truth to him. Better to see with thine own eyes than picture a phrase or memory etched in.

Virgo listened to her worlds and nuzzled in against her, inhailing her scent and the soft whisps of her hair caressing against his velvet coat. Her words floated through the air like dancing wind, a fairy melody caught between space and time. He closed his eyes lightly as he listened to her, only to open them again at her question.
He moved away from her then, but only to look deep within those eyes, those eyes that knew only innocents. "Oh my lady Star. I would follow you into the heavens themselves if I could." he looked at her and smiled, his heart leaping into his words. "On that fated night you first fell from the heavens I made a vow to help you in evey way I possably could, I stand true to that now. You have captured my heart M'lady and no other would tear me from your grace. I would follow you through time itself."

As the silvery light flecked upon her starry coat in brilliance she smiled warmly at his decision. Stretching her wings she immediately set off for flight, then remembered he was not as blessed as she. Flicking them as if to stretch, she lied her feathery appendages upon her back, resting them softly in place.
Well this won't do. She had to think of another way to stretch time in favor of reaching the foals. Heaven knows what that familiar was teaching them these days. Such a childish creature Kalico was, the mind of a fragile child bursting with energy. Oh the possibilities to make a mother wonder with worry.
Pondering her options she looked to the direction she had come. "Are you well enough for a decent gallop Virgo?," she asked with her soft breath upon his neck where her head rested. She hated asking such an obvious thing, yet he had to see and know what awaited him far off in the distance.
"We must start soon before the sun rises to its full intensity." The sooner she reached her children with Virgo the better.

Virgo watched her, fully expecting her to take flight as she streched her wings to the sky. Instead she smoothed her feathers out and laid them softly across her back, draping as if a cloak along her slender form.
She seemed to worry, and in a hurry to get to a destination. Perhaps she had found what she had been looking for all this time and wanted to share her excitment with him.
The Starlit stallion smiled and dipped his head to bow to her, silver locks flowing like water over his shoulders and spilling onto the ground. "Yes M'lady. As ready As I can ever be. I'll Follow your lead to the ends of the earth itself." he said looking up at her.

Without even contemplating it, Andromeda nuzzled him one last time breathing the words "thank you", then bolted into a long stride gallop looking behind her every so often to make sure he was keeping distance with her. She royally hated the fact that they had to hurry, but the thought of babies left in the care of a lion familiar was way too much for a sparkling celestial mare now running at a full gallop.
They'd make time for sure if the pace was kept, just had to reach the sanctuary the babies and Kalico were left in for safety. Heaven knows she herself couldn't raise three that were rapidly growing as the moons hung high within the blackened canvas sprinkled with a thousand stars.
Turning one last time she sought a gaze of his own glistening form then turned and kept her pace. If they both ran strong, it would be a matter of hours till they arrived.

Virgo blinked a little bit as she suddenly broke off from him, her warmth gone from his side. It took him but a moment before he too was running at a fast speed behind her, watching as her pale tail streamed behind her like the tail to a comet.
Just what was so important? At this point he couldnt understand, she was in a hurry to get somewhere and show him, something. With her pace and the worry that had crept up into his beautiful face it must be something very dear to her heart. His mind raced with questions as his hooves thundered over the grasslands, behind her sparkling shimmering form. Following the fallen star whom had captured his heart.

Her heart headed her onward for what seemed an Eternity, never ceasing to loose the sound of his hoofbeats keeping time with hers. As the trees brushed by her flanks her legs never stopped in their stride. A glistening beauty fighting time to return to something most precious and pure. Each footfall, a breath that seeped outward of a chilly appearance, combined all with her deep breathing and bobbing head in her stride.
The familiar smell of the cooking pot, usually found by the long haired maiden caught her attention as her feet sped up even more, pounding at the ground.
As she finally reached the outskirts of the clearing she stopped short, her legs quivering. Leaning her head back a bit she called out in her loudest voice, " I'm back everyone. Lyra, Gemini, Cassiopeia... please come out to me."
Perking her ears a young Lion familiar was the first to catch wind that her caretaker had now arrived. Even she herself couldn't remember the one Andromeda sought, but she knew in her heart the name was just a whisper away. For now it was a joyous occasion for Andromeda had returned! Stretching she hoped up upon the young sleeping unicorn's back, "Wake up Cassi... Wake up. Momma has returned."
Cassi blinked with a yawn turning her head to peer sleepily back at Kalico. "Mommy?" It was almost a sleepy type of reply as she fluttered her eyes open. "Mommy is back, was it for real this time she wondered. How long had she been gone now? Yawning again she stretched and stood, while Kalico still hung over her back. "Better tell the boys don't you think?"
With a smile she began to giggle before trotting out to find them. "Lyra! Gemini! Mom's back"!

Lyra wasn't too far off curled up in the thick high grasses of a deep emerald clor. His sisters shouts, as well as mothers, were what woke the small foal, who had neither a horn nor wings.
Lifting his head slowly he lazily looked about, his head almost seeming to heavy for him. "Mmm...Mum's back..." He said yawning once as he spoke to himself. Standing slowly on slightly wobbly legs he called out for his brother. "Gemini!"
Then he called to his sister to find her, needed to find her also and join her. "Cassiopeia!" Wouldn't this be a very nice surprise for three children to meet their fahter and for a father to meet their three children.
