User ImageHe'd had enough, dammit! He'd been searching for ages it seemed. He would never find his sister, never! His memories of her would fade, and along with it would go his sanity. He'd be alone in this world, without his family, without his life, without a thing.

Arsenic was finally breaking. His optimism could only last for so long. He crashed to his knees, bressing his forhead against the hard ground. A soft sob shook his whole body as he finally cried. He hadn't cried since they day she first diappeared... He'd been so certain he would find his sister. Every inch of his being told him she would be here, but this land was just too big, and now he was here with no way to get back to his parents and other siblings.

Another sob cracked through the air, louder than his normal voice. What kind of hell had he gotten himself into? He was such a cretin for even thinking he would find her. Fool. Moron. Mentaly incompetant. ******** IDIOT.

User ImageDaveigh stood at the edge of a meadow just barely hidden in the brush. She and Yukio had been here so long now that they were just sure everyone had given up on finding them. Even she was giving up on the possibility that their family had been sent here with them. She felt so alone. Sure she had Yukio but she missed her mother and her siblings. They had been her life and now without them she was like an empty shell with no reason to get up in the morning.

Her heart broke every morning she woke up without them and tears fell every night that she went to sleep with only one beside her when there used to be many. At times she remembered being slept on by her younger siblings. She felt so stingy for wanting them all back but she missed them so much. Her family was so big and there were so many different faces she could talk to and now she only had one. Oh she loved Yukio with all her heart but her heart still felt empty without the rest of them.

Her hope was pretty much gone now. She was left only to try and smile for Yukio so to not worry him too much. There was no reason to worry him if there was nothing that could be done after all.

Arsenic's icey blue eyes, now almost white with sorrow, were screwed shut so tightly that he could hardly believe he'd have the strength to open them. Tears stained his crimson coat, trailing down the heart over his eye and breaking it in two. None of this was fair. Who were these damned gods who found it so amusing to split him from his sister? Who were they to try and sever a bond like that? It wasn't fair!He felt like such a child for thinking it but it just was not fair!

His sorrowed whiny filled the air for a long moment, broken and defeated. His ears were pressed back against his head and he just layed his head on the ground, crying, in the middle of a god forsaken meadow, visable to any predator on the prowl, with no family, no friends, and no will left. He let out another sound, this one less horse-like.. less like anything but a dying soul.

Daveigh was brought from her thoughts by the sounds of sorrow and certainly the voice was deep enough to be a stallion. Curiousity got the best of her and her heart felt for the stallion as well since she was feeling the same sorrow. Slowly she started forward into the meadow.

Since she had came here she had learned to be more cautious and always watch for predators that would think she was an easy lunch, oh were they always wrong. There wasn't a predator out there that could out smart her but she was still cautious and trying to avoid if she could.

She moved until she could see the stallion in the grass before she stopped. She made sure there was no others about before she put her attention completely on the stallion. Looking at his back Daveigh was surprised how close the markings were to her brothers but with her hope so low she thought little about it. "What are you crying for?"

Arsenic rolled his head slightly in the soft dirt, uncaring of the tiny grains of sand sticking to his cheeks and not really noticing the sound of hooves approaching, when normally he would catch it from a mile away. He just wasn't himself right now...

The voice he did notice though, registering it as female, but no going as far as to recognize why it sounded so familiar. Without lifting his head he mumbled softly, "I'm fine, Miss, you can go on with your business if you'd like." It was hardly audible to anyone but those who had grown up with someone who spoke so softly.

Daveigh was just so confused now. This stallion was deep down in the dumps. Even deeper than she was and that was pretty deep. His voice was so soft yet she still heard it plain as day. After having listened to her brothers soft voice all her life she was good at picking up on those soft tones.

"But I'd like to know what has you so down that you're face down in the dirt." She said being genuinely concerned about the stallion even though she knew nothing of him and didn't even know who he was.

Arsenic stopped moving his head, sighing. Should he tell this mare what she needs to know, just so she'd go on with her life? It seemed like the only way at the moment... and he was to polite to deny a lady of what she wants.

Slowly he raised his head, shaking it slightly so the majority of the dirt fell. Carefully he opened his eyes so the painful light would not burn them out of his sockets and he turned hishead to look at her. His eyes went from the sorrowed white back to their ice blue so quick no one would understand what just happened, even if it were explained to them. This mare... her white coat... her black spots... that crimson mane.... but most of all those purple eyes... could this be...? "Miss... m-may I a-ask your n-name?" His voice shook from the hope that rattled through his bones.

Daveigh needed only to glance to the rose on the stallions shoulder and see his face to know who she was looking at. A smile slowly spread on her lips and her ears flicked slightly at the quiver in the stallions voice. "Where you been Arsenic?" She asked her eyes alight with knowing. It was hard not to know this was her brother. The brother she'd been searching for for so long.

Arsenic was too his hooves in moments, tears streaming down his cheeks again. "Daveigh!" He quickly closed the gap between them and rubbed his neck against hers lovingly. "You disappeared, and I went looking for you, but I got lost and ended up here! But you're here! And everything can be okay!" The words came out faster than he had ever spoken before. He may have been older, but when it came to his family he could be such a baby.

Daveigh couldn't help but giggle at her brother's excitement. She'd missed him so much and finally seeing him again brought tears to her own eyes. She returned his nuzzles loving and lightly nipped at the braids in his mane. "I missed you so much! It seems like it's been forever since I've seen you." Daveigh said with small tears falling silently down her cheeks.

Arsenic was practicly sobbing in his happiness. "I've missed you too." It was a soft slow whisper. He couldn't believe it. This was all a dream. Just like that nightmare. Oh he hoped she wouldn't turn into that horrible iron-clawed monster... oh he hoped not...

Pulling away so he could look at her he smiled. "What have you been up to, Dav?" He could see the slight bulge of her abdomen, but he wanted to believe she was just eatting well. If some p***k had hurt her, oh there'd be hell to pay.

Finally one of her family members were with her. Her brother, the stallion she was born with, was finally with her. She never thought she would ever see this day.

Daveigh was not blind to Arsenic's glances to her belly. Well she was of course just beginning to show so it didn't really look like too much more than good eating but she knew otherwise and he needed to know. They were going to be his future nieces and/or nephews. "Well when I got lost I didn't get lost alone. Yukio's here with me and we've been well keeping to ourselves." She said sort of hinting to something bigger than just alone time. She didn't want to be straight forward just yet as she wanted to see if Arsenic could take it from there. He was pretty quick witted so she was sure he could.

Arsenic's face lit up at the mention of Yukio. "He's here too? That's great!" It took him a moment to register that there was more meaning behind those words, and another for him to figure out what that meaning was. His face turned to confusion for a slight second before he finally understood. "Daveigh! You didn't...Did you?" He didn't look angry, just more amused than anything, really.

Daveigh nodded at Arsenic's first question. "Yeah. He came with me when I left and we've been staying under the protection of a willow tree." She replied. As everything slowly dawned on Arsenic a smile slowly spread across her face. She nodded vigoriously as he spoke. She almost looked like a little filly the way she was smiling and nodding. "I did! Well we did. It's so exciting Arsenic! I'm going to be a momma." Daveigh practically beamed with the joy she could not contain.
