It had been days now.. since he had last spoken to anyone. He had had a very good conversation with a sad little mare only days before, but he was already missing having her to talk to. She had been kind, but her heart was plagued with guilt, and he wished he could have removed it. Frankly, he hated seeing mares upset.
His walked on, finally leaving the grove of which he had been resting, and moving into the forest as not to be out in the open anymore. The forest was cool and shady, and looked vaguely like the place Naina had taken residence.
He looked around, sapphire orbs scanning the darkness.
He saw nothing. Heard nothing. But felt something.

Since the talk with Jean-Claude, Shaitani had found a little relief in the torture that her mind provided her with every day. Her conscience seemed vaguely relaxed, more at peace with the decision she had made. Of course, she still worried, and she would always worry, but to have someone tell her that it wasn't the end of the world seemed to help. She didn't know she had actually need someone to tell her that - she had never needed anyone's help with anything. Regardless, it had helped, and she supposed that was all that mattered.
Today, she was settled comfortably at the edge of the clearing that she had claimed as the home for her and her sons in the heart of the forest. As she was thinking over the conversation, she began to pick up the scent of the male himself. At first, she thought she was just hallucinating, but then she realized that the scent was just far too strong. Pushing herself back up to her hooves, she glanced in the direction that she thought the scent originated. Glimpsing a bit of tan through the trees, she quirked a brow.
"Jean-Claude?" she called out, taking a few steps towards him.

Jean whipped his head around, keeping his sapphire gaze straight forward.
"Shaitani!" He said, coming closer to her and smiling.
"My friend, how are you doing lately?" He asked, shaking his curly black tail, and glancing about where they were standing. He could only assume this was her home. It was pretty.
He loved the fact that he had run into her again. He had like talking to the mare and saw her as a very good friend, even though thier encounter had lasted only minutes.

She smiled as he came closer, though thoroughly surprised at his appearance. "Jean-Claude," came her eloquent reply, offering him a slight nod of her head as her customary greeting (though it was infinitely less formal than the last time). "I'm doing perfectly fine," she said with a little smile, her tail flickering behind her as she tilted her head at him slightly, "though I'm a little surprised to find you here. I'm not used to Soquili coming this far into the forest, let alone directly into my home." She laughed softly, walking further into the little clearing.
As she saw him glance around, she followed his eyes with a small. The little clearing was a quaint one. A small pool of water had formed near the center, fed by a tiny spring from beneath the ground. Around it had grown thick vegetation, covering most of the floor with clovers and a few more colorful things here and there. Around them were the most ancient of trees, all sporting coils of creeps around their trunks. She liked it here - it was very pretty.

Jean Claude gave another glance towards the scenery, and smiled, breathing in the deep aroma that was all the forest, nothing more. There were no humans here.. Their were no.. others here. It was he, and Shaitani, and he liked that. He hated the thought of living among two leggers.. But the honest opinion of Shai, had been that she would never live with the beasts. He had assumed that when he had met her. She seemed the independent type.
"Oh yes! Do forgive me for walking right into your sanctuary."
He said, looking at his feet, and lifint them a bit, as to not crush another peice of grass. Oh how rude of a brute he was.
"But you have a lovely abode."
He loved the darkness of it.

She smiled amusedly at his apology, shrugging her shoulders in a careless fashion. "I suppose it's really not entirely mine. After all, who can own nature?" She shook her head with a little smirk, glancing towards the small pool. "I do not mind though, it's not an intrusion. With the boys gone, I'm a little lonely."
"Thank you," she said with a little smirk, glancing around at the sheltered, shaded area. "I wouldn't trade it for the world. Just the place for someone who wants to get away from the world and live in peace," she said with a little laugh, "which seems to be just what I was always looking for."
With a little nod, she glanced back to him, her head tilted slightly and sending her choppy mane across her face somewhat.

"I wouldnt mind being your company my friend."
He said, smiling, and keeping an eye out around him. He'd never been this deep in any wooded area, and it kept him on guard. Specially since he felt he would do anything to protect such a mare such as Shai.
"Well, I am indeed happy to hear you are doing well.. But being lonely well that is its own cross to bear, ma chardonnet."
He said, calling her his little canary. Sure, giving it as a translated form would seem odd, so he had enlightened it a bit, to make it seem more of a loving title.
He lowered his body underneath the shade of a nice tree that he had been fond of from arrival.
Glancing back up, he looked at Shai with sapphire eyes.
"What have you been up to?"

Having lived in the little area since she had begun raising the boys, Shaitani found no need to stay on guard. The forest had become her home, and she often found that she felt safer in its dark seclusion than she did out in the bright, open spaces of the fields surrounding it. Still, she knew a few Soquili that seemed to be in a certain state of unease when presented with the unfamiliar area, and she found no need to comment on it. They typically became more relaxed with it over time.
“Well, you’re the best sort of company there is, Jean-Claude,” she said with a soft laugh, eyes glittering in what little light wafted down through the branches of the forest canopy. The pet name he used, however, made a soft smirk spread across her pretty maw. She was unused to such compliments, but then, her attitude often made her undeserving of him. He was a sweet talker, she would give him that, but she did find comfort in his company.
As he relaxed and lowered his form beneath the spread-out boughs of one of the older trees, she joined him. Tucking her legs neatly beneath her lithe frame, she glanced around at the home she had claimed, idly flickering the braided azure-toned tail behind her. “What have I been up to?” she asked, turning her attention back to the attractive stallion near her, “nothing much since last we met. I’ve seen Khilan, but Cerek is still out womanizing who knows how many mares. I’ve just been relishing in the silence I get when he’s off on those escapades.” She laughed, shaking her head as she realized how bad that sounded – but it was the truth. “I expect that he’ll bring me home a troop of grandchildren any day now.”
She smiled, glancing away, remembering who knows what from the time her sons were mere foals. She pushed the memories away and gave him her attention once more, “what about you, monsieur? What have you been up to since we parted ways?”

Jean Claude smiled, giving a gleam of happiness in his eyes. The little attractive mare was definately someone he loved to be aorund as well. He was happy being around the same very mare who had given him some relief of his heartache about his past children.
"Well, darling," he said smiling, adorning her with the pet name he tended to like.
"I have been doing absolutely nothing but being absolutely alone. I tried to navigate my way around here, as to lay eyes on Naina, but ive found im getting to old for such travels. I cant find my way around at all."
His eyes gleamed and he gave a wry smile.
"Im not used to such issues."
His tail flicked, and his curly ebony mane stuck to his neck as he sat and watched the mare.
"I like it here."
He said looking around again. Observing the lovely little secluded area. It was as secluded as possible, and he liked the alone-ness of it.
"I like how different it is."

Shaitani smiled weakly as he mentioned navigating his way through the forest, simply shaking her head and glancing away into the depths of wood. “Getting around in here takes some practice. You have to have a good memory and know the difference between the trees and the plants, otherwise you’ll just end up walking yourself in circles.” She flicked her tail, hearing the soft crinkle as she brushes the azure locks across some of the smaller foliage spurting up around her form.
After thinking to herself for a moment, she tilted her head at him slightly. “It’s horrible, really, that such a fine gentleman should have to wander around without out a home, all by his lonesome,” she said, her voice measured and calm. “It really wouldn’t be a problem if you wanted to stay here for a while, you know. After all, there’s plenty of room, even when the boys are home”

He assumed it would take time to learn the woods. He knew he could do it eventually, but wandering off by himself was not helping him learn any faster.
He had indeed just been walking in circles when he had landed upon the fine mare he was now in company with. He, in all aspects, rather adored this mare. Be it, a kind of attraction, or just her simple ways. He rather enjoyed talking to her, and he wasnt a stallion who talked much when not provoked.
"My dear, I assure you you dont want an old fool like me living in your sanctuary." He mused, smiling at her offer. What a generous kind thing to say, but he was sure she didnt want him truly living there. After all, what would her boys think of him living there with his mother? Surely they'd assume the worst.
"I have a feeling your boys might not like that as much as I do."
His ebony curled tail hit his side happily, as it flicked back and forth to escape the biting flies. His creme colored pelt was so very light, and you could see every bug that ever tried to land. And he hated that, so he tried his damndest to keep them off. Sapphire eyes looked back at the mare, and he smiled widely, exposing his fangs.

It wasn’t often that Shaitani came across a male that she didn’t mind spending time with. In fact, it wasn’t very often that she came across any Soquili that she didn’t mind spending time with. For the most part, she found them all annoying. They either had too much energy, not enough intelligence, or were generally just fools. It had been Eloran’s intelligence that appealed to her, a trait that he had passed on to at least one of their children. Now she found this same sort of intelligence in Jean-Claude, though he was flirty where Eloran was more reserved. Still, she assumed that they were both one in a million. She counted herself lucky to have known either of them, but she had already lost contact with the first. What good was a friend when you could never find him?
“Nonsense,” she said calmly, flicking her tail behind her as she let her shoulders rise and fall in a small shrug. “Khilan knows my opinion on most Soquili around here, and he would want me to find someone I could talk to. After all, he’s always complaining that I need a companion or a friend of some sort, mostly because he hates to leave me alone and it means he can never go out for long,” she shook her head, glancing away in the direction that Khilan had last disappeared. She did hate putting herself off on him sometimes. “And Cerek is hardly a problem. He’s hardly ever home, and when he is, he hardly notices anything at all. Not the brightest child, Cerek.” She did have a smile on her face when she said it, however. She was blunt, but she did love the boy.
Shaitani glanced in his direction, just in time to encounter the smile on his mug. A brow quirked as she noticed the fangs for a second time, but she didn’t seem to be outwardly afraid of them at all. “You don’t use those, do you Jean-Claude?” it wasn’t a mean statement, just an idle wondering thought.

Jean smiled again, shaking his head and giving a wink. "Only in my past, and when the need arises."
He said, grinning and looking at the mare.
He was beginning to feel the pang of what he had felt with Nostalgia. The beginnings of a feeling.. but he wasnt going to do anything this time. He had lost a good friend due to him being who he was, because he had bedded her, and produced foals not long after. They had rushed so fast, and that was the mistake he bore.
He wouldnt hurt this mare. He felt.. love with this mare.
But surely, the way she spoke of others, she had no interest in him, but the happy though of staying with her made him happy.

Shaitani laughed softly at his response, turning her head away. They didn’t particularly bother her, for she did not see him as a threat in any manner. In her opinion, he was very gentle, and until he gave her a reason to fear him, she would not. “I don’t believe that you’ll find any reason to use them here,” she said with a soft smile lingering on her mug, “so I don’t think you’ll need to worry about it.”
She smirked as she slowly pushed herself up to her hooves, stalking slowly across the clearing to the small watering hole and drank deeply of the water. It felt good to have a companion that wasn’t one of her sons, and she hadn’t realized how badly she had missed it sense she left Eloran behind. This was certainly a change for her, and for the first time since Eloran himself, she was beginning to grow close and feel something for someone. She hoped, for her sake, that this wouldn’t turn out the same way.

Sneaking as much as a very heavy stallion could, he too pushed himself off his belly with his heavy brown hooves. His ebony curls of his tail brushed his leg, as he finally got to her flank, where he nipped her gently, enough to scare her, and nudged her into the water.
He didnt push her hard enough to make her fall, moreso, just enough to make her get her feet into the water. He smiled.
"Whoops.. Excuse me my dear, I hope that didnt offend."
He clicked his teeth, and raised his head, looking prideful and charming.
"I am such a bully."
