Things were definitely different. Duranjaya had, for a long time, seemed to disappear off the face of the Earth. Of course, he'd only been off on his own, on a journey of sorts. Now he was back, home again, and it felt... definitely different.
Hoofs carefully treaded towards a small stream, Duran fully intent on getting a drink. He stopped at the bank of the stream, and swivelled his head to the side twice, looking for any other Soquili. Seeing none, he lowered his head and started to drink.
His back leg twitched, and from any other angle, it looked like Duran was tapping his hoof in place. And, he was. Duranjaya was partially 'dancing' as he drank, happy to be home.

Taking off in full trottle Arome was racing herself down the hill. Into the trees her long mane left a stream of brown and orange as her tail curled and wiped behind her. Ducking, dodging, jumping and loping, she gracefully, not once tripping in her path. Her black legs went into a gallop as soon as she left the trees.
Not paying attention she wisked by the brown stallion, splashing water every where, and it tok all but a few moments to realize that she had just passed by some one. At first she thought he was a tree or a bush but she came to a skidding stop and looked back to see that, it was another soquili.
" Ohh hello... " smiling nervously she turned to face this stallion, even if she was 10 feet away from him

Duran hadn't seen much except a blur streak past him, because of the water splashing up into his face. He jumped back quickly, shaking his head to get rid of the water, and frowned, shaking his head one last time and then looking around.
He blinked when he saw an oddly colored Soquili, in that she had a palette of natural colors, nothing like the Soquili he'd seen before. Duran tilted his head, and smiled wide when she addressed him. "Hello." He greeted, grinning at her. "I'm Duranjaya."

She trotted back and pranced around him, looking him over carefully. Smiling she looked into his yellow eyes. He certainly was interesting looking. Naturally colored but not too plane at all.
" Hello Duranjaya, I'm known as Arome, the name given to me by my mother and father.... I havent seen you around her before.. you smell a little off, are you new?"
Arome could smell the strange aroma of a distant area on his pelt, and forgetting all her mannors she just bluntly came out and asked. She pawed the earth as she waited for him to respond, flicking her tail about as the few flies that where still out in this season landed and then fleed from her body and rump. Every so often her pelt would flicker as a fly aggitated itself ontop of her fur. It wasnt that she minded or that it hurt, it was jsut a natural reflex of her body.

Duranjaya smiled a little when the mare had introduced herself, and inclined his head to her respectfully. He grinned, a childish grin, and then shook his head, curly mane flying to and fro. "I'm not... new, no." He answered, smiling at her. "Though I have travelled a great distance."
And oh, wasn't it exhausting.
"Arome is a pretty name." He grinned, tilting his head curiously. "Who are your mother and father?" Duranjaya didn't bank on knowing them, he knew few Soquilis, but it was a nice enough question to ask. ... He thought... Anyway.

She nooded and paced herself, letting her brown chocolate eyes hover under her black eye lids, blinking curiously at him.
" i've been here longer and i probably know less than you"
Chuckling she tossed her long flowing mane from out of her rose hite face and continued,
" My dam is the mare Tetyawna, and sire is the Elder King, and i would ask yourse but i havent met many others... only my siblings, family, and another stallion other then yourself"
Smiling Arome danced around him energetically again, gracefully trotting in her own manner, stopping again in front of him, watching the stallion curiously.
" Does yu name have a shortened version, i dont want to accidentally mis pronounce after all, my father taught me good manners."

Duran smiled a little, watching the mare dance around him, and grinned. "You can call me Duran." He said, nodding to her and then tossing his mane back when it fell into his face. "I don't know your parents, though that's not surprising." He snorted.
"It's been so long, I barely know the grass under my feet, let alone other Soquilis." He admitted, shrugging at her and then grinning. "Wanna go walking with me?" He asked, bouncing from hoof to hoof anxiously.
Standing in one place for too long left him feeling antsy, and he'd already gotten his drink before he'd been splashed by the running Arome.

" God yes!'
she exclaimed as she went ahead of him a little. She knew these parts not bu she also knew finding her way around wasnt hard, she was still near her fathers territory, the scent was every where and as long as she could still smell it she wouldnt get lost.
" Its pretty bad if you dont know the grass under your feet... after all what if it tricks you and you fall"
Smiling as she loved to use metaphors because it made everythign else mroe interesting, she slowed down so he could catch up to her.

Well actually... Duran had fallen quite a number of times, the poor thing. But it wasn't the grass's fault, mostly his own inability to pay attention to what he was doing for any given amount of time.
Duran's face split into a grin, and he nodded, walking to catch up to her. "It wouldn't be the first time." He admitted, snorting sheepishly. "But that's... more involved around me not looking where I'm walking, and not the grass trying to trick me." Duran's ear twitched in a sheepish gesture, ducking down towards his mane, and then were straight up again.
