Ladius lay on a large rock overlooking the woodland clearing, at first glance in complete repose. At the second glance, however, one might notice the underlying tension in her leg muscles, see the keen glint in her eye, and realize that just because she was reclining didn't mean that she was relaxing. That was standard for Ladius, however; she rarely ever allowed herself to TRULY 'relax'.
And that was even more the case these days. From her rocky vantage point, Ladius was watching the childish antics of two small foals. One, dark like herself, bore a small horn on the middle of her forhead. The other, pale of body, had red-tipped wings that tended to flutter rather aimlessly from time to time. Two small girls...perfect.

Entreri had decided it was about time yet again to meet up with ladius to see if the two foals where out and about. oh he was goign to be in for a surpise because little did he know that once he foudn Ladius that he would learn he had two girls and had no boys. keeping his wings tight to his side, as made his way to where he had last saw Ladius, since he figured she would be there. tossing his mane, he finaly reached his desination after the long walk.he raised a brow at the sight before him as he came into veiw. two young fillies seemed to be messing around as Ladius appeared to be relaxing but knowing her it wasnt the case. not even sayign a word, he waited for ladius to speak as he eyed both the fillies.

One ear flick was the only sign Ladius gave that she was aware of Entreri's presence. Otherwise, she stayed as she was, watching the two fillies playing down below. "So, you finally made it back. Well, you haven't missed that much; the girls have been out their baskets since the day before yesterday and are walking and capering about with pretty decent strength. Hardly the most coordinated yet, but that will come with time."

" i figured as much and i highly doubted a foal would be the most coordinated right off from the start." Entreri stretched his wings, staying put where he was. it truely was a disapointment to him that their was not even one son out of the batch, but no matter it just ment these foals had their work cut out to for them. still eyeing the foals, he wondered now if ether would live up to the expectations he had.
the dark uni filly that looked so much like her mother stopped in the fun that she and her sister where having as he noticed her mother was talking to a rather big stranger. wide eyed, she stared at the stranger as she moved over to her mother when he had stretched his wings that where simular to her sisters. " who's that?" was all she pipped in dispite it was clear her mother and the stranger where talking even if the stranger was watching them.

Not that Ladius would have put it past Entreri to NOT know the intricacies of foal developement. It wasn't like he'd had a lot of interaction with foals before, likely not since he'd been one himself. That was how long it had been for her, after all...but some things were just logical. Like, as the case was, for foals to be uncoordinated. But things that obvious didn't need that much by way of discussion, so she simply remained silent. Silent, that is, until her elder daughter piped up, seemingly out of nowhere. Then, she turned and gave Entreri a look, her lip curling slightly in a challenging smile. "Well, Entreri...why don't you identify yourself?"
As her sister had taken off to inquire into the identity of the stranger, the pale filly had remained where she was, glancing warily in the direction of the adults. Unlike Shi, she had no desire to put herself that close to such an intimidating-looking individual; even though her mother had a cold air about HER, the stallion had a presence all his own. A SCARY presence. Like he would charge down and attack any second, just like their mother was always warning them about...

(( @_@ lolz when typing this up it reminded me of starwars " luuuuuuke i am your father!" XD;; ))
Entreri raised a brow at his daughter who decided to ask a question. and when ladius deicded to have him identify himself, dispite having already givin his name. seemed he would have to say he was their father, and after a soft snort, he spoke. " if i must." glancing from one filly to the other, he contiuned. "i am Artemis Entreri, you father."looking over at Ladius he had to ask just one quetion. " im sure you named these two already, so what are their names?
she stayed closer to her mother then near the dark stranger. her eyes again went wide as the stranger had said he was their father. looking over at her sister, she saw she had never followed when she had been so bold as to come over and ask who the dark stallion was. now wondering if she been too bold, she looked over to her mother when Entreri had asked about her name and sisters.

"What, so you didn't think I'd be calling them 'Child One' and 'Child Two for however many days it took you to show up? Clever, Entreri, clever; naturally, I assumed that if you wanted to have a say in the names of your children you would have made an effort to be around for their emergence." Though the words might seem to some as though Ladius were censuring the stallion, as things actually stood the mare was merely stating the facts. She had no delusions about how things stood with she, Entreri, and the children; all of this was for the greater good. The kids were primarily her responsibility, Entreri had merely provided the sperm.
But that didn't mean he couldn't at least be informed about what said sperm had become. "Girls, identify yourselves to your father. He's an important element in your lives, after all."
...Father? So, that meant that the scary stallion was the one who was partly responsible for their very existance (as Ladius had explained to them very early on about the principles of procreation and birth, feeling it an essential bit of knowledge for any Soquili). Ryn supposed she could see the resemblence; Mother had neither wings nor horn, and the stallion...Father...had both. That must be where she and Shi got theirs.
Though that didn't mean she felt any closer to him. He stood so proudly, so aloofly, and he looked at them with eyes of profound coldness. Father or no...he was scary. But so was Mother, when she expected something, so Rynia was relatively quick to murmur, "Rynia" in response to the question. "Ryn."

" exsactly right." oh if he had wanted to play a bigger role he could but that wasnt how he was and was fine with leaving most of the work to Ladius who had been the one to have wanted these foals. as Ladius adressed the two fillys to give their names, he was all ears, courious as to what they where named.
what mother wanted, mother got specialy when it was a direct order and after her sister quickly murmured her name, she spoke hers. " Shiraz." not even giving her nickname of Shi, she wanted to go stand next to her sister but with their fathers eyes feeling as if they where bering down and judging she stayed where she was.

"There you go, Entreri. Any more questions?" Beyond a slight nod of approval, Ladius gave neither daughter any sign that she was even paying attention to their answers. However, with Ladius little needed to be said to get a point across; Entreri knew this, and the girls were learning too.

" theres no more questions needed unless you care to tell me when Rynia will need her training to fly. wouldnt due to not show her how to use the wings she got from me." Entreri then eyed Ryn for a moment because she was the one hanging back while Shiraz had been a bit more bold but backed off a bit. snorting, atlest they both had bits of him in them in looks though only time will tell how their personalities would be since he only just met them.
Shiraz wrinkled her nose as she heard their father talk of teaching her sister to fly. she now wondered if their father would teach her anything like her mother had been teaching them both certain things though no real training had begun. sneaking over to her sister though she figured her parents where watching them both at all times, atlest it felt that way. she wondered what her sister thought of their father, atlest she found him to be someone you never wanted to cross just like their mother.

As Entreri spoke, Ladius flicked her gaze over to Rynie, Entreri's comment reminding her of an important aspect of Rynia's training that she herself (while she hadn't exactly forgetten) was underqualified to expound on. "You'll have to come to that determination yourself, Entreri; having never had wings myself, I'm not familiar with the time it takes for said wings to reach suitable flight strength."
Listening to her mother speak, Rynia felt an even stronger sense of discomfort with the whole situation. Learning to fly with the stra-her father was NOT something she was sure she liked the sound of, him with his cold looks and all. She'd almost prefer to not fly at all!
Not that she'd ever say that, of course...she'd just think it.

Entreri ruffled his while eyeing Rynia and her wings while pondering things over. " i give her a week maybe less to get ajusted to everthing outside the basket before throwing her into training her wings but thats just my thoughts, unless we have any objection." ofcourse even if his daughter had any objection she was going to go through the wing trainign anyways. and he wanted to see if these two would disapoint him in anyway with the high expectations he was going to set.
Shiraz stayed silent next to her sister and their mother and father spoke. the more she watched adn listened the more she wasnt liking the idea of having to be put through training like her sister already was going to it seemed.

"I have no objections; if that is the time it takes for wings to reach their optimum stage of developement, then obviously that's when we'd want to start Ryn on her flight lessons. Besides that, I'm sure that Ryn herself would want to begin such learning such useful skills as soon as possible, right Ryn?"
Right and wrong both. Rynia was feeling more and more intimidated by the whole situation, especially when her father's cold eyes had been analyzing her. It made her feel like a squirrel or rabbit or apple being hunted, as though all that mattered was how strong her wings were. But then, that WAS all that mattered, wasn't it? At least right now.
Still, she wasn't going to argue with her parents, not right now. So she merely nodded at her mother, murmuring an agreement as she glanced at her sister. Lucky Shi, not being the focus of their parents' attention!

"we shall see how her wings look then." now Entreri moved on to eye Shiraz since he was done with Ryn for now though her murming her agreement had made him raise a brow. all Shi had was a horn, there was no special trainign like wing flight that would be needed for her. ah well now there wasnt else much to do or discuss. " i suppose that is all for now til these two are ready to start their real training."
Shiz was more than happy at the moment that all eyes wherent on here with how she saw her father analyzing her sister. glancing at her sister, sh could tell she would rather not have all eyes on her and she couldnt blame her. now no longer glancign at her sister, she almost let out a squeek as her father now was staring at her in the same way he eyed Ryn.
