Hi guys,

I decided to collate Sam & Max news into one thread, cos it's not all DVD-related.

First off, a recap:

Quote:
And...does anyone know about a Sam and Max dvd release coming out? I saw a few banner ads on various sites, but clicking on them just led me to stores that didn't load. They mention "Sam and Max Season 1", but I can't tell if they mean the old cartoon, or if just some online promotion thing. I'll definitely give a "Heck yeah!" if a dvd release is on the way!

There's a post about "season 1" that appears to be talking about a video game. Which is also nice, given that Lucasfilm canned the game just before it was ready to be released... Try here: http://www.telltalegames.com/samandmax

I did pick up Sam & Max Hit the Road on PC from a charity shop. That's a suitably bizarre game icon_smile.gif But I'd still rather see the cartoon series again.

Quote:
I've finally had time to look at the link I posted. Seems season 1 = episodic gaming.

I particularly like the Sam & Max merchandise that's now available though icon_smile.gif I want a DeSoto T-shirt!

Rumour also has it that you'll be able to get the original cartoon series from GameTap. I still want a DVD release!

Quote:
Reviews of the episodic game I read were... critical.

Quote:
A big thanks to the folks at TV Shows On DVD, yet again, for making my day:

Yes, folks, the dog and the rabbity thing are (hopefully!) coming to DVD. Now may be a really good time to bow down before Shout! Factory...

You crack me up, little buddy!

Quote:
The dog and the rabbity-thing have some more news of their upcoming DVD release through Shout Factory. Given the company did a darn good job of SatAM, I have high hopes. Sounds like the producer is a complete fan boy, which really helps icon_biggrin.gif

Again, thanks to TV Shows on DVD for the news:

So, that was your recap, now for the reason for the post.

TVShowsondvd.com have an excerpt of an interview with the guy in charge of the boxset. You can read it here.

Also (and believe me I was dancing), Telltale Games announced on their website that "Sam & Max: Surfin' the Highway" is to be reprinted. This is the trade paperback collection of most Sam & Max goodness that regularly goes for upwards of $60 on eBay at the moment. More information available over at Telltale. I hope they will ship worldwide - I don't want eBay to be my only hope...

The game is available to buy in a complete set in stores, with (I believe) a bonus disc of bloopers. Telltale's Season 2 is due out "Fall 2007", although Telltale refuse to be drawn any further on the exact date.

And that's the round-up. Quite long enough, I'm sure you'll agree!

We have a release date and a release price and a list of extras:

You apparently will get a playable demo of the first episode of Sam & Max season 2, "Ice Station Santa".
