http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXj4i96GTVMListen, in the first eight seconds of this NBC news report, Newsanchor Lisa Kim made a fatal flaw and completely nullified any sort of opinion NBC can broadcast. She says, and I quote, "Critics are calling it the most violent video game ever for children." It's been stated time and time again. This. Is. Not. A. Game. For. Children! It has received an M rating and therefore does not go into the hands of children without parental consent. The whole situation is obviously biased against violent video games and Rockstar, and now it is just pathetic.

This is just more proof that Video games are still a very misunderstood platform.

That was the most bullshit newscast I've ever seen.
Reason 1: They said it was the most violent game "for children." If it was rated M for Mature, age 17+, what makes them think that the game is for children? I mean goddamn.
Reason 2: It's just showing parents are relying on the ESRB to rate games as accurately picture perfect as possible instead of looking on the damn cover. I mean for god's sake.
Reason 3: It was extremely uninformative. They just reworded what they said and said it over and over. Plus that woman who played Xbox did not help. I had to figure out what the hell they were talking about by looking at the comments.

It seems like nobody really "gets" video games outside of the gamers themselves. My girlfriend used to always call my PS2 games "Nintendo games." And I just read an article in the paper the other day where a parent wrote in with some video-game-related compaint and began with the statement "We just recently got the game called Xbox Live for our son..." I was like *facepalm*

Somebody doesn't understand the ESRB..
Oh wait, it's televised news, it's always spun to sound worse than it really is. Fox News is the worst of all, though.

"FOX News: We're Barely News At All" --- "FOX News: More Spin When You Want It" --- "FOX News: We Decide What's True, So You Don't Have To" I think my favorite FOX News story was the one where they were covering laws protecting strippers from being harassed by their customers or somesuch, and for a straight 7-10 minutes while the "expert" was talking about the issue, they had him displayed in a small box in the bottom corner of the screen, while a much larger box showed a montage of strippers all working their craft. mrgreen
