She stared silently into the distance, watching the setting sun, the warm light seeming to set her crimson eyes aglow. She licked her lips as she watched the golden sun dip behind the mountains, a hint of salt upon her upper lip filling her mouth with its well-known taste. She sighed softly as she ran her thumb over her staff, the silvery metal cool under her fingertips, as her gaze roamed the fields. The lights of the city shimmered in the distance and she slowly set out towards them.
The smell of the city and all its filth was repulsive to her nose, but something kept her from detesting it entirely. The sword at her side clicked softly, accompanied by the quiet tap of her staff as she walked through the town square and to the lovely alabaster fountain. She dipped her hand into the water, and then brought it to her lips, taking a sip from her cupped palm. She then shook the water from her hand and pushed back the hood of her tunic, long blonde hair falling about her shoulders silently, and the light of the night reflecting off her golden tresses.
She had caught sight of the temple nearby and had thought about staying the night there, until she'd seen the crest that adorned the entrance of the temple. She would not find herself welcomed there; she would have to stay somewhere else. She tapped her staff against the alabaster of the fountain gently, the lovely silver changing to simple wood. It was best to not draw attention to oneself by having expensive trinkets and the like. She then rose from the fountain and made her way towards a nearby inn.
