Aphrodite stood out like a sore thumb normally, but here she was even more obvious. The setting was rather dark, as the sun had already gone down, and she was vaguely creeped out by the sunken ship nearby. She shuddered as she swam past, disliking all things spooky or sinister. On the way over, however, she couldn't help but stare at it.

After several minutes of just floating and staring, Aphrodite realized how silly she must look, and snapped out of it, backing away slowly. Something just didn't seem right about this place. It was eerie, but it intrigued her all the same. Still, the feeling that she was being watched prompted her to leave.

"Is anyone there?" She called out nervously, looking around and seeing no one in the partial light. "Anybody?"

In fact she was being watched, by a rather scary looking creature. Athari was covered from head to tail in scars and chips, and her pale eyes glowed from inside the ship. She had the overwhelming urge to scare the other female, maybe make some haunting ghost sounds, but she resisted with much effort.

Swimming out from inside the ship, the scarred whale watched the brightly colored one with an interested gaze. "I'm sorry if I frightened you. I didn't expect anyone else to be here, and I was just examining the ship." She said with a smile, hoping her friendliness would win over the other. She was in desperate need of females for the pod, and shehoped this one would be guillible or sinister enough to join.

"Oh! No, it' wasn't your fault." Aphrodite stammered, startled slightly. She winced as she saw the scars, but said nothing, not wanting to offend her. "This place is just... Eerie, that's all."

"Anyway," She waved her fin, desperate for a change of subject, "My name is Aphrodite, what's yours?" She asked curiously, trying her best to be polite, while in reality she was only really talking to her to keep her mind off of the creepy surroundings.

Athari smiled at the other, her gaze holding strong. "I am Athari, messenger of Maachio'Machwa. It is nice to meet you, Aphrodite." She said, nodding her head in greeting. "This area is rather spooky at night, I agree. But it's quite lovely during the day." She said, knowing that sharks and other creatures crept around in the shadows. She didn't speak the though, not wanting to scare away the other whale.

"Nice to meet you too, Athari. Who's that?" She asked, surprised by such an elaborate name. He must be important to have a messenger though. "Is that so? I'd love to see it." She glanced at the ship again, but quickly looked away, doing her best not to imagine what could lurk within. Other than Athari, of course.

Athari made a faux-surprise expression, blinking rapidly. "You do not know of the Gods?" She asked, shaking her head, like she was dissapointed. "Maachio'Machwa is the whale God. He is the ultimate ruler of our kind." She smiled, watching for the others reaction.

"Come, I will speak more of him inside." She turned and swam slowly into the ship, hoping the bright female would follow.

The gods? Aphrodite had never really heard of them before, but the subject intrigued her. She hesitated, but followed cautiously, afraid someone might attack her once she was inside. Still... She was too absorbed in the idea of learning more of these gods to turn back.

"Is he... Scary?" She whispered, though she didn't know why, "Or is he nice?"

Athari laughed, a very rare occurance indeed, and shook her head. "He is kind and good. He only punishes those who deserve it. Embrace him and his rule, and he will shower you with fortune, and keep you in the afterlife in eternal salvation. Refuse him, and be damned to hell forevermore." She had spoken the speech so many times before, that it rolled off her tongue naturally. She watched the other female with a calculating gaze, wondering if the idea of the Gods wrath would make her join.

"Wow, that's interesting." Aphrodite was in awe. She loved the idea of what would happen if she joined in, and payed almost no attention to the more frightening bit.

"I'd love to serve him!" She said excitedly, "What do I have to do to please him?" She grinned, "I'd be more than willing to do anything that he asks of me."
