The sun was setting, leaving the few clouds a dusty pink while the sky faded from orange to a deep blue. This was the prettiest time of the day. The time before the sun was completly gone over the horizon. It wasn't quiet yet. everywhere around the brightly colored cheetah there were little ones begging for attention before bed time. What should have been relaxing just gave her a headache.

An irritated frown was plastered on her face, dust clinging to her forhead and eyes. She coughed. Dusty homes were not something she considered 'nice'. She turned her head glancing to see if Xana was still sleeping. And of course, the lazy thing was. 'Virgin my tail.' She thought and huffed. All night he just wanted her to be his prize or something. Why she had ever taken him home was a mystery.

Kuumia had slept the day away curled next to him, waking up only because he kicked her continuosly in his sleep. She felt awkward. Bringing home a stranger. Waking up to someone with her shocked her. Making her get out to think and try and remember what had happened. She remembered her getting angry, and that was it. Her lime face turned back to the inside her her den and her body followed.

"WAKE UP." She half screamed in his ear. "Do you ALWAYS sleep this much?!"

The cheetah kicked out into a stretch with a soft, long mew that ended with a pop of a joint somewhere on his body. He licked his lips and sat up rather dignifitly. The cheetah stretched out such roughness, a quick strong kick of each leg and a stretch of the back, each replying with a crack or a pop. He opened his deep, sharp eyes... however, he quickly jerked his head around before stopping on the female.

"Where am I?" He questioned, a voice deeper and rougher than the one he was using before when he had met her. He looked around, sniffing quickly of the scent. It reeked of the female. Taking a second glance, he recalled that this was her den, the place where he had asked her to take him the while before. Scratching his neck, he tried to remember what had transgressed since they had met.

He recalled pretending to be Xivati, to try and scare her away... apparently, that did not work too well. She knew his name was Xanatos so that is one point for her if he had ran away from her. She could find him again, that is if anyone else knew him. He smirked and shook his head. There was no one out there that knew his name but her, at least that he knew of.

Ignoring her question, he yawned and walked past her, nudging her softly. "Stay inside..." His voice was deep and dark, an entirely different persona than the one she had met. He could care less if she found it strange or even caught on for that matter. He just had things to do and being with her just put a hinder on things. As of now, his affinity for shiny things... well, one already knows.

Her face twisted awkwardly with every pop, sending a shiver up her spine. She never liked the sound, or the feeling when she popped anything in her body, but hearing someone else made it so much worse. Her amber eyes stared down at him, waiting for him to open his eyes and do something. He had been a boring lump of a cheetah all day, even if her 'day' had just started.

"What do you mean where are you?" She bopped him on the head and huffed. Was she that easily forgotten? She was suposed to be memorable. Especially how she had acted the night before. Kuumia figured that she would be burned into his mind forever for being, well, herself. There really wasn't any way to put it other than that.

Kuumia didn't move. 'Stay inside?' She repeated in her head. But, she didn't WANT to stay inside. She needed to stretch her legs and it was the most beutiful time for the day. Why not enjoy it? "Why should I?" She asked him grumpily. Not like he was the boss of her. He wished he was the boss of her. Wo wouldn't after all? She was much prettier than all the cheetahs around here.

Xanatos shook his head and allowed her be for the time being. He looked around cautiously as if he were expecting to see someone, someone who might have follown the two. Mostly him, he did not know if Kuumia had any issues herself, but he knew he sure did. If it were not for his pretend personality, others would have locked on him. He may share the same color as the supposed "Xivati" but his name was different and his behavior too.

"You don't have to listen to me, if you do not wish to. I am only saying that it was best for me to come out first for a while," he spoke, slightly cryptic, but it was somewhat of a sign of something or other. He moved about, feeling the grass under his paws, taking him to his comfort zone. The grass was his shelter, hid him for all watchful eyes, and his comfort. He purred a little, kneeding the grass before looking back at the female.

"Right..." he mumbled.

Kuumia huffed and glared. When he wasn't sleeping, he was watching stuff. And when he wasn't watching stuff he was sleeping. Boy, had she picked a lazy boy or what? It seemed he only cared about other people finding him. Which would be hard for them anyways. Since he was ALWAYS sleeping and hidden away. Stupid Xana. Stupid Stupid Xana. Here she was thinking he was nastier and meaner than her but it looked like she was wrong.

"GOOD. Cause I wasn't planning on it anyways." Half true. She stayed behind him and watched from the opening of her den. Wondering why he was telling her what to do. He hadn't earned the right to make her do anything. And by the way then hadn't talked much it seemed he never would. She had no reason to follow what he said.

She had greedy eyes that wanted someone gorgeous to have for herself. To make others stop and stare. Even if that meant having to put up with a little bossy thing.

He sighed, she was being annoying, but it was rather difficult with his true nature. She knew his name so pretending to be Xivati will not help him here. He was too good to just try and scare her off with some nasty trick or something. He sighed and stepped out further. Bribing wasn't something he had planned on, it was wrong to steel but he could not help it when it comes to almost being caught, that adrenaline, the excitement, it was hard to get over. To almost be caught is too much fun.

"Kuumia, do whatever you want. Just don't tell anyone I am around, if anyone asks, there isn't anyone like me around here," he spoke in a rather deep, serious tone. He cannot afford having anyone seeing him here. He may be mistaken as Xivati, though they would not be wrong.

It was rude how he stayed with the female without expressing the asking and traditional stuff. It could not be helped, he was proven wrong and most of all, he felt sorry about it. She was a decent female but he wasn't ready to mate just yet so that thought was too far away to cross the mind.

Kuumia crinkled her noes and stared up at him. She didn't do anything to him, yet it seemed he hated her. Pure disdain, really. She hadn't attacked him. Only bothered him slightly. She was frustrated. Her amber eyes watering while she bit her tongue pretending it didn't matter. But it did matter. The one person she had talked to in an almost friendly matter. She wanted him to be permanent. And knowing that was impossible made her put more walls up.

"Why?" Was the only word to roll off her lips. Her claws just digging into the ground, upturning the sandy dirt. What was he hiding? Did her have more secrets than he was willing to share? Of course. There were always secrets left untold. And it was probobly the only reason she couldn't accept him for who he was. Not yet anyways. She blinked, 'He's probably going to become every lie he's pretending to be.' And so far, she wanted no part of that.

This was unexpected. Making a friend. Trying to move slowly to break down walls. She wondered if she was out of line. Wondering if this was the one she'd make a shot on. but that was going to take a long time. Longer than she wanted to thing of. He was what she wanted for the time being. Arm candy. And for now everything seemed just fine.

"I have my reasons. I'll tell you one day when I fell you should know it." he spoke before heading a little ways away. The field seem clear, luckily, there should not be too many that would know who he is. He had a few choices to make and they could make a quite an impact. He had to either give up 'Xivati' and live a normal life without paranoia or continue as he has to satisfy for his obession with shiny things. It was hard to choose... he was a grown male now, not the juvenile he was when he was younger. He was stronger, more defined... was he gonna continue his life as a thief? An alias that his friends have given him all those moons ago?

He rubbed the back of his head, rolling his shoulders.

"This is going to be quite troublesome it seems..." he looked over his shoulder and saw that Kuumia, the strangely green cheetah was not too far a ways off. He needed some time to think and it seemed that he could not do that with her around. For many reasons, but most importantly, she was just too distracting.

Xana looked at his paws, remembering where they have been, the places that he hit, the den that he hid all his treasures, and the people he pushed away. He was living a conflicting life where Xivati was his youth, taking over to fufill his obession where as his self wants to be mature and grown up. Choices... choices...

Kuumia felt pushed away, as if he didn't even want her near him. Like she was just another obstacle that he had to overcome and leave it behind. His past was what pulled her in. The thought of something unknown interested her. But that one thing that made her want him even more was what pushed her away. It puzzled her. She gets what she wants. That's how it was supposed to be. She was the one chased, but now she was the chaser. What had sparked so much inside of her? Was it the looks, or the fact of not knowing?

Looking up she noticed him walking away. To follow or not to follow? She thought, taking a step forward then backwards again. Then, thinking it best to stop chasing for only a moment, she walked the other direction. He needed his time and she needed his. Kuumia was almost positive that his head was just as confused and full of thoughts that needed to be sorted as hers.

Maybe she should just leave for a while. Clear her head for a day. Or maybe just force him to sit down and explain himself. No. The first Idea seemed better. There was just to much going on. Every second she thought about it, another question popped into her head. Should she just stop, go to sleep? Hoping that everything was just a dream? She didn't know. And She didn't know how to handle herself anymore.

Xana looked behind him to see Kuumia was still there. Good, she was not following him. As much as he liked having someone listen to him and follow through with his words, he did not like to demand such. It was much more for her safety than anything. He was gonna be wanted if anyone knew of Xivati and could put a face to his name. What he had gotten Kuumia into was more than he knew, one that he would not want onto others. How long he will be with this female was unknown. Hell, he might have to leave her if he thought her life was in graver danger than he thought, but that just opens himself up for yet another female. With sigh he stretched out his back to show Kuumia that nothing was wrong.

"Kuumia, I have to go. Just stay here until I get back, alright?" he spoke. He was pretty sure that she was going to object. He was pretty sure she was going to rebel to make sure he knew that she was a strong female, an independent one that could take care of herself. He said nothing else and dashed off. If she followed him, he would have to lose her. The place where he was going was too secret, hell, he wasn't even telling her about himself, the real him and what he does.

... no, what he did.

He sprinted faster and faster until he could not smell her scent anymore. Under his breath, he prayed for her safety and his own return.
