Oh. Mygod.
So They've finally released a Lobster Johnson miniseries. Now, I'm undeniably bias - I love the character, I love Pulp fiction and I love Hellboy, so there's no possible way I could think this would suck.
It's a good start though, lots of action, a few interesting hooks - there's a couple of ways it could go but nothing definate in either direction.
Anyone else got any thoughts on this? Especially considering how much this review sucks...
More of a summary, really...

He represents the paranormal defence pre-hellboy. He fought crime and the supernatural during WW2 (so Nazis on both accounts) and possibly didn't exist (I gather that official policy is that he was fictional, but actually wasnt). Hellboy was a big fan of his - he's an Idol of his. They met at one point, long after Lobster Johnson's death (we think, it's also a little vuage). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lobster_Johnson

"That's a nice suit, Mr. Sacks." ninja
Oh god, I want second issue. gonk
Kinda digging the art style. Very reminiscent of Guy Davis's work, which is probably part of why they chose the guy.

I think it's one of those things that they just accept is going to happen - Pulp's aged oddly, the whole manly-detective and swooning dames things Is a bit silly these days. The best comics, like this (or The Spirit, which actually does it better), runs with this - plays it slightly tongue-in-cheek.
I reckon.

I just got the TPB about a week ago. I love the art in it almost as much as I love Mignola's art! I enjoyed it immensely, especially an explanation of that guy who helped Liz beat Katha-Hem and the little device.

I haven't heard of him before this, I need to wiki him. ._.;;
According to Guillermo del Toro, he may show up in the third movie.

Sugar Bird I haven't heard of him before this, I need to wiki him. ._.;; According to Guillermo del Toro, he may show up in the third movie. DARKSHAPES ACCUMULATE- Yeah, his ghost shows up at opportune times in the HB and BPRD comics, usually when there are nazis to be fought or an old enemy of his. He materialized out of Johann's ectoplasm once.
