The air was cold and the light was still very pale. The sun had just gone down a few hours ago, yet it's bright glow still remained within the sky, to a certain extant. However, while the air was warm and cozy beforehand, it had grown to be cold and very still, not moving around much. This was generally alright, except for this certain occasion.
Snuggled up in a small patch of leaves, flowers, sticks, and some fur that had been gathered, a very dark egg sat. A bright purple design on the front of it lit up slightly, and a hazy purple mist wavered around it, protecting it from any potential harm. Sparkling jewels and beads lay about the egg, making it look very sweet and precious, while a dark, spiraling horn jutted out from near the top of it, making it look quite deadly.
Whether this dark-looking egg held a sweet being, or a dark being, was anyone's guess. Only time would tell.

Numair was out for an evening stroll, the remaining light in the sky reflecting off his white fur and giving it an odd glow. These strolls had become routine for the fair furred Kirishitsuno. But even though he had gone on many nightly strolls, he had yet to meet another. His was a lonely existence.
Sighing, Numair pushed on, not letting such thoughts drag him down. He enjoyed these walks with crisp night air flowing around him and silence broken only by the chatter of a few nocturnal creatures.
About to turn down another route, he paused as a glitter in the distance caught his eye. He trotted down the path toward it and stopped. It was an odd looking egg like none he had seen before. Curiously, he bent down and gave it a little nudge with his nose.

The nudge of the rather large white and red newcomer made the perfect looking egg rock backwards, and then back forwards again. At first, it had seemed like nothing had gone wrong, as it peacefully sat there. Within a matter of seconds though, the hazy purple mist that floated around it expanded, covering the egg in it's entirety. It grew more and more thick, getting to the point of where the egg couldn't be seen anymore.
Quite a sneaky trick it had played. Regardless though, the jewelry on the egg still sparkled, giving it away in an instant. So much for it's trick.

Numair blinked and watched in surprise as the mist surrounded the egg. That, he was sure, was not a normal thing for an egg to do. He reached out a pawed foot and poked at the egg.
Where did you come from? he thought to the egg. Why was it out here alone where it could be harmed? He gave their surroundings a quick scan to be sure there was nothing there.

Seeing as how this bigger creature wouldn't stop, the mist contracted, going back to swirling about the egg. It was poked this time, making the egg tip over slightly. The mist didn't come back though. It stayed docile, this time at least.
When the white and red Kiri sent his thought to this dark egg, silence came afterwards. Within a matter of a few seconds though, a very weird sound came from it, telepathically, talking in the white and red Kiri's mind. It was some sort of... Of.. Gurgling sound.

He had to laugh a little at the sound coming from the egg. I suppose I shouldn't have expected you to be able to speak yet, he thought to the egg, amused at his own silliness. He paused and looked around again. You shouldn't be out here all alone like this. Who knows what might come along? He walked around the egg, looking it over to see if it was unharmed.

The dark egg continued to make its gurgling sound, just filling the Kiri's mind with this odd noise. It was like it was trying to speak, just as he did, but couldn't. So, it just made the gurgling noise some more, hoping to have something happen due to it. After all, what else could it do?
That's when it got an idea.
As Numair circled around, the egg slowly shifted itself to the side, tipping over what seemed to be its nest. Slowly, it began to roll, not getting very far. Still, at least it had moved.

Numair paused in his circling to watch the egg roll. He tilted his head, pondering what the egg wanted. Did you want to go somewhere? he asked curiously. It was hard to understand what exactly the gurgling noises meant.

The egg had stopped for a brief second, and then rolled onwards, hitting a stick and bouncing a little bit, the necklace that had been hanging around it falling off. Of course, it didn't know about it, so it just kept rolling right along, like nothing had happened.

Ah! Numair quickly followed after the egg, scooping up the necklace with his mouth as he hurried to catch up with the egg. Hey! Wait up! The bouncing of the egg worried Numair. What if it bounced on something hard and split it open? The thought sent panic lancing up his spine.

The egg kept on rolling away from Numair, the weird gurgling sound coming from it again. It was like it was trying to laugh, or something like that. After all, rolling away from someone who wanted you to stop was a lot of fun, right? It had to be, as the egg just kept going and going.

Numair trotted after the egg. After a few unanswered calls to stop, he gave up and just followed after the egg to make sure it didn't harm itself along the way.

Stopping every now and then, the egg just sat there. It didn't know where to go, as it couldn't see anything. It continued to roll onward though, just to have something to do. Where was that voice? Did it go away? In an attempt to find it, the egg gurgled some more, hoping to hear it talk back.

Numair watched over the egg as it continued rolling. Is that fun? he asked, knowing he wouldn't get an answer that he could understand since the egg had only made gurgling sounds so far. If you roll too fast, you might hurt yourself.

As if the egg was actually listening and understood him, it slowed down, rolling at a slow, yet steady pace. It gurgled some more, a few more high pitched sounds coming into play this time. Slowly, it was picking up on sounds that Numair made, and slowly, it was copying them.
