This is one of the best anime movies I've seen lately... Well "lately" being a two years time period...
What's it about? It's a story about an alien music group, that gets abducted by an evil dude who brainwashes them, disguises them as humans, and has them make millions for him.
Some may remember the anime-style Daft Punk videos that were seen quite often years ago. The movie was unique because instead of half-assed dialogues, they had Daft Punk's music all through it.
Still, the movie doesn't need dialogue for anyone to understand what's going on, and I frankly liked the plot of this one better than most over-blown anime movies that do get distributed in this half of the world.
I specially liked the real meaning of the title. 5555 is such an awesome number if you look at it that way...

Yeah! As I was reading it clicked in my head "Daft Punk"!
At first I came because the title reminded me of "Galaxy Express Train 999"! =O It kinda' has the same art. Same artist maybe? I think anime characters looked like that back then... way back when... *cough* When we were kids.

Whoot! Oh yeah! It may have been 7 years ago, but in anime-developing style, that was ages ago! xD Now with those 3-D Gundams and what-not... I miss the old drawn out style that stayed in the anime.
Its all 1337, "Interstella 555: The 5t0ry of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem". Will Daft Punk ever cease to amaze me?
It would be cool if they made a continuation... with dialogue... I like words. But their take was amazing. Like a rock opera. =D

Fairy Sage: you're correct, it's from the same artist
Leiji Matsumoto - Star Blazers, Spacekateers, Dangaurd Ace, Captain Harlock, Queen Emeraldas, Galaxy Express 999, The Galaxy Railways (to name a few).
Sounds interesting. I definitely will check this out.

Aw... ;__;
I think I saw one copy of the DVD in my life! =O And then there is the internets!
Daft Punk hasn't come out with new stuff - lately... "Technologic" music video creeps me out.

I just watched it. The funny thing about it was it reminded me of the Smurfs at first glance. It also reminded my brother as well when I was showing it to him too. Of course, then Captain Harlock came to mind and a few others.
It was definitely fun to watch.
