As the autumn equinox approaches I was just wondering what activities you had planned if any? I live in apartment with four other people and I will be making a huge dinner for us all that day. I also want to do some arts and crafts celebrating the sabbat of Mabon (or however you would like to call it), and a small ritual. I have been living as a Pagan for 5 years nows and was hoping to hear some fresh ideas that maybe I had never tried before in relation to this celebration.
Blessed Be, Gwyn

This will be my first time celebrating Mabon. ^_^ I'm excited. I not really sure what I'll be doing, but I'm still looking forward to it. I have nobody to make a big dinner for, so, that's out I guess. lol.

I have nobody to make a big dinner for, so, that's out I guess. lol. One year when I didn't have anybody to cook for I went to Boston Market and got a turkey dinner with green beans and corn. I know it sounds kind of cheesy to go somewhere like that, but I think it's perfect for the solitary practitioner. Their food is all really fresh (I used to work there when I was in high school XD) and really tasty. You even get cornbread with your meal. In my opinion it is a great way to have your own personal feast on the equinox. =]

lol. I'll probably get off of my lazy butt and make some chicken for dinner or something...That's about the only thing (full meal wise) we have to eat around here. It's cheap. XD
But other than that, I should be doing a little ritual of some sort. I've only recently began actual practice. I've been studying everything, but never really did any of it, until now. This will be my second celebrated Sabbat. ^_^

Over the years Mabon has become one of my favorite sabbats, but it really does help if you have other people to celebrate it with. You don't know any pagans in your area?

None at all. =/ I'm all by myself pretty much. Well, there's one other, Becca. But she's not allowed to practice or anything, so that's out. And any other 'pagans' that go to my school are just faking to get attention. rolleyes

It also is much less stressful having everybody to put effort in and there's some really good group activities.

I got an awesome book today at B&N called "Sabbats" by Edain McCoy. It's really great book for ideas and rituals for celebrating all of the sabbats. I suggest it to anyone! They have solitary and group rituals for each sabbats, recipes, crafts, history, and more! I just got it so I haven't looked through it a whole lot yet, but once I do I'll post any especially good ideas on here. 3nodding

If I can't get it before Mabon, do you think you could PM me a few of the ideas? I know it's a lot to ask, and I'll be perfectly ok if you don't want to. ^_^

I think my boyfriend and I will celebrate by taking a walk in the woods, to notice the change of the trees and the chilliness in the air to worship THe Goddess and Mother Nature in their glory and at work.
