 Quietly Rayana lifted a paw and placed it upon the ground, being careful not to startle her prey or shift the bright green grass in which she was playing. The young kit's eyes were locked upon the colorful butterfly's slowly flapping wings, but her other senses were on the alert for anything that would catch her intrest more than the butterfly had. Ruby colored fur, like the flowers that bloomed in the spring, was such a stark contrast to the grass beneith her that Raya would have undoubtably failed at stalking anything other than an insect. With a sudden spring forward and a good amount of aim, the little kit caught hold of the butterfly. Worried that she might had squished her flutterby friend, Rayana opened her paws carefully and let the multicolored insect crawl to the edge of her 'fingers'. Giggling softly as the butterfly cleaned it's proboscus, the young girl paid no attention to what was around her....

 Karis was walking around. She loved how this part of the forest had so many butterflies. She always admired how free they were to just flutter to and fro about their day. She always found it cute when more than one all fluttered around each other. Her sapphire blue eyes trailed around taking things in.
She was struck with a fascinating curiosity about something red and sticking out in the grass. At first, she wondered if it was her friend Carnage or not. The closer she walked she realized it couldn't be him. It was much too small. Was this little holding a butterfly in her hand? How adoreable!

Giggling loudly as the butterfly fluttered from her paw to her nose, Rayana twirled around slightly as she became cross-eyed in her attempts to look at her new friend. Blinking and then trying to see the butterfly again, the little female twitched her nose and tried not to sneeze because of the tickling of its small legs. Oblivious to the purple adult who had wondered into the small brightly colored clearing, Rayana continued in her attempts to view the butterfly that had now settled between her eyes...

Karis wanted to much to praise her on the wonderful accomplishment of entertaining a butterfly without scaring it off. She only sat still and said nothing as to not scare the fluttery friend away. She didn't want to ruin what seemed like a perfectly good time.
Karis wondered to herself if one day she would have kits. If her children would love butterflies like this. She smiled and wagged her tail.

By now the butterfly's feet had disturbed her sensitive nose, and with a soft 'ahhh' Rayana sneezed, causing the butterfly to flap frantically into the air. Looking sadly up at the gliding insect as it retreated from its resting place on her nose, the little kit blinked and her attention was imidietly was caught up with a pretty flower. But as she turned to inspect it, Raya finally noticed the purple female....

Karis smiled softly and didn't make any sudden movements, not wanting to frighten the young girl. "Do you play with the butterflies often? You must be very good at it. I try all the time; but they won't let me hold onto them."
She slid down her front legs down on the ground relaxing. She hoped perhaps getting on the same level as the kit would make their meeting a bit more personal. She didn't know for sure; but she surmised that children wouldn't appreciate being talked down to. And, what if her height made her fearsome? That wouldn't do at all.

Blinking slightly as the female began to talk to her, Rayana hopped closer to her as if she were a bunny. The woman seemed nice enough to talk to and somewhat lonely, but that was only a little kit's assumption. "Your eyes are pretty! And yes Lady Miss, I like playing with flutterbys! They're nice and they like to land on me after I catch them... they're my flutter friends!" Pausing to twitch her nose and look cross-eyed at it, Rayana then continued to talk. "I wonder why they don't let you hold them! They are very so.. sos.. so-sail with me... they love it when you tell them they are pretty. At least I'm pretty sure they do... they can't talk to me like Uncle Sinent can talk to snakes... oh that would be cool! Being able to talk with bugs and frogs and other neat things!... I think Shava can talk with snakes... not sure though... but... I like Flutterbys."

Karis smiled sincerely. "Thank you for the compliment. I think your coat is very pretty. Yes. I like Flutterby's too. I dunno. When I was little, I used to chase them a lot. I probably scared them a bit. I'll have to try telling them they look pretty and see if they like me better."
Karis sat listening to all the girl had to say. "Wow, your uncle can talk to snakes? That's amazing! I hope to have family one day too."

"Well he's not really related to me... But he took care of me when I popped out of my box. I don't have any parents so Keerty and Uncle Sinent are the closest thing I have." Grinning happily, Rayana turned in circles trying to look at her coat. "Thank you! I like it two... though I stick out a lot cause of it!" Hopping excitedly, the little ball of energy flicked her tail to and fro. "You'ld make a good mommy."

Karis chuckled softly the way she ran around trying to look at herself. "Well, look at it this way. If it makes you stand out, then it'll be twice as hard for you to get lost. That's great. It makes it easy for people who are looking for you to find you."
Karis fluffed her tail a bit from side to side happily. She had that thought of children. She could feel somewhere deep inside her, that biological clock girls sometimes got when something inside of them craved to begin a new cycle of life. "Hey, who knows.. maybe by the time I have kits of my own.. you'll be big enough to come babysit or help me out with my babies. I bet you'd make a great kit-helper."

Cocking her head to the side, Rayanna made her face become very serious. "Unless the people looking for you want to hurt you." Then an explosion of laughter broke the fake tenseness of the situation as the little kit rolled in the grass happily batting at grass stalks.
"Really? I could play with your kits if you have them? I love making new friends! I make friends with everyone I meet... well... except for that one kitty Ulaya... Tona.. Fona... THONA! Thats it his name was Thona... He called me a name and told me to go away."

Karis smiled and clapped her paws together. "Well... maybe he likes you? You know.. I know it will sound confusing. But, sometimes... if a little boy likes a girl. He will sometimes pick on her.. cuz boys get to feeling weird when they like someone. they feel all embarrassed and don't know what to say or do... I bet he will be nicer and come around as you get a little older. Especially when you are close to growing into your adulthood. He'll like you lots."
Karis sat hoping it would be great to feel good with herself. She felt like she was consoling and giving great advice. "And... yes. Whenever the day comes that is meant for me to have some kits of my own.. you're more then welcome to come help me. As it is right now though.. I almost never seem to run into ulayas. Or.. at least any who want to talk to me who are not children." She blushed looking away wondering if the little girl would think less of her for not having lots of grown up friends.

"Butbutbut. Thona is an adult and he's mean to everyone... Keerty called him an annoying bundle of stuck up cat... or something like that." Twitching her tail slightly as she screwed up her face in thought, Raya finally put a paw to her head. "Awe. I forgot to tell you my name! I tend to do that a lot... Keerty said I had short term memory loss... or I was just a annoying bushel of small kit who shouldn't bother her in her sleep if I wanted to keep my tail." Lifting her back leg, the young kit scratched behind her ear like a dog. "But anyways... My name is Rayana."

Karis slid down on her stomach. She preferred getting on an eye to eye level with kits. Made her feel like she was talking with them and not at them. "My name is Karis, and it's very nice to meet you Rayana. I hope we'll be very good friends.. and maybe after you grow up, you'll still remember me."

"Of course I'll remember you! I remember what everybody looks like... just not some of their names." Twitching her nose, Rayana wiggled her tail as the grown up settled down on to her stomach. "Karis is a pretty name. Its pretty like your coat!" Flicking her ears forward and back in an amusing pattern, the young kit bobbed her head from side to side.
