http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/Evils in America/Rock-n-Roll/freddie_mercury.htmparts of this made me laugh out loud ("erotic body contortions" X3), and parts of it pissed me off. i've actually met people who think like this, and have seen many similar websites, and you really have to try to be the better person and not to pay them much heed. still, it can be quite upsetting. (and what's with the apocalyptic music?)

Yeah... because we all know that Zoroastrianism is magic. i've never heard the song "Lover Boy." Does he mean "Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy," perhaps?

"THE DEVIL'S MUSIC":
"You know that every day a helpless child is born Who needs some loving care inside a happy home Somewhere a wealthy man is sitting on his throne Waiting for life to go by" --"is this the world we created"
"I had a dream When I was young A dream of sweet illusion A glimpse of hope and unity And visions of one sweet union" --"one vision"
"If every child on every street, had clothes to wear and food to eat That's a miracle If all God's people could be free, to live in perfect harmony It's a miracle The one thing we're all waiting for, is peace on Earth - an end to war It's a miracle we need" --"the miracle"
oh yeah, the man's burning in hell.

Man, that was retarded. And as most threads like this often derail into some unsightly religious argument... I have to say something beforehand (in case that happens) about people like this who write these kind of articles. First off, they are not what I call Christians, mainly because they judge for themselves who deserves to go to heaven or hell (keep in mind that none of these people ever mention the Millennial Kingdom, which just shows you how little they know about their own faith). Even men who lived horrible, debauched lives can be saved if they honestly repent on their deathbeds, according to the Bible. The Bible also says that Christians are not to judge any outside the faith, but to simply try to convert them without hindering God's work in them. This is all a blatant invective by a "look at me and how faithful I am" kind of person who believes they're good Christians just by going to church and never picking up God's own bleedin' word and reading it for themselves. We put Gutenburg to shame by not even reading what he worked hard to make available to his contemporaries, and furthermore Martin Luther for nailing his 95 Theses on the door of the Roman Catholic church and not even separating ourselves from that process in which we're taught by the pulpit. Most "Christians" are no more learned in the Bible than people were in the days before those two, because they never read a bloody thing and believe going to church saves them. I've seen this kinda garbage a lot. I haven't gone to church since I was really little because the people there were abusive jerks to me and my family, and quite a few "upright Christians" I've encountered have an air of superiority because they go to church and everything. These days, it's not a matter of knowledge and understanding, it's how many social events you go to that have "Jesus" in the title. Before you ask, yes, I'm horribly cynical about people in general. razz Just keep in mind that you have to judge the faith itself, not its followers, as the latter are the most awful example of anything there is, in almost anything. Frankly, that whole article is written from an omniscient, all-knowing perspective when the writer has absolutely no idea what he's talking about. Take it as a grain of salt, because it's worth nothing more than that. EDIT: Hmm... after poking around the site, I'm starting to wonder if this is just somebody trying to be a troll. They call everything evil. xd Oh dear crap... guys, this site is absolutely horrible. DANCING IS EVIL. Another case of no one reading the Bible, because there is dancing in the Bible. The only bad kind of dancing is dirty dancing, in which suggestive outfits, moves, or positions are encouraged. This is just stupid. *shakes head in annoyance*

Yeah, you should. Chris Rock's character says some things that i think you'd like. Of course, if you're both Catholic and easily offended, don't watch it. (Note: Some Catholics i know (read: me) love the movie.) If you're easily offended, don't watch it. If you hate Jay and Silent Bob, don't watch it. Other than that, Dogma is one of the best promotions of decency in religion i've ever seen.

Hmm, I see, maybe I will. I mean, if Chris Rock said it, that's definitely worth looking into. razz Generally I don't think I get offended very easily, just annoyed when someone's bashing something without reason or a point, which applies to most every subject. I've only heard of Jay and Silent Bob, though. xp

It bashes the modern Catholic church, but it has good reasons.

I remember laughing at the site in grade eight...it's what helped me decide to go to hell-look who else is there or will be there! Fred, the Beatles, the Stones, Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Santana, Bowie, Ozzy, Dylan, Jim Morrison, Aerosmith, Elton John...never mind-here's the whole list-I give up Rock 'n' Roll's Hall of ShameI like this part Drummer Roger Taylor said, "I'd love to own a whorehouse." Ooh-bad Roggie! lol- Feminism=evilSatanic quotesRock Stars die young because they deserved it because they worshiped the devilQuote: It is common knowledge in the Rock 'n' Roll industry that groupies (prostitutes who follow the band around the country) wait backstage after each concert to have sex with the band members. This is their reward for selling their soul to Satan, and leading untold millions of fans into sin, judgment, and Hellfire with them. Gene Simmons, lead singer of the vile rock band KISS, has publicly bragged of having fornicated with over 4,600 women throughout his rock star career. Rock 'n' Roll is synonymous with sex. Daryl Hall of Hall and Oates said... "Rock music is 99% sex." He is correct. The reason why nearly 50,000,000 unwanted pregnancies have been terminated in America is because of fornication. Fornication is the god of Rock 'n' Roll, which is evidenced by Aerosmith's song, Angel, in which they equate sex with salvation... lolz Search the rest of the site-freaking hilarious...almost as addicting as Gaia

Soren, you have articulated my thoughts on this website so exactly that it's frightening.
One thing that bothered me more than anything else in the article is that the author stated that the reason Freddie Mercury is in hell is because he "did not obey the Gospel of Christ", when the one thing that makes Christianity fundamentally different than any other religion is that people are accepted into heaven because of their faith in God, not because they earned their way in by behaving well enough.
"He was thought to have homosexual lovers around the world."
With all due respect, how the hell do we know that? What, did you take a survey of all the gay people in the world--"Have you been romantically involved with Freddie Mercury?"
Sarcasm aside, what ticks me off most of all is how they constantly condemn people, left and right, and never show both sides of the issue. Everyone knows that if one is writing a persuasive article or essay, it is necessary to identify other opinions about the issue and intelligently debunk them.
Not to mention the writing is horrible. It just jumps from one topic to another, without any real connection between the sentences. The flow is choppy and, as a writer myself, it makes me want to stick a fork in my eye.
Whoever wrote this article could use a refresher course in sixth grade English--it would serve them well.
So...is Freddie in Hell? The bottom line is, it's frankly not our place to judge that. I suppose one could take a guess, but I wouldn't go as far as writing an article which wholly condemns him to Hell.
