The silver stallion trudged through the dry grass, and felt the long lashes hit his fur harshly. It was so dry and hot, and nature itself was barely coping. Dante didn't know how he felt about summertime, since it was the only season he had know. He was still new to the world, despite that fact that everything was so rushed from his birth.
He was constantly cautious, but he hid that feeling well. If his father was watching, or had found him, he knew he would be killed in minutes. For the time being though, he was still alive, so that was enough to keep him satisfied.
He had grown into something quite handsome, and he was told this constantly by strangers. It was strange, since his sister was still a mysterious and quiet being, and his brother had grown into something scary. But Dante was different, since he had beauty on his side. Others didn't avoid him, and many were unaware of the plaguing memories and truths behind his existence. He was too good at faking, and he found himself putting a mask on to preserve his sanity. His real reality was too shameful, and lying brought him an easier life.
Giving a light sigh, he continued to make his way through the grass, while quietly watching the dry area. Apparently everything changed when fall came, but the stallion would believe that when his eyes could see it.

Life was unfair.
Sukari knew this perhaps better than anyone- it had become somewhat of a mantra for her after what had happened in her younger years. She reminded herself of these words every time she was tempted to curse at the world, at all that had made her life what it was- but she was never more tempted to do so than right now.
Baskets. She and a stallion were having children. She didn't just dislike the idea, she loathed it with every fiber of her being. She didn't want a mate, she didn't want a family, and she certainly did not want little brats of her own! Were she a little crueler in nature, and if they weren't of her own flesh and blood, she might have just killed the damn things out of spite. But Sukari, however cold and cruel she was, was not a killer. Not since what had happened with her brother.
A deep, exasperated, and angered sigh was heaved from her lungs as the silver and ebony winged mare simply wandered across the grassy expanse, looking for something- anything- that would grant a temporary reprieve from her torturous thoughts- from the burden she had left in the care of her herdmates.

Dante was shocked to see something else that had a similar coloring to his own, and he stopped himself before looking closer. He still hadn't seen what his father looked like, so a panic returned to his brain for a brief moment, but he then was able to realize that it was a kind looking mare! She had wings and a long tail, and that was certainly not known to be on his demon father. It was like, the complete opposite of what his supposed father had.
Taking in a breath of happiness, he continued to walk lazily, until he was closer to where the female was.
"Good day.." he said, in a very plain tone. His mood was its usual, drifting self, and his eyes watched her lazily as he approached. He wasn't the type to be energetic, but he gave her a slight nod before stopping in front of her. "Another gray I see."
It was a typical response fro the stallion, and he shook his head to get his hair out of his eyes.
