I posted this in the Wicked Guild as well, but I know several people here are very familiar with this show.
Now, the most memorable song of this show, as we know, is "Defying Gravity", and to fans of the show, it is probably their favorite song.
I was randomly roaming iTunes and I decided to search up some of Idina Menzel's songs, and I stumble on her own adapted pop-version of "Defying Gravity".
...
Okay, that song wasn't half bad, at least in my own opinion, and I wouldn't blame people for thinking otherwise.
But I kept looking and, to my horror, I found other versions of this song: dance club remixes.

I found them funny, but I don't like them.
If you have iTunes, I suggest listening to the demos in the iTunes shop. You don't have to buy the song...but it's quite funny to hear.
Listen for yourself, tell me what you think!

I heard the "Defying Gravity" remix for the first time at the Gay Pride Parade. It took me a minute to realize what it was. It wasn't bad, but I'm not really the techno/IDM type, so I'm probably not the best judge.
I haven't heard the pop version. I may have to scour YouTube and find it....cause if it's on popular radio, that means my brother's listening to it. And that'd be a miracle and a half. rofl

Ohmigod the remix versions of that song are awful. I didn't love the Idina Menzel pop version. But some songs shouldn't be made into dance remixes like this one.

Yeah, i heard those and bought the best one. Its pretty rockin. One only needs ONE of them..cuz the five different remixes don't vary as much as they need to.

I saw that there was maybe 3 different techno versions of defying gravity. Maybe if I had never heard the actual song I would like the remixes. They're ok...but not impressive.

If you're gonna buy one of them...the only one worth buying is the Funky Juction & Antony Reale Club Mix. this one is the techno one. Im no techno fan...but i was excited to find this. smile
There is also another version of the song that she did. Its not techno tho...
Its just the Defying Gravity -single. It's just a bit more instrumental than the musical theatre version on the original soundtrack. I think it's good. smile
