If Anita had really been pregnant, who would really have made the best father/father figure? Weither it should/could've been Jean-Claude, Richard, Nathaniel, Jason, or even if Micah could've been "right".. I'd like to hear other's opinons.

well i'd say that Micah would be good but unfortunately hes fixed but Nathaniel is better. Vampires can have kids but it is rare...the older they get the more steril they get but it is possible....and deadly especially if it has Vlad' syndrome....

I would have loved it if Nathaniel had been would-be father. It would have been wonderful and adorable. But alas...

The most likely father would've been Nathaniel. Of all the guys she was having sex with regularly, he was actually the only one biologically able to help conceive a child. Sure, there's the slim possibility of Jean-Claude, but he's at least 400 years old which makes that a VERY slim chance. There's also Richard, but...well we all just hoped it wasn't him. And a very good point was raised in the book. Nathaniel is the only one who could easily make himself as available as would be necessary to take care of the baby. Yeah he's a stripper, but I think he'd make a good father...or at least he has a nurturing spirit. The kid wouldn't know what normal is no matter who the father ended up being, but it would've been raised the best under Nathaniel's watch.
If Micah could have kids, I would've said he should be the father, but I guess he could be co-papi with Nate.

I agree that Nathan should have been the father, and should be if it happens in the future. It will give him a place in Anita's world that NO-one else can take and he would feel so much more secure with himself and with their family.

If there was a father I think Jean-Claude would be a nice surprise. Since he is in my opinion the best guy for Anita. Though Micah and Nathaniel would probaly have to raise it the most I think they would be ok with that. 3nodding

Suppose that everyone has a chance of getting Anita pregnant:
And for those who doesn't want to read the long paragraphs below: Jean Claude or Micah would be my first choices
1. I pray to God that it won't be Richard (his baby can make him more gentle since he'll feel he "owns" Anita & baby, but he will definitely be even more determined to get that white-picket fence life, which will make him even more annoying)
2. I think Jean-Claude will be so deeply and truly happy if he has a baby with Anita. There's always been something so soft about Jean-Claude hidden underneath his strong, tough exterior, that makes me think he'll be an excellent father. It won't be a great time for him though since he always have so much danger to worry about, and a kid would distract him...sigh, maybe in the future though.
3. I think Asher, like Jean-Claude, would fully understand and treasure the miracle of a new life born. However, I think Asher is still dealing with too many of his own problems: his scars, his relationship with JC, and his new powers.
4. I find Jason a bit young for the role. He doesn't sound ready to me.
5. Nathaniel would make a good father/mother. He'll be very very happy I'm sure. He sounds like a more motherly role, but his gentle and understanding side will certainly make him a good parent. I like it that he is also calm and observant - which will make him a good father as well.
6. Other than JC, my favorite candidate is Micah (I only wish he could). Although he wasn't in a situation where he could have a child, I think with this new life, he can afford it. Micah is powerful and practical, I have no doubt he'll be a great and supportive father. Considering all the weird things the kid has to deal with, Micah would be a great father to help him/her manage everything. I think he might be slightly protective though...like he did with his leopards 4laugh

I think that JC would make a cute father. he just seems like the type. Laurell talked about the whole JC being a father thing in her blog... i forget which day... Richard as a father scares me because he is so mentally unstable himself. Micah or Nathaniel would be good dads because they are both laid back and calm and such. Jason just seems too young mentally to be a dad. he likes his fun too much to take care of a kid. Asher... idk. he's angsty and i don't know how he would be with a child.

Nathaniel all the way. He and Anita would have cute kids and a simpler life I think. Not like if it was richards and he would cause all the drama

Nathaniel hands down. He would be patient, loving, nurturing, etc. He'd be a mother where Anita couldn't be. As it's said, Anita is Prince Charming, which means Anita would be Daddy.

I would probably say Micah or Nathaniel. They seem the most likely to act like actual fathers. And I'm sure both of them would enjoy it.

I think that if she had been truly pregnant, I think that Nathanial would have been the more likely candidate for fatherhood. From the sound of things, the two of them have been together more often. Excluding Micah cause he got a vasectomy. So no chance from him.
As for Jean-Claude? Hmm...Don't think so. He's too smart for that to happen and too practical. He knows that if she got pregnant things would be VERY hard for all of them, and not to mention the constant danger the child could be in. And he knows that her credibility with the humans would be shot even farther than they are now. Not to mention the police, and especially with the RPIT. But, I think he was holding his breath with a very tiny slim chance of hope.
And all I can say is that THANK GOD she wasn't and it was Richard's.OH MY GOD! It would have been hell if she had been and he was the daddy. * head desk * He would be all over her to stop with being a federal marshal and on retainer for RPIT. Gods in heaven what a disaster that would have been! I think she [Anita] would have aborted just to keep him from doing that to her. I really do. Richard has really become a d**k. I hope she addresses that soon. I really do or I'm going to do something drastic.
As for Jason? I'm in agreement with everyone else he isn't ready for something like that just yet. Hell he may never be ready for something like that. Parenthood is a heavy duty. But also a loving one.
But it turned out she wasn't and everyone heaved a giant sigh of relief. I have to say so did I. A child would have really complicated things even more and I don't think Anita would have been able to handle it. Hell she had a freaking mental break down before she even went to see the doctor to get it confirmed or denied. She sooo doesn't need the sound of little feet running around underfoot.
