White feet trotted along the ground, white fur gleaming in the moonlight as if to announce to all those around that 'yes, he was indeed there and passing through'. Yet the opposite was true, he was slinking through, keeping to himself as if he were a thief in the night that had to keep himself hidden lest someone see his dirty deeds and bring them into the light as horrid.

Akiiki could understand that these things had to be done and that he was the one to do them.. yet all the same he wasn't fond of having to hide where he was, despite what Okoth may or may not have told him. He never really told him enough to keep him occupied with what they were doing, which nine out of ten times was the reason that he was shoved into the back of their mind and forced to watch as his body did what it chose without his bidding. Half the time he wasn't even sure that he was comfortable with how Okoth did the things he did, he was unhappy with them and he wished that he could drag his body back under his control, but once Okoth had control he rarely let go unless he was asleep or something traumatic happened.

And Akiiki was running out of traumatic incidents now that Akamichi had left to do his own thing. It had been fangs before, fangs that had drug him back to himself by causing Okoth pain, which the lion loved but didn't like across his face. Vain until the end.

So why was he slinking when he should have been strutting his heavily muscled body and singing all the songs that were boiling over in his Bard's Heart? Simply because he was afraid now that anyone he met would give Okoth enough of a reason to bulldoze him over and take control of their body, leaving him understimulated once more and shoved to the rear, a thing he hated more than to have to eat grass.

If such a little thing as this could keep it from happening... then Akiiki would gladly glide through the nighttime until he found a way to keep Okoth at bay. He of course had no idea where to even begin looking for that, but he so figured that there was a way, maybe it simply took will, in which case he needed to strengthen his character a bit before he even considered going THAT far.

Karana'Mzaana was short tempered today, with a huff she continued along, eyes narrowed, tail flicking behind her almost in a thrashing sort of manner, why couldn't she remember it all, why? More things seemed to be blank as clear as the sky on a wind swept day, she wasn't even getting hte flicker of a memory like a cloud across bright blue.

Where had it all gone to?

Sighing and shrugging it off as soon as it had come she continued along, she wasn't sure what the time was, though she know things seemed dark, or perhaps it was her mere imagination, she couldn't seem to hold the idea of reality now that more of memories past had slipped away so suddenly.

She was lost in her own mind.

Moonlight streamed out from behind a cloud and illuminated a small strip of land, lighting upon a white body only to be followed by a gruff hiss. Akiiki was frozen with one paw off the ground and his silver eyes wide in shock and a good deal of fear. The ground around him seemed to shine with his demi-god powers, the light pouring over him shimmering around him rather than hitting him

Or maybe it was all imagination.

But the last thing that Akiiki wanted was for someone to notice him and awaken Okoth from his slumber, thereby knocking Aki to the background again and having to watch as something horrible might happen. What if he attacked someone? Killed someone? Hurt someone in ways that Akiiki's mind couldn't even bring into life?

Shuddering and trying his hardest not to move lest someone see him, the white and violet lion blew his purple mane from before his eyes, his scars seeming to dance across his muzzle and chin when he did so.

"Who's there?" Mzaa asked opening, seeing some vague and unfamiliar form not too far away, curiosity getting the better of her she ventured closer to the bright whiter pelted other, dabbled with lavender they seemed quite odd to be alone way out here but then again as she got closer, she saw it was a male.

Males were more..how do you say...not caring of dangers?

"What are you doing?" she asked simply, flicking her tail ins somewhat annoyance of this males lack of good judgment, he shouldn't be able to be noticed in the dark, there were strange things out there after all!

"Crap." Akiiki's voice was so clear and pure that it rang out over the distance like he'd yelled when in reality he'd just whispered to himself in anger. He'd so not wanted to deal with another tonight, let alone a lioness demanding things from him.

Turning so that his silver eyes encompassed her entirely, Akiiki peered at her and tried to keep himself civil forcibly. He didn't want to be mean, he wasn't a mean lion at heart. He just didn't want her to get the wrong idea.

"I'm passing through is all. What's a lioness doing walking around with no escourt on a night like this?" His sing-song voice seemed to dance from his muzzle like the words to a song, betraying his bard nature despite himself.

This female seemed like she was okay, she could blend with the night, her colors were certainly good enough for that. Except for that gray, the dark red even reminded him of....

No, now wasn't he time for family memories, now was the time to stalk forward and keep moving, he had to find some way to keep Okoth at bay forever and he wasn't sure if this female could help, but he could tell she wasn't all that willing.

Mzaa stopped and quirked a brow at the lighter pelted male, well, he wasn't too social then was he? Or perhaps she had caught him off guard, never the less, if he wanted to be alone, she would leave him be and be on her way, even though she still wasn't quite sure where exactly she was headed.

"Passing through? The same as I am, I'm just on my way, easier to travel at night sometimes, much cooler then the day," she said with a nod confirming her own thoughts and facts, surely this boy had to know that, well, male, though he was still quite young, least compared to her.

She'd caught him off guard would have been the answer Akiiki had given her, however he didn't know the question, so how in the world would he give her a good answer to it?

"With the majority of your coat I could see why." Aki said, his misty song-like voice ghosted from his scarred white muzzle like fog. "I'm fine in the day or the night, I just like to walk the night... it's safer for me and all those around me."

This was the very blunt truth, however this female wouldn't know why he'd said it. If she asked he wasn't sure what he would even tell her, but Akiiki didn't believe in lying, he'd been raised fairly well over the years and thought it rather beneath him.

Mzaa tilted her head and flicked her tail, almost wanting to take a step closer and look into the eyes of this strange male as if to see if she could see and sense what troubled him, though it was not her place to do so, not at all. "We all have our own troubles to go along with, own struggles to overcome in time," she said simply, still curious of what this male was hiding, though she had secrets too, and she knew she would rather not speak of them openly.

"Though time can usually cure all struggles, as long as you know how to keep moving on," she said with another nod.

Had he ever said his name, had she said hers?

"I'm Mzaa, by the way," she didn't feel as if he needed to know her whole name anyhow.

Time... time was one thing Akiiki wished he had at all, though as of late he'd found it to be the one thing he was truely lacking. It took all he had to refrain from shrugging his tattooed shoulder at her statements.

Of course this female didn't know what he was going through and as he hadn't told her he didn't really expect her to even begin to guess. It was her innocence to his situation that kept Okoth asleep, that kept her safe from his claws and teeth and... well other things.

"Time would never heal what haunts my days." Akiiki said in a soft voice, his silver eyes seeming to come unfocused and vacant for the briefest of moments. "Mzaa... nice name. I'm Akiiki, or Aki."

It didn't matter what she called him, as long as she didn't call him Okoth or demon. As long as she didn't discover his demi-god nature and attack him like all mortals seemed want to do to him. Or to use him for his powers in battles. He'd seen that as well.

Mzaa's ears perked forward as she tilted her head in a quizzical manner. What troubled this male so that he seemed so down on such a night? She hoped whatever plagued him might let him rest one day so that he might find happiness, and not seem as though his world was plagued by something time itself could not heal.

Now what?

"Thank you," she said with a slight bow of her head, "I do hope you find piece of mind sometime then Aki."

Mzaa then felt out of place, and almost nervous, was she safe? Or should she just pass on for now.

A sad look drifted over Akiiki's face for a moment and he decided to let the look stay there for a long moment before finally sighing and giving the female a weak smile. She wasn't nearly as gruff or bad as she made herself sound when he'd first laid his eyes upon her.

Of course the bard wasn't used to nice lions any longer, he was used to the cruel and evil ways of those that wanted to twist his mind as much as Okoth had. So to answer her he decided not to. It would ruin her night to know that he may never find such peace as she spoke of. To find it would be beautiful and a gift unlike he'd known in life, but Akiiki had lost all hope long ago as a cub of ever ridding his mind of the parasite that upset it on edge.

"You're welcome. I wish you the peace you speak of so freely. To have such a thing... must be wonderful indeed." Akiiki had needed to force himself not to choke on his own words as he'd spoken them.

Karana'Mzaana watched him in silence for a moment, his eyes were so bright, almost as if they glowed, almost as if he seemed blind, though his eyes did seem truly alive, so at least he could see the world, though the world had its beauty, and its faults..sometimes she wished she was blind to it all. Flicking her tail she watched him, then took a step, perhaps she had better go, the time was drawling on, she had to keep moving, for some reason she felt as if she might be getting close to her end destination.

"I do wish you the best," she said again, nodding her head in confirming her statement. With that t=she turned, began to walk off, she stopped once or twice to look back, see his form, and then she went on again.

Hopefully she'd find peace and a home one day, and she wished to same for him as well.

Inclining his purple maned head towards her, Akiiki stood where he was, stock still as she moved away from him and simply walked off. He couldn't blame her, what else would anyone do with a male that wasn't in the mood to talk despite his bard temperment?

The lion that loved to sing was silenced by the evil of the world. Even a demi-god couldn't prevent it from happening to him, so what was there to say of a normal lion or lioness?

Silver eyes watched as the female walked slowly away, they didn't blink, they didn't close, simply watched and glowed in the moonlight above them. He was silent as a the graveyard not so far off behind him.

Silent.

"You'll find what you're looking for.... I know it. And you'll be happier than any lioness ever has been." Akiiki's words weren't whispered, but they weren't screamed. The gentle bell-like voice floated from his muzzle onto the breeze and he wasn't sure if she'd hear it or not, but at least he'd said it.

Turning his white body once more to the darkness, the adolescent faced his future with a grim frown. The lioness tredding behind him would find her happiness, but so far all that Akiiki saw for himself was a life of turmoil and pain.

Lifting a foot he slowly began to walk forward again... hoping that sometime or somewhere in the distance and future, that there would be someone that could rid him of Okoth's vice-like grip forever.
