Ewansiha was just about done searching the Pridelands. The scouts cub hadn't seen Jina here. Nor had that 'princess' ever seen anyone who fit her description in the lands. Even Chipo, who was looking for his mate, hadn't got back to Ewan about seeing his sister anywhere in the lush grasslands or around Priderock. Admittedly, Ewan hadn't spotted the white pride-female for Chipo either but these were big lands...
Still. Two more days. That was all he'd spend here until he tried somewhere else. Maybe take a couple of days off to visit his lovely Asherah in the Kusini lands. She made him so happy.

Jina lie under a tree, cooling off in the small source of shade. She sighed, and closed her eyes. she let her tongue lull out of her mouth slightly as she panted. She was glad that she was able to find the tree. The summer heat was getting to her. It didn't help that she had a dark coat either.
She had spent years on this journey. She was beginning to have doubts that she would find her. Her father was so sure that she'd be able to find her mother with her hunting skills, but how she wasn't so sure.
She shook her head to get the idea out. There was no way she'd let her father, or any other part of her family down. She knew they were out there somewhere, and she was determined to find them.
"Maybe a few more minutes..." She said as she rested her head on her paws and closed her eyes, thinking of only the cool shade, and her mother's face.

If Asherah could come back from the dead and he could find Jina...Ewan knew he had issues because half the females in his family had been lost, and had nicknamed it in his head 'the Saburi syndrome'. He was already vaguely worried that Asherah - and Nyunya, he had to see her soon too! - wouldn't be there when he went back.
But if he could find them, it'd be wonderful. Then all he had to was make sure his mother was alright and meet his new 'father' figure. Then find his beloved Dumu. Then find Nogea. All with Asherah visits inbetween and making sure his new half siblings and he bonded. And Jina too and...Okay so it wasn't going to be a magic solve all if he found Jina but it'd be a start!
Ewan shook his head slightly and approched the next creature he could find. A dark lioness under a tree. He didn't get very close just in case she wasn't friendly or if she was a rare grumpy Pridelander who'd chase him off. So he didn't register her markings.
"Hello?" He had to call, being three or four lion lengths away. "Excuse me miss, but I was wondering if you knew a black lioness called Jinamizi had passed through these lands? Or a red female called Rahima. Please."

Her pink ears perked up and swerved over to the lion that hesitantly approached her. When he mentioned both her and her mother's names, her heart skipped a beat. She quickly stood, loosing her balance a little as the feeling fled from her legs.
"I'm Jinamiz" She said. She was surprised that she could say anything with her mouth being as dry as it was. Maybe this was it. Maybe her mother was looking for her too and sent this lion to help look for her.
Or maybe, it was the exact opposite, and she had passed like her father and this lion was going to send her the bad news. No. She knew that her mother was still alive, she wouldn't let any horrible thoughts leak into her mind. She had to stay positive.

Ewan almost let his mouth fall open in shock but caught it just in time. Slowly a happy and almost unbelieving grin grew - after he been looking for a moon and a half he would have thought it was too easy to find Jina in such a way. Just laying under a tree, eh?
"Jinimizi, Rahima and Salaiman's child?" He switched on a little of the old Ewan charm, the friendly kind and bowed his head as Rahima always did in greeting. He wanted to be friends with his sister, a lot.
"I'm her son, your half brother - she called me Ewansiha....I...I have a long story to tell you Jina. You wouldn't believe how good it is to find you at last. We've all been looking."

Jina stood in disbelief at her brother. She couldn't believe it. She had a brother. She never knew what it was like to have any kind of sibling. Now, she's face to face with one.
"You...you've been looking for me too?" She asked, her voice started to fail her. She walked over and bowed her head before she ran close and placed her head over his shoulder. "I can't believe this is actually happening. I can be part of a family again."

Again, he was surprised, as she was so open to the idea and she was so friendly. Ewan laid head against her and returned the hug. Jinamizi. One of the Huruma cubs. Ewan could hardly believe it!
"We never should have lost you. You really want to come be a part of the family? I've never had a sister...always wanted one..."

She looked back up to him, a large smile on her face. "I've wanted to be apart of a family since my father passed." She said as she nuzzled back into his fur. "I've never had a brother either." she smiled.
This was it. She was finally going to see her family again. And in the process, she found a brother she never knew.

Ewan drew back with a purr. Mission completed! Now they could bond and be family and his plans could go ahead and he'd never loose anyone again.
"Shall I tell you what mother's told me, sister? About why she lost you and your father...or would you rather I find her and bring her back here. Don't want to tae you away from these lands if they are your home."

"I wouldn't mind if you told me." She smiled as she sat back to listen to the story.
She wouldn't let him know that she couldn't move her paws, and she didn't want him out of her sight either. She had found someone with the same blood, she wouldn't let him go that easily.

"Well, a few moons ago, she and her mate realised when sharing their pasts that Rahima had a big blank patch in her memories, and trying to remember gave her headaches. So she got the Goddess of Purity to restore what she could, and mother remembered you.'
"We still don't know who or what cursed her and caused mother to loose her memories like that. She was aghast to learn she'd abandoned you, and though she's cub heavy, set out to find you."

She couldn't believe it. Her mother...forgot about her and her father? She suddenly felt like she was alone. She figured death would have been a better way out.
"She forgot?" Her crimson eyes fixed on Ewan, and soon glazed over in thought, and a single tear trailed down her face, leaving a dark line in her fur.

Oh no! How to cheer her up...err...
"She couldn't help it. I know mother, she'd never have chosen to forget you...she loved you, must have done." Ewan sighed, ears flicking back for a moment. Then he 'hugged' his sister again.
"If I ever get my paws on whoever mucked around with ma's memories..." He shook his head. Who'd do such a thing? make someone forget their loved ones?

She smiled lightly, "Thanks Ewan..." His reashuring comment gave her a new hope.
How could she have doubted her mother? She knew what she was like. She treated everything with love. Why would she have treated her any different. She buried her face into Ewan's shoulder. She now knew that he'd always be there if she needed a shoulder to cry on.

"We think she must have angered some god or shaman." He hushed for a few minutes, just supporting his new found sister.
Ewan had always wanted a sister - an though she was still a stranger, he looked forward to getting to know her. To seeing their mother with a daughter again, because he knew he'd never got over loosing the daughter she could remember and to find out she'd abandoned a second...well, knowing Jina would be good for them all. Jina included he hoped.
