I know I've been doing this topic a lot, but I'd really like to see a game in the same genre as Halo 3 come out that blows it out of the water.

So far, Haze is on top of my list. I would say Killzone 2, but there hasn't been much information divulged on it. I choose Haze because I like the plotline better, plus there are many different aspects added to Haze that really make it sound interesting to play and in my opinion rise it above Halo's gameplay.

Haze's gameplay changes depending if you're fighting for Mantel Corps or The Promise Hand. In the beginning of the game you fight for Mantel, in which you get to utilize Nectar to make yourself more powerful. You can inject Nectar into your bloodstream to enter a state similar to Samus' Hyper-mode, in which your strength, speed, precision, everything becomes greatly enhanced, and your super-soldier abilities come to fruitition. However, if you overdose the Nectar you become a great danger to your team. The screen goes entirely blurry, meaning you can't tell friend from foe. Also, if the crosshair goes over an enemy, it will automatically fire even if you don't pull the trigger.

Eventually, through a series of events you discover Nectar has mind-bending abilities, drastically altering your perception of reality, and causing you to become extremely arrogant. Eventually you cross over to the Promise Hand, which are a group of rebels that are in heated war with Mantel Corps. This is where the gameplay drastically changes. Now that you're not using Nectar, you lose your previous abilities and now new powerful abilities are availiable to you as a human. For example, you now have access to a new "Play Dead" mode. Right before you die you lie motionless on the ground, regaining health. Because of the mind-bending properties of Nectar, they can't tell you're not dead and go on their way. So as they walk away and you're feeling better, you get up and put a cap in their back. Another cool thing is exploiting their arrogance. The Nectar causes them to think you're extremely weak, and this gives you the ability to catch them off-guard by punching them in their face, taking their gun and shooting them. Last, you can throw daggers.

Btw, I'll update the poll if a lot of answers come up and I haven't put them in.

no doubt the halo 3 is gonna be good
but really its only to hold ppl over till smash come out

Apparently now Haze is a PS3 exclusive as well so thats another title that wii/360 fans will forget to add to their exclusives lists.

Funny thing is you could never prove this.
Not that I'm loosing any sleep over Haze or well any of those titles.

It is. Also, it's not a franchise, nor does it have any "brand power" to speak of. Also, I am (for now) far more interested in Haze than I am in Halo, Call of Duty, or even Killzone. Also, Metroid Prime 3 is a completely different beast than any of these games. It's not really even an FPS, so I don't know why anyone would even bring it up.

Also, Warhawk has already beaten the Halo franchise in overall fun factor and game quality. Not by a whole lot, mind you, but I definitely have more fun with Warhawk than I ever had with Halo.
