Do you have a favorite place that you like to perform?
A stage, your house, ect?

Performing at home just doesn't feel as much like performing as I'd like it to, though it is fun to do. smile I personally love performing for small audiences at carnivals or hafla's. They're always really encouraging, and it's easy to make eye contact with more of them that way. biggrin
The stage is nice, but I don't like how little you can interact with the audience when you can't see them. It feels like it puts a little wall between you and them, and I like to include our audience.
The last festival I performed at, we were on the same level as our audience, and when all six of us started free form dancing to the last song, we brought up some people from the audience to dance with us and they had a blast. That's what it's about for me: Making sure the audience has as much fun as I am. biggrin

I'd love to go to this park and practice. I'm trying to see if pin can meet me and teach me some, but she's very hard to get a hold of. but alls good. the only reason this park is because it has feet friendly grass and i love it dearly. lol

i love doing it for friends and family. where ever we can just sit and have a good time. I've danced for friend's friends and so on. As long as I'm having an awesome time, I'll dance.

My absolute favourite place to perform would have to be... at a street festival, where you can interact with the crowd, have them come up with you and teach them a few things.
Even if you have to dance on a SUPER hot tarp... >.<'

I prefer to perform in my house. I am not yet comfortable enough to perform in public. Maybe in a few months... or a year stare

I'm part of the meetup for Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando and Palm Beach. We have monthly meetings and there is almost always a mini hafla at some of the community centers where students get a chance to dance for a small audience.
Check to see if there is a bellydance meetup near where you live! it's so great to keep in touch with the local bellydance community in addition to hearing about some great classes.
no, i have yet to perform. i don't get to practice much with chasing after the twins. gonk

I guess it would have to be somewhere where one can interact with the audience. A small audience preferably.

I'm actually very performance shy, so I don't usually like to perform on stage or in front of people. but I do bellydance for charity events. I feel like i'm getting more out of it and its for a good cause so I'm not so shy ^_^

I perform for my family at home mostly. But i love to perform at open mic night at school.

There's a beach close to where I live. A spit. It's so, so beautiful. I performed there recently (on Canada day, which is July 1st). It was a lot of fun, and almost everyone in the community is really warm and kind. I really had a lovely time.
I've performed for friends, and at Haflas. It's always fun, especially when they dance too.
I can't really pick a favourite place, though. There are different things that are lovely about every place and situation. I don't really feel isolated from the audience. They enjoy it, and so do I. As long as everyone's having fun it's all good.
I really would like to perform more, though, for an audience. It's not common enough here. It's a small place, so there aren't performances often.

I think the real question for me is where DONT I love to perform? lol
I think my absolute favorite isnt a where but a who.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE dancing for Ishtar. No matter where they're playing, it's always an amazing time dancing to them live, and the crowd is always great.
