Mruka gave out a long yawn as he stretched out his socked paws. He didn't remember much of anything... a warm body to snuggle against, a gentle voice assuring him that everything would be alright, and darkness. He knew his name, because the gentle voice said it often, but other than that he was still accommodating himself to this new world he had entered. It was large, and bright, and he had to admit that it scared him a bit.
Eyebrows rose as he quickly noticed a tan looking creature lying nearby. What was that thing? Was it something like him? Did the gentle voice take care of it too?
Curious, the small cub made his way over to where his sister lay, his padded feet warm against the sun-soaked ground, his white tipped tail held high. He stood over the other creature, staring down at her. What should he do?

 Angaa was soaking herself in the sun, since she had woken up feeling a bit chilled. Her mind was at ease, and she felt content in being completely lazy. She was sort of in a half-sleep, where she was still listening to the breeze and birds around her, but her eyes were closed, and made it as if she was hiding from the world. She had woken up too early anyhow, and she thought her brother was still fast asleep. He had been so odd lately, and she wondered if he understood their situation at all.
But to her surprise, she felt something chilly, and it was rather uncomfortable! At first she thought it might have been a big cloud that was covering the sky, but after a few moments, she realized the sun hadn't come back! Was it going to rain?
Opening her eyes finally and feeling a bit frantic, the bright tan cub looked up to see a figure blocking her sunlight. "What are ya doing!" She rolled onto her paws and stood up slowly, allowing her body to stretch out comfortably. "You were blocking my sun, Mruka!"

"How... how do you know my name?" he asked, taking a step backwards as the female cub rose from where she had laid. He felt stupid for asking, since apparently she knew who he was, so shouldn't he know her?
Glancing at her colors and then back down to his own chest and paws, he saw a striking resemblance between the two of them. That had to mean something, didn't it?
He plopped his bottom half down onto the ground and continued to stare at the female, his eyes watching her warily as his tail curled up around his side.

Angaa knew that her brother had been weird lately, especially after resting for a long night. She wondered why his memory was so faded all the time, and if he was repressing any thoughts of the reality they were in. "UHH, I'm your sister, Angaa." With a loud grunt, she decided to wait and see what he was doing, maybe he was just playing a game? They were children afterall, but by her brothers tone, she guessed that he wasn't joking.
"Are you alright, brother? Why do you ask me these things randomly?" she walked up to him and put her head on his, and tried to see if he had a temperature. Was he sick or something? Feeling a normal heat-level, she brought her head off his and shook her head, not knowing what was wrong with him. "You are so confusing!"

Blue eyes blinked, and then slowly the memories were coming back to him. The gentle voice, Mother, and Angaa, his.. sister? It was so confusing, trying to put everything in order... all these things to learn in such little time!
"Oh." he finally responded, not knowing what else to say, "That's right. Sister. So you and me... we're family."
It had all happened in quite a rush, being told who was who, what was what. It seemed like it was only yesterday that he had found himself in this new world, away from the warm confines of his Mother. There was so much to get used to now, would he be able to learn it all?
His mind snapped back into reality, and he looked towards his sibling. Yes, if Angaa could do it, then Mruka could do it as well!
"That's right," he suddenly announced, his tone a bit more huffy as he stood up on all four paws, "We are family. I knew that. I was only... I was only testing you! Yeah, that's right!"

Angaa held a laugh that she was going to emit, and instead all she did was smile at her brother warmly. She tended to assume that he was younger then her, so she liked to take care of him as if she was more knowledgeable, and older. It kept her at peace, knowing that she could worry about him, and help him when needed. It was a part of her personality, and since their mother was hardly around, she figured it would be best to always remain calm for the both of them.
"Yes, we are family, and we must stay strong you know. If we stay strong together, then we will be unstoppable!"
She knew that one day her brother would grow, even bigger then her! He would surely become someone who protects others, and she giggled while thinking about it to herself. "Let's go wander around, I am sick of this area." It had seemed that they had fallen asleep on a warm rock, and Angaa decided they needed a change of sceneary. Maybe the long grass below them would be more fun.

"Unstoppable from what?" he asked, scrunching up his nose. What would try to stop them to begin with? He nodded his head agreeably to the idea of walking about; his legs really needed some more stretching!
He wondered where their Mother had gone off to, but he was sure that either Angaa would explain or they'd find her soon enough. Being around someone else in this big world made it less scary, and Mruka felt braver already!
Laughing, he wiggled his rear high in the air, tail waving, and he crouched into a pouncing mode before leaping off the rock and into the tall grass beneath. He was determined he'd stay brave; he'd be brave for all of them!

Maybe she was a worrywart, but she knew there were others out in the world that were dangerous. It was a known fact, that danger was always an option when going through life. Even so, she decided to brush his question off and just go out an play. "Don't worry about it!" She certainly didn't want to dwell into a complicated discussion!
She followed his pounce off of the rock, and stopped herself suddenly to see a chirping thing in front of her. It was tiny too, and from her land in the grass, it hopped away from where she had landed and continued making the strange noise. "Woa Mruka, look at this!" Apparently she had discovered something crazy!
"I wish we could make that noise, its so pretty and weird!" she giggled to herself, and put her paw out in wonderment. The tiny thing didn't seem too happy with her coming closer.

The little brown head turned to see what had caught his sister's fascination. "What is it?" he asked, making his way back to where she stood. His head tilted, a curious expression on his face. It didn't look like either his sister or himself, so what creature could this be? It was far tinier than either of the small cubs, and instead of warm fur it had weird looking leaf-like things jutting out from its body. Its mouth certainly looked pointy enough, and he made a mental note to keep his paws and face away from the sharp end.
"Hey! What are you!?" he called out to the chirping thing, watching his sister paw at it. While Angaa found the little sounds to be cute, they certainly didn't sound cute to his ears! In fact, they were hurting them, and if it didn't stop soon, he'd chirp BACK at that little thing, and see if it liked THAT!

Angaa laughed at her brother happily, and adjusted her position so that she was stable again. "Oh my, I don't think he speaks our language! I think that chirping is all he.. does?" The female was frustrated, she had discovered something new and she had no idea to what it was! She needed to figure it out, and its noise was starting to bother her after awhile as well.
She decided to do something silly, and she shuffled her feet before pouncing on the thing. At first she thought she had landed on it, but her eyes saw something landing back on the ground. "Wow, did that just jump?" Angaa decided to jump again, and she was shocked to see the creature had such strong legs. "Wow, that is pretty impressive!"
She wished that she could jump like that, and she bounced on her paws in hopes of achieving such heights one day.

Mruka quickly scampered to stand behind his sister. "That thing... it didn't jump!" He was quick to disagree, "It used those leafy things on its paws to help it move!"
He hadn't the faintest idea of what it was, but the idea that it could go so high using only its paws gave Mruka an idea.
"I bet," said the little cub, "If we started up high enough, we could jump really really high if we move our paws like that too!"
Without waiting for his sister's comment, the brown cub climbed back up onto the rock and peered down at to where she stood. "Angaa, are you gonna try too?"

Angaa hadn't even noticed that her brother had climbed on the rock again, and when she heard his voice, she left her stare on the green creature and looked around the area to place the voice with his face. She was spaced out for awhile, and missed some of what he even said!
She blinked while looking up towards her brother, and felt a bit of nervousness slip into her mind. "Hey now, that's pretty high up. I think you should be careful.."
The last thing she wanted him to do was injury himself!
"Maybe you should come down Mruka.. you don't even know what your doing. There are plenty of more ways to practice jumping.." she hoped her explanation was good enough to make him listen, and she sighed while watching him with an anxiety in her eyes.

Mruka shook his head, feeling bold. If that tiny thing could do it, why couldn't he?
"No Angaa!" he argued, "I want to jump really high like that thing too!"
White paws clung to the edge of the rock and he looked over at his sister. Could he really do it? Could he really jump like that?
"Well.." he started, taking a deep breath, "Here I go!"
And with that, he leapt off and came tumbling down into the tall grass.

It was a clumsy jump, and Angaa ran over to where her brother had tumbled. It looked like he was going to be ok, but she shook her head angerly. "That was stupid! You could have really hurt yourself." With an exaggerated groan, she moved a few steps away from Mruka and watched the landscape carefully. It was so quiet, and there was nothing around them. A few birds flew in the distance, but besides that she and Mruka were alone.
It felt strange, and she sat thinking for a moment before turning back to her brother.
"Maybe we should try to travel somewhere new, to see if we can find more people. Who knows what is out in the distance, but I think if we stay here we may never find anybody." With a semi-serious expression, she nodded to him and wondered what he thought on the issue. She felt bad for shifting into a serious question, but they needed to figure out what they were doing before anything else.
