As the sun beat down on the little land of Feli, throwing fingers of brilliant light over the greenery of late-summer, a lone little orange-toned male sat at the edge of the lake. With his brow furrowed into a deep 'V', he was busily scratching figures and lines in the half-mud of the lake shore. Every few moments, he would shake his head and erase part of his equation with the sweep of a paw. His mouth muttered numbers and other inaudible ramblings as he worked so fervently, trying to figure out his latest study.
Having come home from his studies abroad, he had found his family lying in ruins at the paws of his sister. His need to understand the inner workings of the human minds and the way it connected to its surrounding emotionally became a very prominent and important task. However, he was no closer to his answer now than he was the day he left his studies abroad. There must be some connection, some link, some answer.. somewhere.

tbiris Rabia felt like he was dying in the heat. The house felt like molten metal pouring over him, even as he tried to leave it. The heat seeped into his very bones, and then began to receed as he left the house. he breathed a sigh of relief from the heated house. He shook himself to try and get cooler air into his pelt, before he bolted towards the lake.
Nothing else would be able to cool him down quite like the lake. So he ran, ignorant of the other Feli that was muttering and drawing in the mud, managing to smudge several of the markings as he dove into the cool water.

Lilly wasn't sure what she was doing she'd been wandering aimlessly for the last several months but she was tired of being alone and it was by pure luck that she heard a splash out by the pond. She quickly raced behind the house to find a feli in the water and another sitting in the mud. She slowly walked up to the one on the bank. "Hello."

It took a few long moments for Nova to actually register that something had smudged a particularly important part of his equation, almost believing in his absent-mindedness that it had done it of it's own self accord. Realizing, however, that this would have gone against all laws of nature and physics. Blinking his dual-toned eyes in an attempt to clear them, he glanced out towards the lake with a rather confused glimmer lingering in both shades.
"That was rather important, you know," he said calmly, though anger never entered his voice. A Feli whose heart lay entirely in numbers and equations, he had little room to subject himself to the frequencies of natural emotions. He kept them hidden properly at most times, so much that they often never really registered with him at all. It took quite an occasion to pull something other than his typical calmness out of him.
As he heard the sudden voice next to his ear, he glanced in the direction of the female he had not heard approach. His intensity in his work was always coupled with a dulling of the senses, at least while he was working hard on something. "Hello there," he said politely, unsure as to why someone would bother him while he was trying to work out the latest crisis to plague the Feli lands.

tbiris Rabia blinked the water out of his eyes as he stared at the two Feli at the shore. He swam over to the male and looked at the ground, his ears flattened slightly even though he heard no real emotion in the other Feli's voice. How odd, he would have thought that he might get mad if it was that important. "Sorry." He grimaced as he got out of the lake, keeping an eye on the squiggles and taking more care to avoid them. "I didn't see you... what is this?" he asked, looking over what looked like doodles to him.
He looked back up at the female and smiled slightly. "Hello to you too." He tilted his head slightly to one side as he thought whether he should introduce himself or not. He finally decided that he should. "I'm Rabia by the way."

Lilly tilted her head to the side as she studied the markings on the ground, but as Rabia introduced himself she looked up. "I'm Lilly." Turning back to the red feli drawing on the ground. "I'm sorry if I disturbed you." She absentmindedly scratched at her side before sitting down. She too was curious as to what red feli was doing.
