I say #1 they look better built. Overcoming the bulk should be present in your training.

Soul Fighters Leg Kicks And the 2nd come in red trim pirate Oh, great reason Soul rolleyes I love how your unpretentious lack of vanity shows in everything you write. Although I would go for the second option, myself. A little bit of padding is usually enough for most blows. And bulky padding always shifts around and falls off.

I'm with most other people. First offer better protection but are too padded

doesnt it depend on what you are going to be doing in them? So if you're mostly going to be doing grappling, then the grappling ones are going to be more beneficial?

First of all - LOL @ people assuming I train grappling because I'm a martial arts athlete. But you do have a point. I'm gonna start training grappling next summer. I guess getting those shinpads in the future would be a good call.

Heeey~ I know I've never posted here before but I might as well get into it right? I do Choy Li Fut Kung-fu.
I'd say number one. The bulk shouldn't be too bad and Grappling offers little to no protection against standing kicks. If your looking for something to just get comfortable with I'd say number two but in the long run I think number one would deffinatly be the right choice. They look better put together in my opinion.
