Welcome! "Because Events End. Pride Doesn't."
Welcome all, to the guild that celebrates our common devotion to the city of Durem!!! Dear Duremites, It is with slight nervousness I step forward to greet you. I am daunted, awed, by all I have seen since the contest began. I first came on Gaia end of January this year (2007) and as such had not had a chance to participate in a team event before. However, they day the announcement was sent out describing the teams, I knew I had to pick Durem. What can I say, it outshone the rest. The day the festivities began, I was on at noon by mere chance. And I took the opportunity to join Durem in the rare few minutes when the event page was up but the forums still weren't. Know, that it was not our early and continuing lead that drew me to this team. As the event progressed, I found myself becoming more and more deeply a member of Durem. I doubt any member of Durem during these few days could ever consider themselves as member of any other team in the future. The teamwork, spirit, and strength I have seen you Duremites express has infected me, and has drawn us through our trials thus far. I am shocked; I am impressed. We have done far better than anyone could have predicted for us. In a moment of high-blown excitement on a thread I frequented, someone suggested a guild be formed. Now I stand here, writing to you all, in a guild that we have built by our own two hands. I have heard the criticisms against us. People think we are trying to rule Durem - that is not true. We are, as we put it, a political party. We are a government in and of ourself, but we only are such to those who have consented to and approve of being a part of such a body. The other criticism I have heard of our guild is that it is simply the whim of a moment, and that it will not last past the end of the competition. True, we were founded on a whim, but I believe our ideals can carry us much farther than many expect. This competition has made me feel part of a true team - almost to the point of a very large and extended family. It is a feeling I embrace, and do not wish to relinquish. That is the true purpose of this guild. We never hated the others - this is not here to bash them. We are currently oriented towards the current competition, but I believe our gears will change after the competition is over. Not towards a finite ending, but towards an infinite realm of friendship adapting to the current issues and events on Gaia. This guild is simply a celebration of friendship. Of oneness. A monument to our spirit and our hearts. And I know it will endure. With all my heart, I welcome you, friends and fellow Duremites, to our haven and home. Welcome to the Durem Guild. Rules
There aren't many, so read them and follow them.
1. NO FLAMING OTHER TEAMS. Please, I cannot stress this enough. All it does is make us look worse, promote hate, and prove that you are a total noob. NO ONE in this guild will tolerate flaming. I encourage everyone to report flaming to a moderator at once (pm one of us). As this is one of the most serious offenses in this guild, YOU WILL BE BANNED. No questions, no mercy. 2. Follow the T.O.S. Keep it PG-13. Seriously, all we ask. 3. Try to be literate. Please, make the effort. Many members of this guild hold literacy in very high regard, as we are home to legions of poets, writers, and people who just don't like l33t. The occasional chatspeak is okay, as well as common chatspeak abbreviations. However, don't overuse it. Real words, real spellings, please. 4. Do not claim anyone else's work as your own. This is also an offense punishable by banning. So just don't. We want to protect the rights of our artists and their work. 5. DO NOT FLAME OTHER GUILD MEMBERS 6. Woobaba reserves the right to turn you into a sheep for little to no reason. ninja
Breaking the rules have consequences. Offenders will be blacklisted from all cabinets. Extreme offenders will be banned from the guild. But punishments vary, based on the mood of the moderator and how creative he/she can be with your punishment.

I guess that I'll step forward and tell why I hopped on the bandwagon.
Intro:
I am D.J. I have no last name, nor a true first name. I don't need it.
21 years of age and a fighter 'to the T'.
Reasoning and battlecry:
As the one before me, I am fairly new and had no idea whatsoever about this. However, I remember that when the announcement was made and the teams were split up, my first word was 'Durem'.
No, I don't hate the other teams.
Nor do I feel the need to bash them.
I just can care less about them, as long as my team comes out on top. I will do whatever I can to make sure it happens. Even if I have to cast myself aside for my fellow man or woman.
I am a soldier.
I am a warrior.
I am a Duremite.

My turn! Name's Wulf_Gurl but call me Wulfy. The reason I picked Durem is because in the year or so I've been on gaia I've always thought Durem was awesome. I love the people here and it's just fun. Bashing and me don't mix...in other words I don't. If someone does start bashing I try to stop them and if it doesn't work I leave em alone. That's about it for me. though.

Hey guys, I'm Avalbane, and a proud member of Durem.
I'm not sure what finally drove me to join team Durem, but whatever it was, my instincts were right. While the other towns are wonderful in their own rights, Durem just has that extra edge to make it the best!

I joined Durem because Black and Red are my fav colors and I wanted the T-Shirt.I guess that was a good thing cuz now it seems like I'm on the winning team

My online name is Chu, fourteen years old, and loves Durem.
I was so pissed that the event would end so soon, and rejoiced at the sight of this thread. Though I haven't participated in a lot of events, this has been the best one I've participated so far.
I'm so thankful that someone had thought about setting up a guild dedicated to Durem, I hope to see more Duremites here to befriend because not all Duremites are bashers.
