It Resonates Evil...
Legends are funny things. They tell of grand, unheard-of things that rarely fail to boggle the mind. They can grow with each telling until facts are distorted, or even lost. Eventually, they can become something else entirely, leaving the truth behind to be forgotten. The funniest thing about them, though, is that sometimes… they’re true.
The ring. Everyone’s heard of it, though few can say they’ve seen it. Hell, it’s a possibility that nobody’s seen it for hundreds of years. Everyone knows it exists, though. Oh, that’s a certainty. The thing was enchanted with some sort of unholy aura that rained chaos and destruction upon the life of any who dared wear it. It decimated almost every single one of its owners, leaving them either broken or dead.
Yes, owners. Plural. Why would there be more than the first, you might ask?
Well, in addition to attempting complete destruction of its wearer, it is said that the ring allowed the person possessing it to open the Box of Fate. Again, this is where legends begin to distort the truth. Some claim that inside the box are the threads of fate, which are bound to the souls of every single living being in this world. Others say it simply holds power – enough to become a god. There are many other explanations for its contents, each more extraordinary than the last. Nobody knows which is true.
See, every time someone manages to overcome the curse of the ring and tries to open the box, they’re destroyed by it. Whether it’s some kind of enchantment or our bodies being incapable of that much power isn’t really sure. There’s nobody to ask. Those that are taken by the box are never seen again. This time, there isn’t even some loony on the corner left as a testament of what happened. They simply vanish, and the ring turns up somewhere else a few days, months, or even years later.
Eventually, those that knew enough of the box decided that it was simply too much for us mortals to deal with. It wasn’t to be fooled with by beings with such … limits. They accepted the fact that they were incapable of handling the thing and made it disappear. It and the ring were separated and hidden, with numerous security measures being put in place to make sure nobody ever tampered with it again.
For years, nobody heard anything new about the two cursed objects. With time, rumors started and festered within the populous of our world. Rumors quickly turned either to absurdities or legends. There came a time when none knew much for sure any more. They thought they did, yes, but what they knew as the truth was the product of many, many variations of a story being repeated until the roots of it were lost. Most stopped worrying about it, and it faded to the back of everyone’s memory.
Recently, though, the ring and box were brought back onto the minds and lips of each and every person in the lands. A chaos angel, thought to be dead, had somehow found and stolen the ring, and it was said she was after the box as well. After a few weeks, more rumors popped up. It was quickly becoming accepted as a fact that she was chained to a stone in the winter village of Starkar. Most simply nodded and went about their lives, but some have decided to journey to the village to see for themselves.
The ring itself was nowhere to be found, and was forgotten almost immediately…

Magic: None really, but the necklace she wears is like an Anti-curse amulet. History: Divi was once known as 'The Devouring Soul'. When she first got her sword, 'The Eye of Sin', she couldn't stop killing. She noticed it was the curse forcing her when she killed two of her three brothers. She quickly buried the sword, but noticed her strength rapidly decreased. Found by a group of bandits who wanted revenge, many thought she was killed. He takes his position in the family to heart, but his intentions are only as clear as murky water.

"Midday already?"
Divi looked up to the overcast sky, snow falling lightly to the ground. She sighed, her breath easily seen on such a cold day. Many people in the village avoided the large stone that the Chaos Angel was chained to, fearing that she might have some hidden magic that they didn't know of. They were wrong, Divi really had no magical powers. Only her amulet, that kept her curse at bay, had any resemblance in the magical aura. However, none of that mattered.
"In two days..." Divi whispered, "Then they say they'll 'sacrifice' me. Ha! I'd love to see them try."
She looked at her hands. Her wrists chained to the stone, as well as her ankles and neck. For an odd reason, she couldn't remember why she was chained to the rock in the first place, or how she had gotten here for that matter. But many of the villagers accused her of taking some ring. Divi had denied ever having the powerful, yet nameless ring in her possession, but was ignored. After a few days, she decided that arguing wasn't going to get her out of this fix, and just stopped talking all together.

"Good afternoon, Lady Silversnow."
"Welcome Mi' Lady."
"Pleasure to see you again, Lady Fallon." People greeted her as Fallon walked by them. She walked purposefully, her head held high, to the center of town. She ignored the people bowing to her in greeting as she walked and kept her eyes focused straight ahead. Soon, she could see the Cursed Angel and the rock she was chained too. Without fear, she walked right up to Divi.
"It seems you only have two more days." Fallon said, her voice clear and crisp like the cold air around them.
"I will ask you once more. Where is the ring?" Her deep blue eyes fixed on Divi's face.

Divi closed her eyes, a small smile forming on her face.
"I don't know what you mean." She said, "As I have told you and many before, I did not steal the ring you are looking for. Maybe you should try asking those bandits that live around here." She opened her eyes, though her gaze was fixed on the sky.

Bella walked over to Divi and fallon she said in a quiet voice.
"Fallon if notice she doesn't not know your time would be better spent finding it then interagating innocent's well innocents of this crime." Several people on the street curtsied deeply to her she smiled and nodded her head her hand rested on it customary spot on the hilt of her sword her fan was tied onto her belt.

"I do not need your smug comments, Bella." Fallon said, lifting her head defiantly.
"I can assure you I am searching diligantly.But, the rumors I've heard said the ring was stolen by a Chaos Angel. Then we just so happen to find one. What more am I supposed to think?" Fallon ran a hand through her hair.
"At any rate, I can only draw two conclusions..." She turned back to Divi.
"Either I can assume you know where the ring is and are just lying to me, or I can assume you do not know of the ring's location. Either way, I have no more leads than when I first began." Her blue eyes turned cold, but before she could say anything a group of soldiers walked up and saluted her.
"Lady Silversnow," The front soldier said, bowing deeply.
"Captain Izack," Fallon replied, her eyes still fixed on Divi. "Well?"
"My Lady, we scoured the entire countryside. There's no one around." He said.
"Any clues to go on?" Fallon turned to the Captain now. "Footprints? Campfires? Anything?"
"The only footprints we found were on the main road in and out of the village." Izack replied.
Fallon sighed.
"I understand. Report to my Father now. I beleive he has an assignment for you." She said.
"Of course, My lady." Izack replied and the soldiers marched off.
"I'll return tomorrow." Fallon said to Divi. "It will be your last chance to tell me anything that you know."
She then turned to Bella.
"Send my regards to your family." She said formily and walked off.
