  This is a role-play between Ajani and Anya. Two lions that seemed to have drifted apart, but not for long. They're giving another chance at love and they're giving it their all!

Her steps light, the ligress had just left the coolness of the den out toward the evening lands. She was thirsty, and seeing that her children were grown, she could have a little time to herself. As she stepped to the water's edge, her memory jogged of a year ago where she met her mate. They were young and deeply in love, but things just seemed to change over time. The two lovers begun drifting apart...
Lowering her muzzle to the cool waters, she took a few slow sips to calm herself. She still loved Ajani...at least thats what she told herself every day. Now it seemed too much of a blur and too much of a headache. Did she really love him? If so, why doesn't she feel the same spark she did like she once used to? Everything confused her now. Looking into the waters, she gave a deep sigh, closing her eyes. What was so different about them now? Would they ever be the same?

The light purple orbs slowly shifted, as the male's gaze trailed after the amethyst form of his mate. He couldn't help but to smile dimly. To him, Anya, was the most gorgeous lioness around, no other lioness could, in any way, rival this lioness's beauty.
He loved her... so much. And yet.. The love, it just, didn't feel the same. Did it have something to do with the fact that the two had a family now? That they've been together for a year now? Not exactly -young- lovers anymore? What was it?
Ajani didn't care exactly what it was... all he cared about, was bringing back that feeling, the love.
A dim smile crept onto his maw, as his gaze slowly glanced off to the den. Iniko rested there, and Kosai, most likely wasn't at all far from the den.
Slowly, the king of Amethyst Waters rose to his paws, slowly, calmly making his way to his Queen. For a moment, he hesitated. A thought ran through his head. What... if she just, doesn't love me anymore?
Ajani quickly shook his head, feeling his mane whip his face slightly. No, that wasn't it.... at least, he hoped it wasn't.
"Anya?" Slowly, he tilted his head slightly to the side, slowing, by quite a lot, once he was about two yards from the ligress. A dim, calm smile was planted on his maw, and at the moment, it looked as if it could never go away.

Hearing the call, Anya turned her whole body to face her mate. Her amethyst eyes gazed into his lilac ones, a gentle smile appearing upon her maw. "Ajani." She murmured gently, slowly walking forward toward him.
As she reached, she gently nudged at his cheek with her snout. "How do you fare? The nights are getting colder here in the oasis..." Anya murmured gently, looking down toward her feet and his. She was reminded of his bulk and his inner strength, traits that captured her heart. She felt so small, yet protected near to him. It was like nothing mattered except being with him...
So why was their love falling like this?

The male could only purr. Her touch alone, made the male feel much better... though he had to admit... the same spark was no longer there...
But.. why not?
He kept the smile on his face, as Ajani nuzzled Anya softly, looking down at her.
"I've been well...." he murmured, before his eyes slowly found their way up to the stars. "They have... it seems that the winter is finally falling..." His head still raised, his gaze slipped down, looking at his mate. "Though something is telling me that is not the cold you are talking about here."

"I'm not sure what I talk about anymore, Aja." She said, using his familiar nickname. It slipped out of her maw too natural and cool. Her tail flicked gently as she rested her head upon his maned neck. "The children are grown...they've become fine adults." Her voice was light, trying to keep the subject cheery, and not as depressing as their own life at the moment.
Her eyes closed as she tried to settle her thoughts. She made it seem like she was tired and just resting against his comforting bulk. Her paws began to slide around in the dirt lightly, as if she was doodling. In all honesty, she wasn't sure what to do around the male anymore. It was as if they had never known each other, and just one day she woke up and found out they were mates and had two children together. Everything was a blur to her....
