There had never been a day in all of the chubby black and white lioness' life where she was truely miserable until a few days before. She walked quietly through the jungle back towards her and her sister's home. Wandering away from the waterfall had been a risk, but she thought before that it was more a risk for her niece, nephew, and sister; after all Jedi was the other set of eyes and without her it was possible someone could get her, she never imagined she'd be the one.
Sulking back her ears flattened as the rumble of the falls drifted to her, what on earth will I tell Janja? The claw marked gashes on her hindquarter were a dead giveaway that something happened, wincing she continued. Janja had explained when something bad had happened to her, Jedi need never fear her sister.
Even with the fear of explaining the current events of her life to Janja the sound of the falls meant safety and that no one was going to sneak up on her and get her, like she'd thought before more eyes are better than one. She'd have to be safer this time, have to be more careful, have to watch the two cubs carefully and pray that Janja doesn't get hurt as well. She couldn't think for now about herself and kept pushing it away frightened.

When Jedi had gone off nearly a week before, Janja had expected her to be gone a day- two at the most. She was worried, worried that something happened to her sister, worried that maybe she didn't really want to be there anymore and wasn't coming back.. all sorts of ideas clawed at the back of the young lioness's mind as the days crawled by. With two cubs to keep safe, happy and worry-free, her searching had been limited.
Those two cubs were now peacefully napping in their small, cavernous den at the waterfalls side. Janja had taken the time to make some small efforts to hunt, choosing mainly to stick near the den to fish from the stream that came from the waterfall. She was standing in the shallows, paying close attention to any signs of fish, when Jedi came within audible range. With her thoughts elsewhere, Janja didn't notice that her sister had finally come home.

"Janja," Jedi almost shouted too loudly to her sister and stopped in her tracks for a moment, well that was silly, now I'll have to explain. Taking a very deep breath she straightened out trying to hide her back end from Janja's view, showing those would come, but for now she wasn't going to explain those first.
"Is everyone alright?" she scanned the area for the two little ones. What more was there to ask? She didn't want to start right away with talking about her prolonged absence. It was obvious that she was gone for longer than she planned...would Janja be mad? What if something happened while she was away?
I should never have left, ever!

The sound of a familiar voice calling out her name was enough to take Janja's attention away from fishing, especially when it was a voice she'd been expecting and waiting for. Immediately she felt relieved to know that her sister was back, and she turned away from the stream with a bright smile.
"Jedi, you're back!" she called out, looking positively delighted to have her home, "Everyone is fine, what about you?" Janja practically skipped away from the stream and over to Jedi, wasting no time in getting a good look at her. She didn't look so well, but she first attributed it to her sister's concern for them. There was also a strange scent about her, which drew a curious look from Janja, but she didn't ask anymore questions.

She nodded happily at her sister's excitment and smiled, everything was fine here, that was just A-Okay to her, peachy in fact. She sighed heavily and nodded again as a sign that 'yeah she was okay.'
"Spent a lot of time in the open, but I.." she paused pulling all the courage she could ever and will ever muster together, "Something bad has happened to me, and I'm afraid you will be mad, and I don't want to upset you or them."
She turned slowly, her hair was matted slightly in the back but claw marks were visible along her hind end. She inhaled and waited for her sister's reaction.

Janja didn't seem so convinced with the way that Jedi sighed and nodded, even with a smile on her face, something was certainly off. She looked very concerned, especially when Jedi started to say something but hesitated, "But what?"
Even though she asked, she was hoping that the words that followed weren't the ones she'd hear. As soon as Jedi said something bad happened to her, Janja's eyes widened and she stood completely still. If something bad had happened to Jedi, it was all her fault. She was the reason Jedi was here, the reason Jedi was so far from home- if something truly horrible had happened, Janja would most certainly blame herself, and no "I don't want to upset you" would stop her. Jedi turning didn't give her any indication, until she looked from Jedi's face to her back.
All at once, it became painfully obvious and Janja could only stare speechless at Jedi.

Jedi lowered her gaze and grimaced at her sister's reaction, now comes the questions, but none came she looked up at her sister again her face contorted into a mix of unhappiness and fear.
"I was trying so hard to be safe, b-but, he was b-bigger and," she fell into a heap of blubbering so incoharent it would be a suprise of the older sister knew what she was saying. It was hard to explain her being attacked, and worse raped as well. But she had to didn't she? Janja and Jedi shared almost everything. Suddenly Jedi's legs gave way and she lay very still on the ground tears streaming down her face.
Before, she had not crumbbled, she just came home as quickly as possible. She wanted Janja, because even if Jedi thought she was the protector they seemed to protect one another.

As Jedi stared back and gave half an explanation before collapsing, Janja could only shake her head and wish she was hearing it all wrong. When Jedi collapsed, Janja rushed forward and tried to make her landing softer, ending up laying with her on the ground. It was lucky that Nasibu and Kileji were asleep, she knew neither her nor Jedi wanted to worry them.
Janja curled up with her younger sister and just laid there with her, letting Jedi get it out and rest. It had to have been a long journey, especially like that.
"It'll be ok," she murmured comfortingly.
What about mom and dad say now? Janja had taken Jedi off with her, and this happened.. they would have been upset about it before, but now they would surely never forgive her. More important, though, was if Jedi would ever forgive her.
"I'm so, so sorry.."

The comfort of being next to her sister was a small one, but a comfort just the same and slowly the chubby adolescent started to calm down enough to speak. She raised her head to look at Janja and flashed a weak smile.
"I Na-Na-know it'll be o-kay," she choked out a reply, "Not your fault, I was the one that left and w-was stupid."
She was worried about herself, she knew what, well, she knew about the birds and the bees but she had never experienced anything so violent before, gulping she thought she could ask Janja.
"He, I don't know, f-orced me to do things I didn't want he was bigger..and I was so scared," she had focused her eyes a little above Janja's head so she would not have to look directly into her face.

Janja did her best to manage to smile at her sister, but was finding it incredibly hard, especially when Jedi was so upset and refusing to look at her. Jedi could say it wasn't her fault all she wanted, but Janja knew it was. If she hadn't insisted on running away, or had just sucked it up and gone on her own, Jedi wouldn't have been in the Jungle at all. She'd have been safe and happy with mom, dad, Kev and Jamala. Instead, she was here and the state of things was getting worse.
When Jedi explained unnecessarily, Janja leaned over and nuzzled against her gently. It sounded so horrible, and Janja really felt horrible that it had happened. She almost didn't want to think about it, but it sounded like.. well, like they might have more additions to the family. She wanted Hayate around now more than ever- where was he?

Jedi took a deep breath inward and let it out slowly her heart pattering loudly in her chest, "I... I hadn't thought before, but is it. Could I be?" she muttered incomprehensibly, "Cub..s?" she added slowly. Her babbling was from shock and she had never had quite the mind for speaking or thinking.
"I wont be leaving for awhile, not without you," she muttered although it seemed implied, "Safe here." She looked her sister in the eyes finally, they were the same as always big doughy blue eyes she's had since birth nothing added to them like fear or hatred; bit puffy from crying, but other than that the same.
(I do believe tiniest Jedi post EVAR!)

Janja's thoughts of Hayate were pushed away with the deep breath that Jedi took, and bit her lip when Jedi suddenly started to ramble- not sure what she was getting at until she said the word 'cubs.' Then the sad idea that Jedi had actually not already realized that possibility struck Janja, and she felt a little worse.
"It's possible, a-and you couldn't leave until we knew for sure," she stammered, not liking the idea of an already wounded Jedi going off on her own, possibly pregnant. Luckily, Jedi wanted to stay.
"It'll be even safer here soon, Hayate- he's coming to stay with us," Janja said quietly, admitting for the first time that the leopon was going to be joining their family- though the fact he intended to play daddy was left out.

"Ohh, noo," she moaned and put her head down ontop of Janja's paws. What would she do with a constant reminder of that night? What if there was more than one? She moaned again at her thoughts.
"I wont leave, and to tell you the truth I would very much Hayate to come here. Would he be protective of us...? Well, he is your friend at least you? I'd feel safer with more people around," she rolled her eyes upward to see Janja's face, her chin resting still on Janja's paws.
She felt very small all of sudden, like child being told that the monsters will be chased away in a moment, and not to worry.

Janja wasn't sure how to comfort her sister in this situation, Jedi had been so good at it with her- except when Janja got pregnant it was her own fault, it was nothing like this at all. All she could do was try to be optimistic, "If it happens- you'll love them, I'm sure." There was no question of that, she thought. It might not be easy but.. if there was anyone new to welcome into the family, they would be made welcome.
"Of course he'll be protective, he'd be here now if I hadn't thought his family should know," she murmured, knowing it sounded hypocrtical but.. his family was why he had had to stay here in the first place. Inching back a bit, Janja stretched out her legs so there was room for her to rest her head by her sisters.
"We'll be ok."

"I couldn't reject them," she said quietly. Of course she wouldn't hate a cub if there was one on the way, but it would be hard to be reminded constantly. She stiffled another moan and closed her eyes as Janja moved.
She felt like moving her back legs but there was still the idea of the gashes bursting open, they had on her way back. For now they were very itchy scabs. She shifted her paws beneath her to move them a bit to relieve the need to scratch.
"I am very glad to hear that, and that we'll be okay."
