What's it about?
Although Kyrin threw his drink to the ground, insulted him, and then commenced to stalk away, Nori follows Kyrin back to the mansion to try to calm her nerves about being pregnant. Jaydn, whom had gone to get drinks for he and his cousin, notices Kyrin and Nori's departure and heads back to the mansion, wondering why Ky would leave.

Kyrin, Nori, and Jaydn.

 Kyrin got out of the car the instant it stopped, leaving an extremely confused man in the driver’s seat; he, however, didn’t voice his concern, not knowing how his boss’s cousin would react to him. She made her way to the mansion unhappily. Having left the bar in such a fowl mood already, Kyrin wasn’t pleased to see two of Jaydn’s men obviously slacking off outside the mansion doors. She shot them a look, and though they hesitated a moment, they went back to work. Nori had irked Kyrin to no end by not letting her drink with the others, in turn making her ‘miss out’ on what could have been a fun night, and that to Kyrin couldn’t have been more upsetting at that particular moment. The only thing that Kyrin could think of that would have made her more upset would have been Craig standing in the door way. She didn’t think she would have been able to stand that. Luckily for her though, he wasn’t there.
Throwing open the doors, she ordered the men that Jaydn had placed in the room out. Her tone was sharp and demanding. The men left quickly. Sulking, Kyrin slumped down on her throne in a very un-lady-like kind of way, laying long ways across it with her legs hanging off the side.
Osiris had noticed his master’s entrance and had slunk his way between the retreating men to be at Kyrin’s side. Ky greeted the great cat with a half smile and let her arm slide off her stomach to hang off the chair. Osiris laid in front of her, under her arm, and let her pet him.

The cold air and shadows from the street followed Nori to the mansion door. He slowed his pace to catch his breath as he observed the front of the mansion. The large double doors were left gaping open from Kyrin's barrage, allowing the yellow from the streetlights to flood into the foyer. He followed her angry footsteps to the ballroom, leaving the open doors behind him. The echoes issueing from his shoes announced his presence, and he found her flung into her throne. After seeing her tantrum at the bar and being personally insulted, it was hard for Nori to keep his usual good-natured composure around this abnormal side of Kyrin.
With what little presence he had, he approached Kyrin from across the large ballroom, eager to set things straight.
“Kyrin, you need to calm down.” he said it deadpan, with his energy washing away. He hated having to feel the burden of worry, and it was worse that he had to feel it over something that he couldn't control.

At Nori’s patronizing statement, Kyrin’s attention jumped immediately from Osiris to Nori. Anger flashed acorss her face. Couldn’t just leave me alone!? She thought as she smung her legs around and stood abruptly. Ky’s sudden movement caused Osiris to stand with her. Seeing Nori there in front of her now, Kyrin began to go from on edge to losing her temper. Throwing her arms in the air, Kyrin’s voice rang through the ballroom, ”What the hell?”
Stepping down off the dais with a careful sort of deliberation, Kyrin approached Nori. Standing only a foot away from the boy now, with Osiris growling at her heels, Kyrin snapped, “Why the hell are you in everyone’s business!? Why can’t you just stop?” Kyrin’s mind was racing and her hormones were all jumbled, bending her all out of shape. With obvious irritation cemented in her words she continued, ”What do you-” But at that point Nori interrupted her.

“Stop changing the subject!” He had raised his voice to her unexpectedly, and quickly looked away. Now that he was incredibly intimated by Kyrin and her guardian, his only defense was logic. Nori had to make Kyrin settle down and understand where he was coming from.
“Denial just won’t make your problems go away, alright?” His voice was still slightly raised, but it was filled more with forbearance and sympathy, than anger. With a nervous sigh, he straightened his voice and ran a hand through his hair. “You need to take responsibility now. I can’t say I completely understand, but I can see that you’re scared." He risked looking her in the face. "You have to do what’s right Kyrin. For yourself, and for your would-be child, if that's the case. Even if it’s a false alarm, at least you will get that assurance. The mafia has to have a level-headed leader.”

Kyrin listened to the words that Nori spoke, but her tense posture still held strong. Once he had finished his say, Kyrin opened her mouth, about to retort. But, as she stoo there, she was at a lose for words. Kyrin turned on heel and wandered back to her throne; she had nothing to say to Nori‘s words. When Nori spoke of her potential child, the thoughts of not knowing exactly who‘s it was came flooding back into the forefront of Kyrin‘s mind, and tears sprung to her eyes. But they began to fall as Nori had continued on about her mafia needing a level headed leader. What mafia? Kyrin wanted to scream as she let herself fall back into her throne, I don‘t have any such thing. Kyrin‘s mind was full of thoughts of her own failure as she sat unmoving, tears trailing down her cheeks.
Osiris, still near Nori, growled for a moment longer, before going to Kyrin. As Osiris neared her, Kyrin slipped her arms around his neck as he sat and tried to hide her tears in his fur. With her face in contact with his head, the great cat butted it against her, and purred to try and calm her nerves. Unfortunately, Kyrin wasn’t calmed. She couldn‘t stop her thoughts. I don‘t have a mafia, I never have. I must have failed every test that was thrown at me. She tightened her hold on her pet. And I betrayed Craig. Her mind was quiet for a moment before she felt as though she couldn‘t stand it anymore. The silence was sad, but her thoughts were a torment, Betrayal… She thought finally, Father would be…

Now that Nori had Kyrin’s attention, he was nervous about continuing. She was listening to him, but she was silent, and it was unknown to him whether it was a rage waiting to happen.
Obviously, Kyrin seemed shaken, but Craig seemed like he would sensible enough to support her at this time of need. Treading on eggshells, he asked, “I...I realize that you're still very young, but,...At least you can start a family now? I’m sure he -Craig, I mean- will be happy about it.” It was an attempt to lighten up her devastation, although it probably would have no effect

Kyrin glanced up at Nori for a second. Her eyes shown brightly, but she still had no words. “At least you can start a family now?” Her expression became distant, ”I’m sure he’ll be happy.” Her shoulders began to shake and she buried her face again. He can’t be happy, he won’t…what if its not his? How could I be so stupid? Still she clung to Osiris, Why?

From her distraught reaction, Nori knew immediately that it was the wrong thing to say… but there had to be more to it than that. Afraid of what he was trespassing into, he decided to inquire, “So you and Craig are having problems?” Maybe this was the real dilemma, and Nori could try to at least be a supportive friend.

A bitter laugh almost escaped Kyrin‘s lips before she caught herself, ”No.” She mumbled finally into Osiris, ”He‘d be happy if its his. Even her thoughts were bitter as she sighed.

Nori’s head felt a rush of realization. No way... This was why she was so much more tormented and in denial. It almost seemed as if this topic was off limits, personal; something that he was intruding into, and something that didn’t seem right for this mafia setting, save for daytime television.
“… If?” Nori almost didn’t mean for that to blurt out, but it was exactly what he meant, as was obvious by his dumbstruck face.

Kyrin leaned back in her throne and cried into her hands. Osiris backed away to the left of Ky‘s throne. ”If.” She repeated the word as if it needed saying again, as if it would make her the worst liar in the world to not say it again. Again… She looked up at Nori, her eyes pleading; for the life of her, she didn‘t want to explain. Her throat felt tight as she seemed to suddenly have trouble breathing. She knew that she could breath, but if it hadn‘t already, she felt as though her world was crashing around her ears and she couldn‘t keep the pieces from crumbling. She drew in a long breath. ”I…“ She stalled, grasping for words that would make it seem like she was less of a tramp, less of a cheater. Why did I do it? Her mind screamed. She forced herself to continue, knowing that if she stopped, the words would never leave her mouth. ”Jamie…uh…” She paused again, not able to continue, but hoping beyond all hope that Nori would understand and not think less of her.

Nori felt his stomach drop and something very painful was gripping his chest. He looked down to realize it was his own hand holding fast to his shirt.
Remembering the way they had acted around each other when drunk...He felt nauseous.

 Footsteps sounded just outside of the ballroom, Jaydn's voice entering the room before he did. "What the hell Ky? I got you a drink and you run..." Jaydn's voice, at first irritated, trailed away into confused silence as he took a quick moment to register Kyrin's tear-streaked face. He then turned his attention to Nori, who didn't seem quite at ease with the situation. Jaydn's eyes narrowed and, without another second of hesitation, he made his way to Nori, grabbing the shorter man by the collar of his shirt with one hand. If there was one thing that Jaydn hated to see, it was his cousin crying. Pulling Nori towards him so that the crossdresser was too close for comfort to the intimidating older man, Jaydn glared at him, growling protectively, "What the hell did you do?"

Kyrin was in shock as she saw Jaydn ambush the ballroom. If anything, she had expected him to stay at the bar and drink himself into oblivion. ”Jaydn!” Kyrin cried out. It was something for him to ask a question, it was absolutely another for him to react in the manner that he did. Even through her confusion about her own situation, Kyrin thought clearly, He has no idea what’s going on! Kyrin stood. ”Jaydn! Get off him!” Kyrin stepped over quickly to Jaydn and shoved him with all the strength she could manage away from Nori.
