Tai dragged Melvin though the Divinity grounds cheerfully. There was so much to see and the young girl wanted to see it all. She loved this place with all her heart. The entire place seemed...softer, than the world out side. No one ever glared, or pushed her around, or tried to make Melvin shudder.
The air felt cleaner, and better against her skin, the dirt felt softer, and the people were kinder. She loved being here, at Divnity, once again she wished she could live here but Melvin said his mom said no, so she accepted her loss and the many visits that she would have. Melvin promised to take her all the time.
"Come on Melvin, maybe we can find Demi and Rod-ee-a." Tai urged, eager to meet her very favorite grumpy and scary men. Not that she saw him that way. Rod-ee-a was funny and Demi as really super duper nice, he just didn't like to show it was all.
Melvin had different veiws. Rodya was a grumpy boy who didn't like to be bothered and Dmitriev was a tall scary man with too casual an additude on...well...physical love and clearly was more than a little trigger happy. He would thank any lucky stars he had if they could find Tai less frightening friends. How she managed to miss all their obvious flaws was beyond Melvin, but she seemed to do that with everyone.
"Tai, maybe we should try to make some new friends, I know you like to make new friends." Melvin reminded her, as he looked around for someone to scout out, someone who didn't terrfy him by mere looks along.
Which was harder to find than it sounded.

" Fire in the hole" The cry came loud and clear as a large green water balloon went sailing through the air towards Tai and Melvin.
From behind one of the few Trees on the ground Gil peeked out and groaned. Del was no longer in sight and his water bomb was headed right towards two strangers instead of his sister. Ducking back behind the tree Gil hoped no one had seen him.
A few feet away under the picnic table Del was curled up trying not to laugh, her brother had taken to long to launch and she was no longer in the splash zone. Of course it'd be amusing to see what happen if that pair got hit.

Tai turned, looking for a hole or fire, wondering what people are talking about. She didn't see fire though, only a big old water balloon. Tai blinked, then grined as the balloon headed for them she jumped up, attempting to catch it, but it sliped by her fingers and landed with a large SPLAT, right on Melvin's face.
The young teen was less than amused. He twitched a bit as the water driped down from his face, soaking his clothes. One pale hand carefully picked up every peice of rubber left from the balloon and looked around with a cold look that Tai reconized as his mother's.
The bright smile on the girl's face faded as she worried that some how...Melvin had grown angry. Since they met Melvin hadn't grown angry, not even once. It was so...weird. Tai fell quiet as she looked around, wondering who threw that.

Gil sucked in deep breath as the girl had tried to catch his balloon. That was silly. Hadn't she seen t.v didn't she know that ' fire in the hole' meant an explosion was coming. He resisted the urge to laugh when it burst on the older boy. The look on his face clearly said he had not seen the fun in situation. Even though everyone else in the whole world was throwing balloons he wasn't expecting to get hit.
With a sigh he came out from behind the tree " Time Out Del" he called to his hidden sibling as he walked towards the newcomers. " Hi How come you guy's didn't duck. Don't you watch t.v"

Tai blinked when the guy came out, she tilted her head to the side at the mention of TV. Sicne she went to Melvin's she hadn't had the chance. When Melvin was at school Tai was learning about how wrong she was. When Melvin was home they were ether doing homework or at Divnity, if they weren't doing that Melvin was normally playing some game with her, or dealing with company, or they were eating or sleeping.
"No." Tai told him, and smiled, "Why would I?"
Melvin, caught in the middle of a rare rage steped up. His clothes were dry clean only and his mother would throw a fit when she saw what happened. Now the colors would drain and the fabric would shrink and not mention he'd spend several uncomfortable hours wet while waiting for Tai to play with some friends.
"Did you throw that balloon young man!?" he demanded in his best scary voice which made Tai look up at him confused, and a little scared. Melvin wasn't suppose to be mean...

Gil Just stared at Tai. how could she not watch T.v It taught you things, you had to watch it. There were even things to learn on it that you couldn't watch until you were older.
When the wet boy spoke up he green eyes widened. He knew that tone and that it didn't mean anything good. Still he had to defend himself " Yes but I yelled Fire in the hole,. you're supposed to duck when you hear that." In his perpherial vision Gil spotted Del heading over.
The part dolphin girl did not look amused but her glares were not aimed at her brother. instead the boy in s the stuff clothes was the object of her ire. " Watch your tone with my brother, in case you've missed it the whole of Gaia in engaged in water warefare, just becuase you aren't dressed for the occasion is no reason to get pissy." Del was younger than the boy before her but not worried. She'd had battle lessons at d-corp and Echo was only a yell for help away if things got rough. This boy might be big but a bronze dragon he was not.
Gil sighed, he just wanted to have fun like everyone else and things had been going well even if Del was winning the fighting having hit both Hazard and fade with balloon leaving him alone on his team.

Tai looked between them and opened her mouth, wanting to play peace maker. This wasn't Melvin's usual style, to get into fights. Already she could see that he was begining to faulter and if he steped down he'd loose part a precsious part of his already tiny pride.
"Yes it does!" Melvin told the girl. Though he was mad it was hard to be threatened of a clearly wet geek. "We are just walking here. The waterballons should be kept to the waterfight areas. That's why it set up, so that if Gaians don't want to be part of such a...event they don't have too." Melvin pointed out, waving his hand, "Do you know what my mother is going to do to me?"
Tai looked down and grabed Melvin's hand. "Melvin..." she whispered, looking up at the boy with her large wide eyes. Melvin looked down at her and then sighed, frowning a little as he back off. Tai leaned against Melvin, in an almost protective pose. "We're sorry we just don't react to that kind of stuff. Melvin's mother keeps him busy, and when we have time to relax he likes to come here for me, we didn't mean to yell, it's just that...his mother is kinda scary." Tai whispered the last few words, then smiled at them.

Del rolled her eyes but said nothing. At least one of the two was inclined to accept that they were in the wrong.
Gil just shook his head " That's sad, Kids are supposed to get dirty and have fun" he said firmly." His guardian had always insisted be allowed to play as he wished as long as it was safe. To get yelled at for having fun was just not right.
Still he looked at them and gave a small smile " I'm sorry, we won't throw any more balloons while you're here." he peered closer at them " Who are you? I'm Gil and my sister there is Del, she has dragons." He grinned and fussed with the goggles that were set up on his head flattening his dark green hair. it was nice to have a something he could boast about to new people. not everyone had dragons even on Gaia. " Oh and have you met Dori yet?"

Tai didn't know if she was wrong, or if they were, just...if manners class taught her anything what was wrong was often silly and only mattered to picky people. She knew Melvin was only being picky because it was so rare that he felt...right.
Tai was just sorry that they had to meet like this, Melvin wasn't one to normally fight with people. That's why she was holding onto him, she just felt that if he could calm down everything would be okay.
"Thank you." Melvin said slowly to Gil, and straightened his messed up clothes.I'm Melvin Reynolds, it's a pleasure to meet you." Melvin was carefully slinking into his shy composed self that made Tai feel oddly better.
"I'm Tailynn, but you can call me Tai." she introduced, holding out a hand to shake with...well...anyone. Then she turned to the girl, "You have a dragon!? How cool!" she gushed while Melvin paled, looking down. "Whose Dori?"

Gil grinned glad that the fighting was over. " It's Nice to meet you too." Well as long as he stayed happy it would be nice. Quickly Gil turned his attention to Tai and grabbed her hand with his. " Hi Tai that's a neat name . Dori is Dorian he lives with Christian over that way" Gil, pointed in the direction of one of the buildings on the compound. " Dori is really cool and you should meet him sometimes."
As far as Gil was concerned Tai should pay attention to him Del was closer to Melvin's age so they should talk together that's how the world worked. you talked to people your same age and size.
Del smiled and nodded at he girl her brother was holding onto. Echo is my dragon but he's lazyish at this time of day, unless I need him and yell for him he'll probably sleep on the porch all day." looking up at he sky she laughed a bit " well at least it's sunny and you'll dry soon. I"m sorry about what happened." The last words were directed to Melvin who still seemed a bit upset.

Actually at the word 'dragon' Melvin got a whole new set of worries. His face had paled and he watched the sky nervously, at least the girl said he most likely wouldn't be around because he was lazy. Melvin did not want to face a dragon, or have Tai around such a dangerous creature. Knowing her she'd place her hand in the dragon's mouth and trust it not to bite down.
She was too trusting, like how she was with Dmitrevi, the man was too easily angered for that realtionship to end all that well. Melvin sighed a little before he glanced at the girl.
"It's fine, I'm kinda use to this stuff happening." Melvin told her, rubbing the back of his head. At least he knew this wasn't some kind of prank, someone trying to make him look stupid. One look at Gil's face told him that he honestly meant no harm, it was just a game to him.
"Ohhh, that's cool! We should go meet him now." Tai suggested with a grin, "Do you live with him? You live here right? I think that's cool, Melvin and I live somewhere else but Melvin says when I'm big enough I can live here. Do you like living here? Is Del your guardian? Do you like to play games?" And it started. Tai's endless question flood.

Del laughed softly " I'd ask but I'm not sure I want to know." Del was used to odd stuff happening as well but not so much unfortunate expect for the time her house had disappeared. " Do you want to go sit at the table while you dry" She inquired nodding towards the wooden picnic table.
Gil was not even remotely bothered by all the questions, it gave him a chance to talk and show off what he knew> We can't see Dori Know he's not home and He lives with Christian in a different building but I have slept in his house once which is like living there for a little while." he paused briefly to suck in a deep breath before continuing." I live in the house there " he pointed to one of the bugger but less fancy places." I like living here becuase I get to see Dori a lot Del is my sister, Malen is my guardian he's on the porch with Echo. I like to play games especially games with balls and the little dragons. " he peered closer at Tai " What do you like to play?"
He fussed with his goggles again before asking more questions " Hey I have to go to school soon do you have to go? I like to learn things from the t.v but i don;t know how you learn at school unless it's like lots of t.v , do you think there's t.v at school? What sort of stuff do you want to learn?"

Melvin shifted as he glanced to the table. He'd like to avoid the dragon, he knew that much, and then he looked to Tai. He didn't want to leave her alone for too long...then agian she could handle herself better than he could. She seemed happy, chatting away with a young boy who seemed to be a kindered spirit, he asked as many questions as Tai did.
"Sure, I wouldn't mind that." Melvin admited as he turned to walk to the table, "So...do you take care of Gil by yourself?" melvin asked shyly, blushing a little as he looked at the girl, for the first time completely realizing her gender. He was horrible with the opposite sex.
Tai grined, delighted by the young boy. Finally someone wasn't anoyed with her questions! It was great, someone accepting her many questions, not anoyed or frustrated with it. Of course not that she blamed those people. Demi was merely tired and Melvin just got flustered. And everyone else...well everyone else had their own stories.
"That's cool! I live away from here, with Melvin's mother, and a bunch of servents. They're pretty neat. And the place is super huge!" Tai threw up her hands trying to deminstrate. "What is your place like? Is it big? What's it like having a dragon to play with? ARe they big? Can they breath fire? Can they fly? Have they ever taken you flying?" The questions would not stop and for once Tai felt no fear over bugging soemone.
"I don't go to school. Mrs. Reynolds says that I can't go to Melvin's school and she hates anything public." Tai pouted because going to school with other kids sounded really fun but... "I got a tudor, she tells me everything that I do wrong, which is everything I do I think. I don't talk right, or stand right, or sit right, or breath right or anything right. It's kinda weird because I don't get why what I'm doing is wrong." Tai admited with a shrug, "What's a sleep over like? Is it fun? Do you do it a lot?" Tai asked quickly, grining happily as she made her first friend her age.

Del walked alongside Melvin as she answered his questions oblivious to the boys discomfort " Who me? Nah I'm just his older sister I'm reliable enough to be left alone with him though same as how my older sister lets me babysit her kids." Del was proud of her position in her family, sure she wished her body would reflect her mental age and experience but she could live with it.
Gil drummed his fingers against his legs as he thought before answering the questions" Our house is sorta big but mostly not. I think it would be cool to live in a big place. but what would you need servants for?" Gil didn't understand the need for anyone to do anything for you unless you couldn't do it yourself, like how he couldn't cook or drive.
Green eyes sparked with excitement as he continued to talk and tell all he knew "Dragons are awesome, they are very smart even if they can't speak English. Echo is big, bigger than me sort of. Hazard and Fade are the size of my hands but more fun than Echo and like me better." Gil supposed this could be becuase Echo was sort of bonded to Del but Hazard and fade while they liked her had no such alliance.
"Hazard and fade can fly and I think i saw fade breath fire once but I was sleepy so I'm not sure. Echo can fly but he can't really carry anyone yet he's too small. Oh and even though he's yellow right now he's actually a bronze dragon. The yellow just means he's still little. He can't breath fire but he will have a special breath weapon when he's older."
" I have to go to a private school but still there will be other kids there. I have to wear a uniform though" Gil grumbled a bit at this. He liked choosing his own clothes. " Sometime adults are fussy I don't think you could do stuff wrong all the time." Here Gil tried to be reassuring, as far as he could tell there wasn't anything wrong with Tai.
" Sleepovers are fun and all of them are supposed to be different. " Gil shrugged. " I've only been to one but it was really cool"

Melvin looked at her, then to Gil. She had another sibling? One old enough to have kids? It must be a busy household, though the older sibling had to be out of the house. It still had to be full, at least one parent, the girl and her dragon, then the young boy, and as Melvin now knew, a young child took up more space then one could believe.
"That's very nice, being trusted like that. But I do suppose taking care of the dragon helps. I mean...it shows you're responbile from a young age." Melvin explained, blushing a little, already embaressed.
Tai on the other hand was having no problems talking with her new friend. Gil, the boy with the funny googles, they looked so cool! She loved how everyone in Divinity was so different, so new, so...interesting. She loved it! She grined as she listened to him.
"Well they cook, or clean, or watch me when Melvin, or Mrs Reynolds doesn't want too. And there's one servent, Corliss, whose job is to watch the other servents and makes sure they do it right. Mrs. Reynolds can't seem to live with out them." Tai admited, wondering if other people lived without servents. She didn't know the homelife of any real normal people so she didn't know.
But her train of thought was distracted by the mention of dragons. "They come in different colors? How cool! I'd love to see him. I bet dragons are super neat. Can anyone have a dragon? Or is it only special people? Melvin mentioned getting me a pet one time but Mrs. Reynolds said no. But it's okay, I don't need one." Tai convincered herself of that so she wouldn't put a strain on Melvin.
"I would like to go to school with other kids." Tai admited, "Even if I have to wear a uniform, so long as it isn't itchy. I HATE itchy clothes." Tai shuddered as she rubbed her arms, remembering the horrible itch of other dresses that she had been forced into. "Melvin says that I can only wear silk and cotton because those are soft materials and don't bug my skin. I have sesitive skin." she explained, still smiling.
"Sleep overs sound fun, I don't think Rod-ee-a or Demi would want to go to one though. those were my frist friends. They're super fun! Have you met them?"
